eren’s small hand—even though it was big enough to cover yours—wrapped around your wrist before it tugged you through the crowd. your rapid breaths were all you could hear while you mentally prayed to make it on time, just a couple more steps and you would be within reach, already staring at armin’s frightened face which caused your heart to jump. but what finally managed to send you in a state of despair was the sight of eren shoving the bigger kid away.

xiao is a distant yandere at first.

he does not make his presence known to you very often; choosing to move hidden in the shadows where you can’t piece together that strange events are from his influence.

the yaksha is aware of his actions, he simply does not care to apply human values to what he does.

his hands are stained with war – stained with the blood of the innocent he’s slain with the jade spear he wields on his back. no mortal thing such as morals could apply to him, not with all the sin that drowns his being.

to him you are a gift from celestia, an apology from the archons after they tore his sanity to shreds. you are something he delves in selfishly, feasting on your kindhearted nature that purifies him with every sigh. after fate so cruelly ripped away his comrades he is inclined to never let you go no matter how much you plead and scream at him.

although of most of the time you can’t see him, amber eyes haunt your dreams far too much that over time you are less inclined to sleep outside. you shiver when teyvat goes too quiet, the whisper of the wind making hair rise on the back of your neck.

he captures you one day out of pure impulse. you’re wrapping your wounds perched against a tree when he finally appears before you; whether you are familiar with the adeptus or not he will take you without a second thought.

xiao will not try to win your affection; you are a person he must protect, he does not care if you enjoy his company or not as long as he has you.

however if you do start to fall for the yaksha, the cold demeanour he has like a shield cracks immediately under the weight of your affection.

carefully, you cup xiao’s face with your hands, squishing his cheeks slightly that it almost looks comical on the usually serious man.

“what is the meaning of this.” his tone is full of bite, the polearm he holds gives a soft green glow over both your faces.

“nothing,” you say truthfully, “i just like looking at you.”

how does he love?

yandere xiao loves much more intensely then his usual self would, the need to take and consume fills him far faster then a simple dream ever could.

you will not be allowed human contact. he knows what people of liyue—the people of teyvat—can do and the mere thought of someone putting their hands on you enrages him. if you try to tell him desperately that there are some good in people, he won’t believe you. even if xiao does agree he will never tell you that, preferring to keep you trapped in one spot he knew you could never leave.

he would not force himself on you, you being there beside him is enough.

if you do consent and return his feelings, you could say it’s like opening a door you can never close again. as soon as he returns from defending liyue he’ll slide a hand around your back and waist and keep you on the bed for hours.

he simply can’t get enough of you.

his kisses turn from aggressive and passionate to slow and sensual. nonetheless you’ll be pinned under him until he has you dizzy from love.

in bed xiao will grip your thighs hard enough to bruise as a rough reminder of who you belong to. he does not hesitate to lean down and bite on the dip in your shoulder hard enough to bleed so when it scabs over there will be a claiming scar left behind.

if you decide to try to escape, it will be your first and last attempt at doing so.

he’ll watch you from afar; watch you scamper and run from wangshu inn’s territory in a desperate attempt to find someone far out of liyue to help.

eventually as he expected you fall into the hands of the treasure hoarders. a malicious bunch truly—they’ll tie you down and threaten awful things all while weighing the price of your person on the black market in front of your face. xiao will watch and watch until you’re calling out his name in a rushed plea to save yourself.

and he will appear because why would he let anyone else touch you? and without mercy he’ll slay the men in front of your very eyes. the outcome is gruesome; the bodies strewn across the grass as blood quickly begins to soil and turn brown. xiao will peel off his mask and regard you carefully.

“now do you see?”

of course, you can’t go without punishment.

it does not matter how many times you apologize— by the end of the day your wrists and ankles will be shattered.

he won’t mind your cries, holding your body close to his as you sob from the pain of your broken bones. they’ll be wrapped in bandages, but even with that and the medication he fed you hours ago the throb is unbearable.

xiao will turn you over from your side, lean down, and kiss you to stifle your wails.

“now do you see that i am the only one who can protect you?”

over time your joints will heal but they will never feel quite right.

there will always be a jolt of pain whenever you overexert yourself; standing for too long becomes a chore on your newly healed ankles, running away is not even a possibility anymore.

xiao will show no regret for his actions, especially since it ultimately pulled you two closer together.

eventually out of desperation he’ll beg the archons for you to have immortality—something similar to qiqi because the thought of losing you to death makes him sick.

when he tells you this you can’t help but nearly cry at the suggestion.

“not even death will keep us apart,” xiao says as he grips your hands one evening. “we’ll be together for as long as celestia allows.”
