I made a post on the following but it took forever and never was posted since the video was so long but his words disgusting and vile. And before this he was talking about how they needed a vaccine which was, I assume not recorded.

He really went as far as to degrading the Asian community and BTS, which is not at all acceptable. The fact Coldplay gave the rights to BTS to cover their song 'fix you' is such a big thing in itself because they never really let any artists do so, and it just proves how BTS has such recognition to them. They don't make music, they make art. And seems like Coldplay knows that.

I was over on Twitter and I’m surprised that this isn’t being talked about more on Tumblr but here’s the story:

A German radio host named Matthias Matuschik (on air at Bayern3) compared Kpop group BTS to Covid-19 after their cover of Coldplay’s “Fix You” on MTV Unplugged and said he hoped there would be a vaccine for them soon. This was among many other racist remarks that he made including that they should spend a 20 year vacation in North Korea. He said he wasn’t racist because ‘he owns a South Korean brand car’ (according to some sources his car is actually a Japanese car).

regardless of your opinions on BTS or Kpop, these remarks are completely unacceptable and 100% xenophobic. He made a half assed apology that boiled down to “I’m sorry people were offended but I was just stating an opinion“. He’s made Anti-Semitic comments before as well.
