lovers in the garden
Sometimes a family isn’t a man and a woman and their two point five children. Sometimes it’s you, your friend, her weird little brother, an old guy who likes plants, your bratty little cousin, his father who tries his best to be there for him but never got over the death of his wife in childbirth, and a very haunted garden that nobody’s allowed into.

There are many theories about the origin of the name of Pallas Athena but my favourite one is that Athena was in a close relationship with Pallas, the daughter of her guardian, Triton. One day when the two women were sparring Pallas was mortally wounded. In her sorrow, Athena created the palladium and took Pallas’ name as her own.

Elizabeth of York by @bevsi, for @marthajefferson
Elizabeth was intelligent and beautiful. A Venetian report described her as “a very handsome woman of great ability, and in conduct very able,” beloved for her abundant “charity and humanity”. The humanist scholar Erasmus described her in one word: “brilliant”. That there was affection and tenderness between Henry and Elizabeth cannot be doubted. [x]
