It wasn’t unlike Harry to wander. In fact, wandering was among his favorite things; whether through lush, flowered fields or along the jagged shoreline of the beach. Often, he’d wander aimlessly through big cities and tiny towns, preferring the latter where he likely wouldn’t be bothered, left to his own devices and imagination. In his opinion, there was always something new to discover. You agreed.

His vision captured it all with ease. It was simple for someone like him, a man who perceived the beauty in everything, a person who realized that opportunity waited in all spaces and time. His insatiable lust for life was one of his loveliest qualities.

chapter one: meet harry

“I would rather shit in my hands and clap.”

Jeffrey Azoff laughed, shoulders shaking as he covered his mouth. After staring at his usually good-natured friend (and client), he spoke. “ Harry, now let’s be reasonable.” 

Harry casually spun in his chair near the mixing board, lids fluttering closed over striking green eyes. He rubbed at his temples as he absorbed the information his manager had just passed along. He’d been enjoying his studio time at Los Angeles’ own Westlake Recording Studio until Jeff had said what he’d said. “This is me being reasonable. I could’ve said a lot worse…” 

“Didn’t you two used to be friends?”

“Past tense, sure. That was a long time ago.” Time he’d erase from his memory completely, if only he could. Winter Carter could go directly to hell, as far as he was concerned. Just the thought of her. God. But he wasn’t bitter. Right?

“What happened?”
