Being a person naturally inclined to humanities in a STEM world is actually really demoralizing sometimes like what do you mean none of my talents can earn me a comfortable wage. If I were as good at math as I were at e/la or history or art I would actually be considered a fucking genius but nobody is going to give you the same credit for it because it just doesn’t matter as much anymore?? Like I was looking at my practice ACT review and I got within the 97th percentile for reading but all I could focus on was my math score like Jesus Christ I don’t want to be thought of as stupid because I couldn’t remember when to use the quadratic formula in the middle of June. I wish I could live off an authors wage and write down little stories in my head and don’t get me wrong I love physics but not because of the math. Math makes me feel terrible sometimes because it’s like a constant reminder that I’ll never be as predisposed to it as I will to the humanities. Like I put effort into it and that’s why I succeed in it but there something kind of demoralizing about the fact that it’ll never come as easy to me as the humanities will, and that I would’ve picked a different career path if writing or art could provide me with an equal wage.

Oh my god oh my god both eternity and mortality are terrifying and regardless of religious beliefs it’s one or the other it’s like the only thing that’s black and white and both those options are chilling. Either I exist for ALWAYS or I exist for a limited amount of time.
