What costume shall I wear tonight,

the moon asked of the purple sky.

I'm tired of always being bright,

a unicorn is what I'll try!

Don't be offended, but I'm stunned,

your figure is a bit rotund.

Lets think this through my pudgy friend,

perhaps your choice we may amend.

We'll use the clouds to paint your face,

the "moon" in you we shall replace.

In midnight blues and sunset red,

cool Autumn winds around your head.

Your eyes will beam a happy glow,

your mouth a jagged toothy show.

And when you smile you'll light the night,

it will be a frightening sight!

On Halloween no ones left out,

great vampire bats will scream and shout,

as children stroll beneath your gleam,

on chocolate waves of candy stream.
