I really cannot decide...
If more than one applies or you'd choose something not on the list, obviously reblog and put your elaborate fantasy in the notes on Ao3.
Hello!
If you are living right now in 2023 and are still a big fan of LOTR please reblog bro where are my fellow Tolkienites (Tolkieneers?)
Ok, so...
If someone asked me which of the songs in LotR was my favourite, I wouldn't know what to answer. All the poems are amazing, Tolkien was a genius, yeah, yeah, we all know that. But... I think it's worth saying something more about it, so here goes:
My musings: poetry in LotR
Part 1: The Road Goes Ever On
Okay, I have to start of one thing. This poem is unique in that it has as many as three versions. The first is Bilbo's version. The second is spoken by Frodo on the road to Crickhollow, with only one significant change: in the line "pursuing it with eager feet", instead of the word "eager" we have "weary". A seemingly insignificant detail, but....
The third version is my favourite. Again, it is Bilbo who utters these words, but this time they are significantly altered. Bilbo himself has also changed; he is now old and tired. This third version is a subtle hint to the reader of further events; it shows the changes that take place in us, whether we want them to or not.
What is the title path? Tolkien makes us reflect in these few lines; for perhaps there is about to be a turn in our path....

Do you know the quiet road
Between the golden fields?
Do you know that the Wizard rode here
With lots of fireworks?
Do you know where he rode
Whistling a quiet song?
Do you know that he also longed
For this place he once called home?

Remadora being all lovey-dovey 🥰❤️💖
