Soups! Kitchen Witch Masterpost

One of the easiest and most heartwarming recipes for a kitchen witch, soups! Their recipes are easily manipulated to suit your intention, plus they’re perfect for the upcoming winter!

Basic Ingredients:

- Carrots, Onions, Celery. These are the holy trinity. I also like to add garlic, potatoes, tomatoes, and others.

- vegetable/chicken broth and/or water.

- many recipes call for crushed tomatoes. I like diced, and can find them canned in any grocery store, but it’s up to you!

- (Optional) beans or lentils (if you buy dried lentils, cook them beforehand)

- (Optional) meat–sausage, beef, chicken. Cook before adding to the soup please!

Directions:

1. Cut up vegetables and sautee them in a big pot for about eight minutes. This is to soften them up and sweeten up the onions. Don’t add herbs yet!

2. If you bought canned beans, drain and rinse them. If you want thicker broth, you can crush up a can of beans into a paste and add them to the broth, or even throw them into a blender.

3. Set pot aside. Add tomatoes, beans, meat, broth. Bring to a boil, then let simmer for 20-30 minutes. Add any herbs you wish.

Common Vegetables:

Carrots - sex (with parsley for best results), fertility

Cabbage - lunar food, protection, wealth, prosperity, luck

Onions - protection, purification, healing, exorcism, wealth

Celery - sex, peace, psychic powers, mental strength

Beans - wealth, sex, protection

Potato - protection, compassion

Mushrooms - psychic powers, strength

Common Herbs:

Thyme - love, psychic powers, purification

Basil - love, protection, money, exorcism

Rosemary - protection, consciousness, memory, healing, love

Parsley - protection, sex, love, wealth

Dill - wealth, love, consciousness, studying, luck

Bay - protection, psychic powers, healing, purification, strength

Garlic - protection, healing, strength, psychic powers, exorcism

Ginger - love, wealth, strength, success

Black Pepper - protection, purification, exorcism

Salt - purification, protection, healing

Most herbs are not put into the broth until the broth is simmering, to prevent burning. The exception to this rule is bay, which is put in at the beginning. BEWARE of pepper! The longer the pepper cooks in the soup, the spicier the soup will be!

IF YOU’RE ADDING MEAT:

- Do not cut your vegetables with the same knife you cut meat with.

- Cook meat beforehand, but remember that it’ll be cooking in the broth for a time afterwards, or be careful not to overcook.

- Most meat is diced into half-an-inch-squares.

Other Tips:

- Stir clockwise to create, counter-clockwise to take away.

- You can carve sigils into some vegetable slices.

- Cook with a crystal near your pot to boost a spell’s effectiveness.

- Fire and water are prominent elements here! Draw upon their power.

And that’s it!! Have a lovely winter full of great company and nourishing meals!

**if there are any additions feel free to add, and if there are any corrections, message me! :)

Insomnia-Be-Gone!

A soothing sachet to tuck under your pillow or hang over your bed. Get a good night’s sleep and wake up refreshed!

Insomnia-Be-Gone!

INGREDIENTS

Pick and choose some of the following herbs. I typically use a mixture of about 4, or whichever I happen to have on hand at the time. I try to avoid too many at once because that results in an overwhelming scent.

Anise - Known to repel nightmares.

Calendula – Brings about a good night’s sleep.

Cedar – Calms the mind and wards off bad dreams.

Chamomile – One of the most powerful sleep herbs on the list.

Jasmine – Gives good dreams, but can cause erotic dreams in women.

Lavender – The ultimate in stress relief herbs.

Lemon Balm – Stress relieving sleep aid.

Mugwort – Helps ward off bad dreams.

Mullein – Can be used to protect against bad dreams or psychic attack.

Rose petals – Brings about dreams of love. Can also cause erotic dreams if used too heavily.

Next, gather the following stones.

Clear Quartz — Who doesn’t love clear quartz? It’s like an energy booster for your other stones.

Amethyst — This gem helps guard against nightmares, but also helps soothe an overactive mind and wipes away the stress of the day (or week).

Rose Quartz — Bring in some of rose quartz’ love and peace. This brings deep, restorative sleep and over time can build self-love and overall happiness.

Lepidolite — Probably my most recommended stone. Lepidolite is like kryptonite to even the most super-est of stresses and depressions. It can stop obsessive thoughts, bring mood swings into line, and will upend dependency and mental anguish that might be keeping you up at night.

DIRECTIONS

Take the stones (little chips are just as good as big chunks) and place them in a bowl. Add any essential oils (many of the floral herbs are more fragrant in their oil form) and use your hands to roll the stones around until coated.  While doing so, focus your intent as soft pink or yellow (or whatever color is soothing to you) light radiating from your hands.

Next, add the remaining herbs. Continue to hand mix the ingredients while focusing your intent. Once thoroughly mixed, hold your hands over the bowl and really expand that “light” into a ball of positive, soothing energy.

If you’d like, say a quick invocation or spell. Something like:

When I lay me down to sleep

I ask of you my dreams to keep.

No more tossing, no more turning.

No more stress and questions burning.

Only rest and gentle sleep,

Until the morning’s dawn shall peep.

You can change the words to fit your needs, or skip it altogether. It doesn’t have to rhyme - that’s just a simple device some people use. Hell, it doesn’t even need to make sense, as long as it is you channelling your will into the mixture.

DO. NOT. RUSH. THIS. PART. Breathe. Let your will do its work.

Once you’ve imbued the mixture with your will, transfer it to a muslin bag or pouch. Hang near your bed or tuck under your pillow.

As a side-note, always feel free to experiment with this and any of my other recipes. This is what works for me. Maybe you find catnip or vervain soothing. Add it!  Maybe tourmaline is your power crystal. Add it!  And if you experiment with the recipe and find something that seems to work really well, let me know!

Best wishes,

The Hedge Wytch

Enchanting Books

I love to enchant things, books included. They hold such majesty and magic within them, anyway, so I feel that it may as well be harnessed and redirected into something equally as great!

It’s very simple in terms of energy work and what you need, so I’ll make the intro short and sweet: grab a book, practice with energy and enchanting, and determine your intent!

In order to enchant a book in the most effective way, you should choose one with an intent or connotation to what you plan to instill within it. For example, if I wanted to give a book the ability to help the reader leave their troubles behind for a while, I may choose a book such as The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, The Hobbit, or even something unrelated that I know would give the reader the desired affect (assuming you know them personally or are the intended reader).

I tend to carry books around with me, so I will choose comforting or ‘home-y’ books to read or hold while I am away from home. Some of these books are classically cozy, but others are unexpectedly put in that category because of my own life experiences.

Some ideas for you to use when enchanting books of any kind include, but are of course not limited to:

Enchant…

Textbooks to aid in…

memory and retention of info

energy and motivation in academics

peace during stressful exam seasons

Cookbooks to aid in…

inspiration to open and use them

the retention of learned skills

the memory to complete a recipe without having to keep looking at the page/focus

the radiation of happiness and warmth in your kitchen

Novels to aid in…

peace, relaxation, and tranquility no matter where you open it

focus or attentiveness if you want to read but are struggling with staying on task

feeling safe and secure in a new place (i.e., a school, home, etc.)

feeling regal (in regards to stories about royalty)

feeling strong and adventurous (in regards to stories about expeditions and adventures)

feeling creative (in regard to whimsical novels and stories)

Poetry anthologies to aid in…

eloquence and powerful language

beauty in your presentations or speeches

courage in expressing yourself boldly and unapologetically

feeling ethereal or soft (depending heavily on the book)

coping with feelings

attracting love, strength, etc.

Please feel free to add on to this post with your own ideas, experiences, and tips! Have fun enchanting your library!

Banish That A**Hole Spell

Banish That A**Hole Spell

Supplies:

Paper towel or paper

Black sharpie (banishment)

Yarn [thick kind that is really hard to cut] (binding)

A small container

Black Walnut oil (banishment)

Black pepper (protection, banishment)

Cayenne pepper (protection, banishment)

One rusty nail [or more, depending on how big your container is] (protection, banishment)

Vinegar (protection, banishing)

Bay Leaf (protection, banishing)

Black candle (protection, repels negativity, banishment)

Steps:

On the paper or paper towel, write down the name of the person you’re trying to banish. If you know their birthdate and/or zodiac sign, write that, too. I liked using paper towel because it’s absorbent and better absorbs the spell, I feel that’s the case anyways.

Tie the rope around it tightly, while thinking about binding that person from doing any more harm.

Stuff it into the container.

Add 3 - 9 drops of the walnut oil. Enchant it with the purpose written next to it. Add your peppers, enchant.

Place your rusty nail(s) in the container. Enchant.

Fill the container to the neck with vinegar. Ensure there is enough room to add your bay leaf, though. Enchant.

On your bay leaf, write banishment twice on one side and on the other, draw two Pentacles to seal it in. Stuff it in the container.

Light a black candle and drip the wax into the inside of the container lid. Let it turn gummy, not completely dried yet. Then screw it onto the bottle.

I placed it in the freezer afterwards to freeze the person from creating anymore harm. I wrote on the lid (since I’m not the only one in the house) “DON’T OPEN”

Powerful trinkets of protection - The Hag Stone.

Powerful Trinkets Of Protection - The Hag Stone.

Uses:

• Protection

• Warding

• Healing

• Perception

• Good luck

• Ridding nightmares

The Hagstone, also known by its other common names; Adder, fairy, seer, witch and Odin stones, are rocks with holes piercing thoroughly to the other side formed by running water.

They are incredible useful amulets and talisman and have been used for centuries alongside ritual and spell work.

Commonly desired objects of magical intention throughout older folklore - Some legends say that the holes are formed where serpents gather together and their venom erode it.

Other lore say that they bare the mark of spiritual beings and even more commonly known say looking through them will allow the wearer to see the unseen, particularly the fey.

They are also very good for finding lost things.

Due to the aliments they are formed in these stones are lovely allies, especially in dire times.

So where do you find them?

Rivers, creeks, streams, lakes and oceanside! As long as there is running water, there very likely well may be one near by.

The First Pride Was A Riot, More Specifically A Riot Against Police Violence. Trans Women Of Colour Like

The first pride was a riot, more specifically a riot against police violence. Trans women of colour like Marsha P. Johnson paved the way for the celebration of pride today. You cannot celebrate your pride this month, or any month if you aren’t also supporting Black Lives Matter and the riots going on against police violence right now. Us white LGBTQ+ need to stand up for our black siblings and their rights, their struggles. We need to amplify their voices and show any support we can.Hey! Better yet, reblog this version:

STOP PROMOTING CURSES. Magic should never be used to harm others. Period point blank. I don’t know why I have to say that in the first place. Bringing that much negative energy into your craft and into your life will only hurt you.

Hey, odd theme for a positivity post, but I had a thought. Many of us actively seek out and pay extra for “damaged” bones- deformed, pathological, weather worn. Because they’re unique, and that makes them special. You might feel like trash, but you’re somebody’s treasure.

10 bits of advice:

1. You’re not alone. A lot of people feel the way you do, but dont choose to hide it. Talk to someone about how you feel.

2. Be patient with yourself.

3. If your friend or classmate is weak in an area of study that you understand, help them. Explaining the topic strengthens your memory in it too.

4. Do things early. Do not pile you work up, it will only add to the stress.

5. Try to sleep early, your body needs to re-energise. Give it it’s time.

6. Speak to teachers, tutors or lecturers. Communication is great.

7. Friendships come and go. Don’t stress about it. Introduce yourself to someone and if that doesn’t work out don’t let that stop you from getting to know other people.
