(Hey so this is a ooc for two reasons one I wanna thank every who have taken part in the adopt event and yes until all of the adopts have been taken the event will continue to be open and the second reason I ive recently bought a clinging/magnemite on a Pokemon adopts amino from the user Circus_Freak_Danny and I was wondering if I could use it as a Pokemon alex with acquire or should I make a Pokemon ask blog with it?(image of the little lad included)

I don’t know if you’d be interested because you plan on traveling soon but if you are or any of your assistance are interested @alex-ishvan is currently housing a few litters of paternal hybrids that she’s looking to adopt out. I know taking care of an infant pokemon can be a bit of a commitment but A lot of joy an intellectual enrichment can come from raising and discovering the unique characteristics possessed by truly one of a kind pokemon .

I submit to you that the most iconic feature of any animal is either unlikely or impossible to fossilize.

If all we had of wolves were their bones we would never guess that they howl.

If all we had of elephants were fossils with no living related species, we might infer some kind of proboscis but we'd never come up with those ears.

If all we had of chickens were bones, we wouldn't know about their combs and wattles, or that roosters crow.

We wouldn't know that lions have manes, or that zebras have stripes, or that peacocks have trains, that howler monkeys yell, that cats purr, that deer shed the velvet from their antlers, that caterpillars become butterflies, that spiders make webs, that chickadees say their name, that Canada geese are assholes, that orangutans are ginger, that dolphins echolocate, or that squid even existed.

My point here is that we don't know anything about dinosaurs. If we saw one we would not recognize it. As my evidence I submit the above, along with the fact that it took us two centuries to realize they'd been all around us the whole time.

here's ur reminder that axolotl is NOT pronounced like "ak-suh-laa-tl" (or lot-ul), it is in fact a nahuatl word (that most commonly translates to "water dog" actually, very cute!) and is pronounced "ah-SHOW-lowtch" !!!!

Prof . I have a bit of a conundrum on my hands . My cousin is a member of the Castform breeding society and during a recent trade he acquired a Castform that unbeknownst to him was pregnant. Generally customers aren’t interested in paternal presenting highbred as they tend to have unique needs and aren’t as consistent in their abilities as pure breeds so he asked me if I wanted them or if I could find them a new home.  I don’t particularly care the way most breeders handle accidental offspring so I excepted.  based on information I gathered  this Castform whom I have been calling Haze is the accidental offspring of a Castform and a Koffing. I think because of the hybridization Haze’s aerosolized water body instead of using inert substances in the atmosphere like dust or salt to accumulate water around emission particles instead. So unfortunately their body is acidic , I learned that the hard way after petting them for a few minutes and getting a rather uncomfortable burn on both my hands.  initially when I got Haze it was with the intent to rehome them to someone with a bit more time on their hands than I do , but I won’t if I can’t find a way to deal with their acidity. Not everyone has experience with high need to Pokémon like I do and I wouldn’t be fair to Haze if the person couldn’t handle handle them. initially I thought I could sprinkle baking soda over them to neutralize some of the acidity of their body but I am unsure if doing so would harm them. I have another unique Castform at home that I know always gets sick if it’s internal particulates are alter significantly for too long , So I’m concerned if I neutralize the emission in their body it might hurt them. Prof Powederpuff I know this might be a little outside your territory but if there’s any advice you can give me on how to help or people who could help them them it would be appreciated. Currently I am running under the presumption that Haze is a normal poison type.

This is such a tough situation. This is my first time coming across a poison type crossbreed but most certainly not my first time dealing with high maintenance and tricky little guys.

Firstly, I'm so glad you came to me before trying the baking soda! That would've likely made them very sick, not only because Castform's bodies are very sensitive to artificial interference (there were a couple experiments a few decades ago to try and induce form changes artificially that didn't do much but make the Castform ill), but also because Koffing (which seems to be the main contributor to your little guys internal biology judging by the acidity and single form), actually feeds on pollutants and poisonous particulates in the air (hence why they're so common in cities). In all likelihood, had you done that, you would have been effectively starving your friend along with the base of the baking soda giving them neutralisation burns.

As for people who could give you further help or perhaps be viable adoptive partners, I, myself am an option of course (though we'd have to organise a meet up for me to pick them up. Since your initial intention was to rehome them, I wouldn't recommend forcing yourself to take care of them unless youre really very sure about it, as that kind of limitation can strain a relationship.

I would also recommend @prof-peach and her sanctuary as a method of finding a new home for them if you don't feel comfortable leaving them with me since I don't have specialised facilities on-hand all the time (being more of a travelling researcher). Even though she mostly specialises in Grass types, I know she has a lot of experience with finding good homes for Pokémon (especially hybrids) and probably wouldn't mind too much that Haze is outside her typing expertise.

Feel free to contact me to arrange a meet-up if you do feel like trading them to me is a good decision (I'm sure Crow will be extremely happy to have another flier in the group!) If you don't think we're a good fit, please do update me on what you decide to do and how Haze is doing afterwards!
