Am I there only one who’s weirdly attracted to Thirdy from Check Please? Like I can’t explain it, he’s a pretty minor character, but he’s just so nice, and respectful of Jack and Bitty, and he’s dedicated, and he rights poems, and he’s not looking to bad for “one of the old guys” idk it’s late, and when it’s late I make dumb posts.

The Rector Garb reminds me a lot of the Hexside uniforms and that makes me happy, and thank you for all of these minuscule details. You clearly understand how amazing it is to have this many meticulous, world-building factoids.

Jenny's hair is in a ponytail to differentiate her and Eigan's silhouettes. (Read: there can be maximum ONE cunty bob in a friend group. And Eigan is prince.)

Jenny's fanny pack has saved lives. She and Xavyn figured out some very complicated rune magic, and it can receive messages like an armillary sphere. (So yes, sometime there will just be a letter in her hip bag. (Eigan has an gardener/alchemist's satchel, Teddy has a JANSPORT.) Their bags are filled with Terrestrial composition notebooks, potions and balms, sextants and stellar protractors and compasses and graphite sticks, and subterranean plants from Mercury that Captain Aubrey asked for.

Captain Aubrey asks Jenny if she can sew a mission patch for the cohort. ("You know! Mission patches!" Captain Aubrey pointed to a patch on his chest.) Jenny's design is predictably adorable but chaotic, and does include a small threaded cartoon head of Professor Hephaestus floating in space. Captain Aubrey declares that it is perfect. She uses a duplication cast to make 15. The bravest thing Jenny Sun has ever done is ask Prof. Hephaestus if he wanted a cohort mission patch.

(He did want one. Hephaestus wanted two but restrained himself.)

Between the three of them, Eigan is the only one who wears the full traditional rector's apprentice garb, and he always wears the full traditional garb because he's Eigan and the proper traditional thing to do is wear the full traditional rector's apprentice garb. (Also it's a flattering fit.)

The garb is highly encouraged. Hephaestus demands that the students wear the full garments out on excursions because (a) second gold gauntlets, sundog hide boots, and magically-treated sorn trousers are effectively basic armor. (Sundog hide is very rare and magically repellant, especially.) And (b) he looks cool when all of his apprentices are all dressed up.

Teddy took one look at the half cape and went "yeah i'm not fucking wearing that."

Teddy shows up to most lectures and debates with a grungy sweater over his rector's shirt/robes. (Hephaestus just sighs at him at this point. This Martian is so done.)

The first time Eigan shows up to lecture in a T-shirt, Hephaestus talks to Tom about it for 3 hours.

I just finished Kaguya-Sama Love is War,

for my first anime I picked an amazing one. It was so funny, inventive, dynamic, and beautiful. Everything about its story and characters and animation was top notch and I now have a very high curiosity for anime. Thank you Schaffrillas for talking about the show.
