hello Anon, thanks for the question, and, my idea of grooming on Gale's relationship with Mystra is kinda complicated, ear me out:

first thing first, Gale was a prodigy even as a young boy, and we understand that as a magician (similar to all the people who follow a religion) he worshipped Mystra, and she was always a presence in his life.

people will say that just because he was an adult, the grooming part doesn't count, but this is wrong.

Grooming someone mean that we have power over him, influence, and we have a big part on the shaping of the mind of the person, and Mystra did all those things (remember Gale have a deep bond with the weave than others), maybe not necessarily over present when Gale was a child, but more than there when he became her lover.

the power dynamic in their relationship was deeply unbalanced, she had all the power, while he was literally at her hands and feet to worship her.

Gale had so much stress, feeling never enough , and we see that if we try to romance him, he is trying so much to impress TAV/DURGE, because he believe he need to do more(after all, romancing a litteral god...lot of stress).

because is feeling of not enough that he will absorb the globe and Mystra will chase him away like nothing, and don't let me start when she ask him(not really her, she send someone else to tell him, like sending a sms, what a bitch, do it yourself coward) to kill himself like he meant nothing.

this is shadow grooming and nothing will convince me differently.

Sooooooo, Jacq have a deep bond with all the companions, each one of them differents and unique, but between all, his bond with Astarion is the deepest. I know it may seen a cliché, but this is not a coincidence, he is the only one who can understand fear and bloodlust more than everyone.

in the beginning their bond may have been a scam from Astarion, a way of protection, but after a while Jacq understood what was hiding behind it after spending a bit of time talking with Astarion.

the hunger for blood, the fear they both felt, the unbearable weight of the shadow of their masters, the knowledge to never be really free until facing their abusers, that's what bond them so deeply.

it's funny to see that even if their personalities are really differents (Jacq have a nice hero personality, astarion have a sassy bitchy personality) they got along pretty well, dark humor an jokes they...

and don't forget one is a vampire and the other is a cannibal, murder buddies ❤️
