You know, I think the most interesting part about becoming a fan of Tom Cruise is how… predictable people’s responses shitting on him are. Actually, not only that, but also how none of the complaints are anything new.

He’s a Scientologist (but they ignore the fact that he’s a victim because it’s convenient), He jumped on Oprah’s couch (how many years ago was that?), he talked shit about antidepressants (not only was that a long time ago, but he apologised, and this can once again be blamed on Scientology), He told cast and crew not to look him in the eyes (Tom didn’t ask for that, and the Navy clearly stated that the order was misconstrued), he’s weird and intense (we’re saying on this, the site where we actively tell people to be themselves even if it’s weird?).

The list could go on and on, but notice that most of the complaints are out of date, wrong, or clearly disregard the fact that if he was a woman or not white people would be tripping over themselves making excuses? On top of that, notice that the most recent ‘hot water’ he got into was because he was rightfully yelling at people for not following Covid protocol.

I say all of this because it’s 100% in your right to not like his movies, to think he’s strange, and to just generally dislike him for no reason, but it’s past comical that people consider him to be the worst of the worst when we’ve got people in the industry who are far worse than he’s ever been and also choose to completely disregard how kind and generous he is.
