Q&A: Bowynn Magic
QUESTION: In the Bowynn Tradition, are there any special corrospondences with herbs, plants, flowers and such?
ANSWER: There is a special recognition of certain flora, that is commonly used in magic and incense blends. But they by no way match the lists one will find in a Wiccan book or match those listed by other culture. There are 7 sacred plants that are commonly used and considered the most sacred:
ROSE: Used for all fire magic, Love spells, Friendship, Family, Unity, Bonding, Oaths, Commitment, Beauty
CEDAR: Purification, Purging, Cleansing, Strength, Growth, Learning, Wisdom,
LAVENDAR: Calm, Sleep, Peace, Clear thinking, Clarity,
MINT: Excitement, Energy, Stimulation, Waking, Vitality, Wealth/Abundance,
BAY LAUREL: Magic, Shamanism, Divination, Wishes, Understanding, Divination, Scrying, Spiritualism, Psychism
PINE: Change, Immortality, Endurance, Altering, Taking Control,
APPLE: The most sacred plant. Home, Abundance, Stability, Health, Education, Protection,
The other most sacred of flora and other burnable materials of the earth are the following three:
AMBER: Sun Magic, Ancient Wisdom, Oracles, Warmth, Self, Soul, Intervention,
BLUE BELL: Rain, Water Magic, Springtime, Change, Growth, Renew, Warning, Fertility
DAISY: Moon Magic, Cleansing, Purity, Spirituality, Sleep, Dreams
Amber is listed as 'Flora', as it comes from the sap of ancient trees. These three combined make up the colors of the Bowynn Crest. These ten plants/trees/flowers are what is burned most during religious ceremonies and magical practices.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: Myst's Tools of the Trade
QUESTION: Do Myst's use wands and staves like Witches?
ANSWER: In short the answer is "Yes." However a true Myst learns at the starts of knowing that the roof of all magic is in themselves and that should be enough. In the Bowynn Tradition a Myst may have a wand to amplify their powers. So, a Thavos [wand] Vlest [rod] or a Thald [staff] is commonly used. Usually a Myst will have two: one of projection and one forwarding & drawing out. However, mysts know very well, they have this power in them already. A wand is used in more urgent needs, like healing, injustice, cursing and warding off a malicious person or Tii.
Q&A: Moon Worship
QUESTION: Does the Bowynn Faith/Tradition have respectful days devoted to The Moon and Morrighynn?
ANSWER: In the Bowynn faith, we do honor Morrighynn highly. But if you are pertaining to worship like Wiccan "Drawing down the Moon" ceremonies; then the answer is 'No." We do not celebrate Full Moons. We do recognize the power of the moon and the blessings of her ladyship. However, what some Bowynn may do, is simply moon-soak. That is to say we will bask in the light of the moon if we are compelled to do so. We allow its energy to soak into our bodies and its it cleanse and heal. But there is no formal ceremony. We do not "Draw do the Moon" as we see it is very disrespectful to our lady Morrighynn, as well as to the Thracians, Northern Hellen (Greek) an Aegyptian cultures who performed these practices. We see and feel the power of the moon without taking from it. And not just the full moons, but all phases.
BOWYNN GODS: VADYSS

Vadyss (Vah-dys) God of Duannat who separates the Soul, Spirit and Body before it travels on to Daunnat. Son of Chumash and Kalma, he is considered one of the funerary gods of the Bowynn faith. Being that the body itself is no longer functional, it cannot travel to Daunnat. This is where Vadyss comes in and with his power the Soul and Spirit separate from the body and it is these that Heron takes on to Daunnat, leaving the mortal husk of the deceased for the mortal world.
Vadyss is the eldest of the funerary gods of Daunnat. As such, his appearance is that of a father figure; a man of great stature, said to be bald but bearing a beard and moustache. His clothes are said to be black robes and, in his hand, he holds a staff. Sacred to Vadyss is mainly incense but many offer flowers to him as well.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS: Triple Dieties
QUESTION: Are there any Goddesses that form a triune/trinity in your faith?
ANSWER: No. But that's not to say one may pray to three gods at the same time. But that is more likely because at that moment someone needs to help of the three gods in question. Particularly when it comes to health. But there are no Bowynn gods/goddesses that are seen as a "Divine trinity" like the Greeks and Kelts.
