BTS is NOT 1D, jikook ain’t larry

I know some army are ex 1D fans or are still stanning 1D but it is not a reason to constantly compare the two. Recently with jungkook’s vlog of his trip in tokyo with jimin a lot of people have been hating on jikook fans for daring to comment on a jikook (jungkook filming jimin = jikook) video about the romantic atmosphere of it, claiming that they shouldn’t romanticize that video or the pairing bcoz it can make them uncomfortable bcoz larry said so. Those are two very different ships, in two very different industries.

1) A lot of you sound fake af with that concern coz i’m pretty sure if it had been your ship you would have done the same thing. Actually we know a lot of you are very butthurt, very salty vkook (they like everywhere), vmin and yoonmin (although I didn’t see much of them) shippers so like… whatever we can’t take you seriously with your fake concern.

2) For those of you who actually meant it and compared the situation to larry, THIS IS KPOP. Those guys know they are shipped as friends and as lovers by ifans and even some kfans as well. Yes, certain idols actively try to stay away from fan service and public skinship because they are not comfortable with being shipped with their members in a romantic way. Actually some are so uncomfortable they start sounding homophobic to certain people and get hate (but that’s another issue). On the other hand, some idols don’t project the image of people who are uncomfy. Not only they don’t, but they actually do things that can be called “suspicious”. How can jungkook not expect people to ship him romantically with jimin when he goes around saying stuff like “I want you”?. Yes, that was certainly a joke given that he said it in public but he damn well knows what effect it will have on fans. I don’t mean that he says it to get a reaction from fans, i’m saying that he does it despite the fan reactions. Same goes with that video he made. He posted a video of jimin, with a troye sivan song in the background. He didn’t film japan and showcased his editing skills with a neutral video and a neutral song, he filmed jimin, and put a song that can very well be interpreted as romantic. When jimin posted his video, the vibe was completely friendly, with phone videos of them both and a cute joyful song that gave no romantic vibes at all. That’s not what jungkook did? And people can argue that he did that for “aesthetic” purposes or to make his video more professional whatever the fact of the matter is that he knows that people will have all sorts of different reactions to that video and he most certainly knows that to avoid jikook shippers, posting a video of jimin with lyrics like “I’m running running just to keep my hands on you” ain’t the best way. Some desperate people will argue that he ain’t fluent in english…that’s bullshit. he said himself that he translates the lyrics of songs he covers and even without that he knows the artist, he is a fan of the guy and Idk him myself but i’m pretty sure most of his songs are love songs. Jungkook is known to cover love songs, it’s his thing, so don’t give me that “he didn’t know” crappy excuse.

3) I’m not saying jungkook is in love or sending a message or whatever, I still don’t know what to think of that video myself. What I’m saying is that you can’t attack people for finding that video suspicious and you can’t claim that jungkook is uncomfortable with people commenting about jikook becoz larry said they were. If he had been he wouldn’t have edited the video that way, he wouldn’t say stuff like “I want you” he wouldn’t have made a photoshoot on a gay unicorn. 

4) talking about gay unicorn. To the people who say stuff like “if jikook were dating they would be more discreet coz korea is homophobic and bang pd wouldn’t let them out themselves like that”. He made them pose on a freaking gay unicorn. That thing has lgbt symbolism. I ain’t saying they gay & I ain’t saying there aren’t. All i’m saying is that things can be seen as perfectly friendly (which is totally fine by me, I’m absolutely not trying to convince anyone jikook are dating or whatever bcoz i’m not convinced myself) but they can be seen as suspicious as well, so there’s no need to attack people, this ain’t larry, this is kpop, shipping is a thing.
