Quinn was showing some papers to Orville, who was excitedly looking them over. The two were in an engaging conversation, So much so that they hardly seemed to notice anything or anyone around them.
The beeping of the Koffee machine, however, served as a distraction from their conversation after a few moments. Quinn hesitated, the noise putting them out of the flow of the conversation. Orville also stopped, looking to the machine.
Quinn turned around.
“Boss!”
with a tired sigh, death put his scythe on his back and patted off pitbook, floating out of the elevator. He'd just finished... taking care of... the issues in Addictions. He already handled Brad earlier, and just got the time for this now.
He moved through the break room, ignoring the fact that Jerry didn't seem to have moved from yesterday's spot, and headed for the koffee machine.
He set his mug and waited, crossing his arms and looking around, brows furrowed as he grumbled. Something about "incompetence" and "useless sorrows".
Then he spotted Pump Quinn across the room. He didn't notice how he immediately untensed upon seeing them. Stare softening and iron grip on his arms loosening. They were just talking to Orville. Nothing special. Yet he didn't look away.
He somehow didn't notice the Koffee machine beeping.
Quinn clapped their hands together as they began to ramble on about ideas. Orville occasionally nodded and interjected; he seemed pretty excited, too.
“Ooh! We need to start decorating! And telling all our coworkers!” Quinn exclaimed, flipping one of the blueprints and taking out a pencil to write on the back. They scribbled down some ideas, along with the names of people who would be the most willing to help.

Quinn’s face broke out in a large smile. Death could practically feel warmth and joy radiating from them.
“Oh, thank you, Boss! You don’t know how much that means to me!” Quinn exclaimed, unable to stop themselves from jumping a bit.
It was a day like any other. Long. Repetitive. Boring. And Death was getting antsy. So he moved from his desk and decided to take a walk, sighing with quiet relief as he finally moved from his chair.
He moved along quietly, figuring that he'd get some koffee. Maybe have a talk with Jocelyn or Quinn. Pump Quinn's own desk was on the way to where he was heading, so he decided he'd check in on them first.
He turned a corner and approached where they sat, back to him. The vague sound of scratching pencil on paper piqued his interest. As well as the small pile of crumpled balls nearby.
He remained quiet as he moved closer, curiosity growing.
