Admit it you always hated zayn.

NOT EVEN. Zayn was my 3/5, (Harry and Louis obviously being tied in first place), light-years ahead of Niall and Liam. 

He has an incredible voice, he is SO. GOD. DAMN. PRETTY and larryappreciation can attest to the fact that I literally said ‘oh my god’ and grabbed her arm, every time Zayn came on the big screens at the Sydney shows, because of how blown away I was by his gorgeous, gorgeous face. 

My frustration and anger with Zayn has literally nothing to do with him leaving the band; hell, you gotta do what you gotta do, and if going solo, or having a private non-famous life is what was going to make him happy, then so be it, BUT he turned on Louis, publicly, viciously and out of fucking nowhere and for that, he earned my ire.

I loved his friendship with Louis… but that’s why I got (and still am) so angry with him. When he waded into that twitter brawl and sided with Shahid, he was effectively co-signing everything that Shahid had said to Louis, including him saying that Louis couldn’t sing and wasn’t as talented as the rest of the members of 1D - the exact things that Louis had specifically articulated were his fears, when he wasn’t given any solos during The X Factor. Now either somehow in his 4.5 year friendship with Zayn, Louis’ lack of confidence in his voice and his place in the band didn’t come up once (impossible), OR Zayn knew that for Louis, these were the horrible, confidence-dissolving thoughts that gnaw on your brain in times of self-doubt… and he decided that he was on-board with Shahid publicly saying them to Louis anyway. 

Just imagine what that would have been like for Louis. Imagine having a public fight with a friend of a friend, where they slag you off and say awful, cut-you-to-the-quick things about you, only to have your mutual friend, a person who you thought you were closer to, a person who knows just how hard those words hit you, side with the other person, and effectively tell you to fuck off out of their life. Actually imagine what that would be like. 

Not to mention, the fact that Zayn called him bitchy - a word that is gender and queer-coded out the wazoo and if not a deliberate swipe, then certainly a subconscious one. When was the last time you heard of a straight guy being accused of being bitchy?

Again, I loved Zayn and was sad, but on board with him leaving the band peacefully, right up until the exact moment he went for Louis’ throat. That one tweet to Louis caused extreme whiplash for my feelings about Zayn and his subsequent behaviour over the past few months, and yes, the way his fall-out with Shahid has played out today, has cemented to me the fact that I don’t like the way Zayn is behaving and that he needs to get his shit together, before he alienates everyone in his life. 

Do I think Zayn is a bad person? No. Do I think he’s acting like a bad person right now? Hell yes. 

Just because I’m angry with Zayn’s behaviour, doesn’t mean that I never liked him. Your assumption only goes to prove that shows that you’re intent on hiding in a bubble of ‘well of course they’re criticising, they never liked him’, instead of listening to why people are angry about what he’s done. Look at what he’s doing. Accept it as reality. Unpick it to understand why it’s not okay and stop blaming people who are frustrated with his bad behaviour and unwilling to put up with it any more.

also does anyone else look up definitions for words you 100% already know but check anyway like 3 times to make sure you don’t use it wrong and make a fool of yourself
