The second game got spoiled for me too 😔

I became a fan when episode 1 aired in January, I liked one tiktok about it and then for some reason the algorithm put a clip of Joel’s death on my page the next day 😭 no spoiler warning or nothing. I ended up falling down the rabbit hole and watching all the game play so I could find out why it happened

Somehow my friend was able to go the entire season without any spoilers??? And she has no clue about what’s to come next season?? She’s got a big storm coming lmao

dude? that freaking sucks :( I didn't even like anything related to tlou on tiktok until after I watched it, I think? but I got spoilers for the show literally the day after it started airing, so the show also got spoiled for me.

I thought Sarah was gonna die later on, so let me tell you, her death hit even harder cause I thought she'd actually be in the show more :( I also knew about David beforehand? so everytime there was snow, I was terrified for Ellie. for the 6th episode, I was not calm or relaxed or anything, because there was snow everywhere, so when her and Joel split? I was STRESSING. I also knew Joel got injured? didn't know how, so I assumed he got bit? and then I saw scenes from the second game and figured he'd die because of it? like, obviously, he would, but I wasn't sure if it was a bite. so I assumed he'd die from whatever injury it was

but yeah, tiktok kept showing me stuff from the second game once I started saying I wasn't interested in the show stuff?? and there were no warnings or anything, so I knew of the golfing before I even watched anything. but everyone was calling it the golfing or saying the two went golfing, so I genuinely thought Joel and Ellie went golfing? I was very confused lmao also didn't realize it happened SO quickly??? I thought I'd have more time 😭 I also accidentally found out about Abby being the surgeon's daughter? that one's kinda my own fault, so I'm not mad about it, but it would've been nice to keep that a surprise. I also knew Ellie had a baby? did not know it was Dina's and just thought Ellie somehow got pregnant? saw a bunch of the birthday flashback scenes, but that one was happy, so I didn't mind that much. after a certain point, I decided I just needed to watch it before the whole thing got spoiled for me

your friend is so lucky??? she has a HUGE storm coming, oh my lord 😭😭😭 one of my friends also doesn't know what's coming and I am SO envious of her. like, she even offered to watch it so I could ramble to her about it? we love her so very much for that, but I told her to go into this blind. she did tell me that I'll be the first person she talks to when the season comes out, though! because this is my special little show (she told me this like twice, but it has just stuck with me hehe)

What are your thoughts about them replacing spores with the tendrils?

tbh I never realized the tendrils replaced the spores, anon

but that being said, I am a bit bummed there were no spores? it's not a hindrance to the show since I just realized after x amount of rewatches, but I think that could've added a nice layer to it, you know? like having to make sure everyone has gas masks? and shit, if one breaks? I do enjoy the tendrils, though! the horror of them all being connected??? I am SO glad that's not in the game

I wonder how they're gonna show that Ellie's immune to Dina? her mask broke, but masks aren't in the show. are they just gonna keep giving her bite marks??

Tendrils are horrifying, I wish they would’ve used them more in the show.

I understand their reasoning behind taking spores out, but it does suck because that brought in its own horrifying elements. The fact that if your mask breaks/ even cracks a small bit you’re screwed.

I also wonder how they’ll do part 2. Dina finding out about Ellie? Will they just have her get bit again? Nora realizing Ellie is immune? Such a cool (and very dark) scene, I’m not sure how they’ll do that

I agree!! they added such a horrific layer to the show, but they didn't show a whole lot of it? hoping they add it more to the next seasons 🤞🏻

I completely forgot that's how Nora found out, too, omg. are they just gonna cover our girl in bites? I really hope they don't. I wonder if they'll add spores to the next seasons? or maybe they'll make a different "strand"? like, instead of spores, maybe through water? if an infected died in water, then wham pow, the water's infected. I do not know, I guess we shall find out

the long awaited giraffe plushes of the Last of Us post!

I am obsessed with the headcanon of Ellie, or Joel, finding one on a patrol and noticed there's a bunch in the games, so here are the screenshots :)

first, Sarah had a giraffe behind her door :(

then, there was a kid playing with one in the QZ, when you're going after Robert. (they actually hold the plush closer if you get too close)

with Sam and Henry, there are 2! the first one is in one of the bedrooms on a dresser. it's actually lined up with a bunch of other plushies! the second one is in the toy store, when Ellie grabs the toy robot that Henry made Sam put back :)

still with Sam and Henry, but specifcally with the sniper, there's another big boy! and a painting/drawing of one that I felt I had to include!

at the Lakeside Resort, there's a little arcade building (I think that's what it is? I always run through it as fast as I possibly can) and there's a little giraffe on the floor by the claw machine.

on the way to the hospital, there's a sign for giraffes! so honourary inclusion of that!

and of course, we have to include to the actual giraffe scene :) I have it to where they're wearing the fits from game 2 (I am doing just fine with this, too, just fine /sarc), but yes! here you go!

I do believe the beginning is Joel confiding in Tommy about Ellie already drifting? it could be just him telling Tommy what happened, but I think there's more to it. he has the guitar and he's cleaning it a little bit and then he gets back to Jackson, and Ellie's already moved out. she's already in the garage, so that had to have been right off the bat. this also means that the whole time she's being taught how to play, she's not even in the main house 😭 which gives her more time and chances to ignore him and resent him. and also gives her more time to think about what him saving her really means D: I'm normal
