I think it'd be clear to certain characters, like Roy, that this "new" Ed isn't the Ed they know. Also I'm gonna probably write out something within the next few days for this. Probably gonna split chapters by post and whatnot since I don't have an AO3 acc. So, expect that in the near future! Maybe. Idk yet.

Also yes the bottom left corner doodle is Ed chewing on a mobile phone. Why? Idk it popped up in my head.

The characters shown are Ed, Al, Roy, Black hayate, and Truth just so that's clear.

Old screenshots of an AU concept I was working on. I don't remember the specifics?? But it's like one of those AUs where Ed ends up in a different universe as a toll from Truth. But in this AU it's Ed going into a modern setting, it's got all the stuff from the modern AU I was working on (I'm altering the stuff I got for that so that'll be fun.), with no concept of anything and having the knowledge of "his world". Kinda like COS/FMA 2003 but I can't say for certain bc I need to rewatch 2003 and watch COS.

EDIT (just before I post): I ALMOST FORGOT; I remember that I said it's FMA Ed going into said modern AU so he'll know certain characters (e.g. Al, Winry, Roy, Riza, etc.) But in the modern AU that he ends up in there's now the addition of characters he never met (e.g. Ling, Lanfan, etc.). There's also no homunculi, this au is kinda chill? It's just Ed trying to, at the very minimum, gain a sort of contact with the Al of "his world" and to gain knowledge of this "new world" he's in. (Approaching it from a scientific standpoint and all that bc there's things that are completely advanced for his time period, which is the early 1900's and so he wouldn't know what a cellular mobile phone is and that's funny to me.)

Uhhh Ed's age hasn't been thought of but he's probably 14-15. Maybe?? I'll tell y'all when I make more mental notes.

These were made before my phone reset completely so I will be redrawing these sketches and working more on the concept today.

you ever think about how ed and ling were eachothers first normal dumb teen friend because ed had only had al and winry but that was all tainted by trauma so he never really got to be a dumb teen and ling was presumably raised mostly isolated with bodyguards around and the closest thing to a friend he had was lan fan who still like worked for him and stuff and then they meet eachother and they have petty arguments like teens do and suddenly theyre stuck in gluttony and are trying to survive and they eat a boot together and ed carries ling and tells him not to give up and then suddenly ling has greed in him because he thought giving up his identity and his body for immortality was the bets thing to do for his people and he leaves his first real friend behind and ed sees him consumed by a homunculus but doesnt stop believing in ling and way later they meet again and they go on a camping trip in the woods for a few months and sometimes ling is there but its mostly greed but the short moments are nice enough and they get to be stupid teens doing stupid stuff for a bit and maybe have their first kiss because thats just part of being a dumb teen and then the promised day happens and suddenly its all over and greed is gone but ling is willing to give up the philosophers stone for ed and al but they dont even need it and ling goes back to xing and becomes emperor and does what is best for his people but he isnt smiling anymore
