Ninjago: Coles Goodbye
Ninjago: Cole’s Goodbye
Cole tracked down the whereabouts of the baby’s mother where he was stolen from. Here he must return the baby.
Cole really hated his heart sometimes. Especially right now.
The nicely painted door in front of him was just an arm length away, but his heart didn’t want him to knock. While his mind was as solid as a boulder, his heart was only so close to being shattered like dried clay dropped on concrete. So many times he had to pick up those pieces and rearrange them to resemble a heart, but there were always cracks, holes where the piece was lost forever. He knew as soon as that door opened, his heart would drop and shatter all over the family’s nice welcome door mat.
The small blanket he held close to his chest began to squirm a little bit. Cole looked down and watched as the small baby’s mouth widened into a yawn. “Hey there, little guy…” Cole whispered down at the small face. As if Cole’s words were the greatest sound to the child’s ears, the small eyes opened and locked onto Cole’s face. A small crack reopened in Cole’s heart as the baby grinned and let loose one of his most beloved giggles. “Yes, it’s good to see you too…” Cole murmured.
His gaze drifted back to the door, still a knock away. If he did…
He had to. It was the right thing to do. Before he could overthink like he usually did, he reached out and gave the door a few good knocks. The baby squirmed some, trying to get Cole’s attention back. After the knocking Cole looked back down and rocked the baby in his arms, trying to get the most of every last moment he had with his closest friend for the past week.
Even the snap of the lock couldn’t tear Cole’s gaze away from the small smiling face. It was the bang of the door that drew his gaze away.
A woman with her hair tied up in a disastrous bun glared out the door like she would have preferred the knock to have never of come. “What do you wa-“
Her gaze dropped to the bundle. Suddenly her angered gaze softened. “Oh my….is that?”
Feeling his heart slip a tad, he extended the bundle out. “I’m sorry we couldn’t get him to you sooner-“
With a gasp of pure joy, she reached out and took the child into her arms. Cole’s heart broke even farther. The smile on the baby’s face only faltered enough so that it could recognize that he was in the arms of his own mother.
“Mom, what is it?” A new voice called from the house and a small girl appeared at the doorway. She took one glance at the baby in her mother’s arms before noticing Cole. “You…” her face lit up. “You’re a ninja!”
That made the mother’s gaze snap up. “Is that true?” she whispered.
Cole’s eyes drifted to the baby. “I’m…I’m the Master of Earth.”
The girl grinned giddily and tugged on her mom’s long skirt. “He’s my favorite mom,” she whispered. The mom kept her gaze with Cole. Cole, however, couldn’t look away from the baby.
His throat was tight. “I promise I took great care of him,” he croaked.
She walked closer to him, and inspected the tears brimming in his eyes. “I believe you,” she responded. “I wouldn’t have trusted anyone else with him.”
The baby’s eyes were back on Cole. Even at the young age that he was, the fading smile made Cole believe that even the baby knew this could be the last he sees of Cole.
Cole’s heart shattered as soon as the baby began to cry.
“Oh, no no no…” The mother tried to coo the child and rock it, but Cole knew that was not the way to calm that baby. The baby’s squinting eyes were fixed on Cole, wailing it’s sorrow for his companion.
The older sister covered her ears to block out the wailing. The mother was rocking the child and talking calmly to it, but Cole knew what he had to do.
“Go to sleep my little one….” His voice was tight and a little of key, but he got all the words out. The cry died down as it always did so that the baby could hear the beautiful lullaby. The mother looked up at Cole in shock.
“Sleep until again there’s sun
Hear my voice, you’re safe with – her
Just as you know we were
Don’t be scared, and please don’t cry
Always remember my lullaby.”
A tear rolled down his cheek. He didn’t want to cry in front of them – he was stronger than that- but he had a feeling this would be the last he would see of the child he got to know so well.
And as his calm yet sorrow-filled song ended, he watched as the baby blinked again at Cole before looking back up at his mom. Mouth still ajar with shock, she looked down at her now perfectly calm baby. The older sister’s hands slowly slid down from her ears.
“You can sing too?” she exclaimed excitedly. “You are so my favorite ninja.”
A grin played at the ninja’s lips. He looked back at the mother. Taking in a sharp breath, he said, “You have a great child, really special. I’m glad he’s back home.” He turned to leave.
“Wait…sir?”
He hesitated. He turned back while quickly wiping his cheeks. The mom had taken a step towards him. “What’s…your name?” she asked.
“C-Cole,” he responded. He glanced at the daughter, who had rolled her eyes at her mom’s ignorance.
The mother smiled. “It’s perfect..” she whispered as she looked down at the baby. “Thank you for bringing…Cole…home.”
Is it possible for someone to repair a broken heart that fast? He felt the grin grow on his face, knowing that even as he said goodbye it was not a goodbye to start his never-ending heartbreak, but a goodbye to a life that is about to be just as amazing as his.
He nodded to the family before turning and running down the street. With a quick leap, he took a hold of a ledge and pulled him up to the rooftops before flipping out of sight.

I think Zane is...

OMG. HE IS STUCK TO A COBWEB XD

(I know it’s not the best, but bear with me.)
First of all, Kai what the fuck? How did you get up those stairs so fast?
Second, Zane what are you looking at? And why are you standing on the furniture?
T^T I CAN RELATE TO ECHO IN THIS FANFIC
Amazing fanfic by the way
Stars
The duo sat on the roof, watching the stars.
“Every time a person passes away, their soul will join the many others above them. Those are the stars, Echo.”
“Stars?”
“Yes. Each star is special. Do you see the one that is flying very fast? That is a shooting star. You can make a wish, and the angel will make it come true! Maybe it will, maybe it won’t. But who knows? We can just try.”
“Hmmmm—I wish for you to be with me forever and ever!”
Dr. Julien smiled. “I believe the angel will try, my son.”
They spent nights talking about the stars, and their wishes they had made. Some were funny, like Dr. Julien wishing for some noodles, or Echo wishing for ketchup.
They enjoyed the time they had together.
The duo sat on the roof, watching the stars.
The Destiny’s Bounty hovered in the sky, clouds drifting by.
“You seem tired, brother,” Echo said, watching his brother. “S-should you go back inside?”
Zane shook his head. “I-it’s alright…” he mumbled, watching the clouds bob by them. “I…just wanted to show you the stars tonight…” He tilted his head to the sky. “Aren’t they beautiful?”
Echo smiled a bit, nuzzling against his brother’s side. “Mhm.”
Zane sighed, watching the stars instead. “Do…you recall father telling you about the stars?”
“That each star is a fallen soul which is starting a new journey in the sky?”
Zane nodded, playing with the hood of Echo’s hoodie. “Y-yeah…I…I think I…it’s nothing.”
“Are you alright, brother?” Echo asked, looking at Zane with worried eyes. “You seem more tired than usual.”
Zane chuckled. “I’m alright, I’m alright. I…just wanted to tell you something…about that….the stars…”
“Yeah?” Echo asked, snuggling closer to his brother.
“That…everyone will join the stars sometime in their life. Father told me…before he left us…” Zane stated, looking down at the city. “And…I think that my time is going to come soon.” He looked at Echo, a small smile on his face. “Echo…I-I’m going home,” he mumbled, eyes dulling a little.
“N-no!” Echo shouted, realizing what his brother meant. “I am not letting you do this! You are home! With us! With the team!”
“Father…is also up there…”
“I don’t care! You’re my brother!”
“Heh…not everything can stay, Echo…not even family…”
Silence resumed between the two brothers. Zane rested his head against Echo’s head and sighed, his breath becoming slower. Echo hugged Zane tightly, burying his head in Zane’s chest.
“I…don’t want you to go…” Echo said, artificial tears starting to form.
“D-do you want me to tell you a bit about the stars before I go…?”
Echo looked up at his brother. Zane was struggling not to pass out, but he was still smiling. Echo bit his lip, and then nodded.
“Okay.”
They talked about the stars, and the wishes they had made in the past. They talked about the angels in the skies, and about the constellations. With every sentence, Zane’s words were becoming slurred and softer.
Echo noticed.
But he didn’t want to let go just yet.
“Do…you wanna go to sleep, brother?” Echo softly asked, looking up at his brother. Zane smiled a tiny bit and shook his head.
“I…want to stay here with you…” he mumbled, his voice barely audible.
“You don’t have to,” Echo replied, looking away. “You’re tired. You stayed here for me when I needed you.”
Silence. Something slumped against him.
Echo blinked and looked over to his side. Zane was slumped against him, eyes closed. His breath was heavy, each breath having the potential to be his last.
“I…I’m sorry…Echo…” Zane mumbled, coughing a bit. “Guess my power source finally ran out…huh…”
“I love you, big bro,” Echo softly said, holding Zane tightly. “I’m sorry. For making you stay up. But it’s alright. You can go to sleep now. It’s alright. I promise.”
Zane smiled. “Hmm…” He relaxed in Echo’s grasp, head resting on top of his younger brother’s.
“Z-zane?”
The master of ice opened his eyes a bit, the dull throb in his chest fading away, numbness replacing it.
“Mhm?”
“D-do you think you can tell Dad I said ‘hello’ and I miss him?”
He could feel everything slowly stopping. Gears grinding, coming to a halt.
Zane chuckled. “Of course, brother…”
I promise.
He sighed, relaxing.
He could finally rest peacefully…
Silence.
Echo sat there, watching the stars fade away. Zane was still resting next to him, no longer moving.
He didn’t mind.
Zane was happier now.
As the stars faded, a small shimmer caught Echo’s eye. It was a small pale blue star, unlike the others.
He hoped Zane was up there.
With the stars.
