I Want To Share MY THOUGHTS On This Years
I want to share MY THOUGHTS on this years
💫 diversity💫
at the fabulous Eurovision Song Contest 2021.
And you may ask yourself, what diversity? Especially when looking at the entries from e.g. Azerbaijan, Moldova, Greece, Israel and Cyprus (this is how I imagine an American ESC to look like)
However, I don't hate the songs either, because I don't feel hate, I just feel —
Hahaha did you see what I did there? xD
I actually want to focus on the "outsiders", who IN MY OPINION bring a bit difference in the party hymn playlist...
Portugal

I — what a pleasant surprise. Absolutely pleasant. Slow and lovely just like how I wish the Eurovision week to be. :) I really enjoyed this one. So definitely one of my favourites.
Switzerland

literal footage of me after hearing the song in the semifinal (yes, I am old fashioned and only start listening to the songs after semifinal). HIS VOICE. And French, ladies and gentlemen, a gorgeous language. So lovable. The song. I didn't quite got the performance but still making this ESC feeling like one.
Finland

I am not a huge fan of the genre. But I like it, it's catching and doesn't sound too harsh.
Italy

Well. Still not my kind of genre but it is different. And I love them.
France

I stan. While I may don't get along with a classical chanson, I am still so ready for this song. And again. FRENCH. (I am not French, I just live for this language)
Germany

German entries are always kind of..... special, let's put it this way. This song and Jendrik doesn't fail to get me into a good mood. Jendrik is out there trying his best to celebrate this contest peacefully and will probably end up getting ZERO points — honey, I am sorry♡ but his energy and the one of the song doesn't fail to make me smile. :)
Belgium

The irony of the song title and them making it to the final (deserved). Love it. Gives me somewhat close to peace. I don't know why.
Ukraine

It is pretty obvious, why I like it. Because it is exactly what should be embodied in the contest. It's unique and special.
Honorable mentions
(only because I don't know if there is a limit of gifs you are allowed to use)
Russia
Strong energy. Like it.
Lithuania
I liked them last year and I am happy to see them again. They are strange (whatever that means) and I like that.
Iceland
Incredibly sorry for them. I would have loved to see them live. (Also one of my favourites last year and happy to see them back). It's calm and gentle. I like it.
What I wanted to deliver was:
Dear ESC fans and countries,
from one to another,
I love to see slow songs in Eurovision. I love ballads and I would never kick out a well-performed one. Never. Make me cry ugly, give me goosebumps, I am there for it. O M G just give emotions.
I love seeing unique entries whether it's the genre or the language. I am living for countries singing in their main language. Even if that means I don't get what there are singing as long as they are safe with doing so. Make them feel welcomed as they are. (Obviously doesn't count for mainly English speaking countries) And I know some languages may not be attractive enough for someone but don't put shame on them.
And after all, I love to see variety and diversity in Eurovision. BECAUSE that is what Eurovision is. It is about open up to one another. Celebrating peace and life and Europe — and I love it, always did, do and will.
So send in something that doesn't fit in. I don't fit in most parts of life. I connect to the called "outsiders" because I am one myself.
Don't be shy. Show me being your country with all your flaws, I love them and appreciate them.
Send the weirdest, most unique and touching contestants you can find. Send originals. Being professional doesn't justify the lack of originality.
All the best,
One ESC lover
(may be the only one who thinks that way)
P.S. :
I want to clearify that I don't hate the songs I mentioned in the beginning. I probably listen to them in the future but it's made me open my eyes about diversity in Eurovision this year. (Pls don't hate thanks.)

you deserve someone who will make you happy
you deserve someone who doesn’t make you question if you’re their priority
you deserve someone who listens
you deserve someone who validates your feelings
you deserve someone who loves you just as much as you love them
you deserve someone who makes time for you
you deserve someone who gushes about you
you deserve someone who makes sure you know they enjoy spending time with you
you deserve someone who makes you laugh on your worst days
you deserve someone who makes you go to bed with a smile on your face, not tears in your eyes
you deserve someone who doesn’t make you worry you might say the wrong thing
you deserve someone who is willing to drop everything to comfort you on a really bad day

you deserve someone who appreciates you
you deserve better

I know we’ve been making jokes about the superleague, but it’s sad. It’s sad to see (even if we always knew) that the ones in charge don’t care about the fans, their employees. All the people who care about their clubs. All they care about is money (no surprise) and getting richer and it’s disgusting
