The Fall Behind the Scenes: Lee’s Method Acting

Lee Pace spent the two months it took to film The Fall’s hospital scenes a wheelchair. Only a select few of the crew knew that he could actually walk.

“It was hard (…) but it was about getting that performance out of Catinca, and making her feel comfortable with me, and putting the mood on set that she would be sensitive to. I do think it was valuable, because it caught a level of realism in those scenes with Catinca, a privacy and sensitivity that I don’t know we would have gotten without doing it.”

Hobbits Have Been Living And Farming In The Four Farthings Of The Shire For Many Hundreds Of Years, Quite

Hobbits have been living and farming in the four Farthings of the Shire for many hundreds of years, quite content to ignore and be ignored by the world of the Big Folk. Middle-earth being, after all, full of strange creatures beyond count. Hobbits must seem of little importance being neither renowned as great warriors… nor counted among the very wise. In fact, it has been remarked by some that Hobbits’ only real passion is for food. A rather unfair observation as we have also developed a keen interest in the brewing of ales and the smoking of pipe-weed. But where our hearts truly lie is in peace and quiet and good, tilled earth. For all Hobbits share a love of thinhs that grow. And, yes, no doubt to others, our ways seem quaint. But today of all days, it is brought home to me. It is no bad thing to celebrate a simple life.

Kirsty Mitchells Late Mother Maureen Was An English Teacher Who Spent Her Life Inspiring Generations

Kirsty Mitchell’s late mother Maureen was an English teacher who spent her life inspiring generations of children with imaginative stories and plays. Following Maureen’s death from a brain tumour in 2008, Kirsty channelled her grief into her passion for photography.

She retreated behind the lens of her camera and created Wonderland, an ethereal fantasy world. The photographic series began as a small summer project but grew into an inspirational creative journey.

‘Real life became a difficult place to deal with, and I found myself retreating further into an alternative existence through the portal of my camera,’ said the artist. (read the rest here).
