This is a headcanon of mine, that might be close to canon: Returno (aka Pops, according to many in the fandom), before going back to Elfwood, lived for a while in Steamland selling sweets with Elfo that was too little to remember.

I used the portrait at the League of Gallivanting Scrutinators that appears in 3x04 “Steamland Confidential” as reference.

Rereading LOTR and rewatching all the movies (The Hobbit included), I'm so much into it right now and I'm collecting reference pictures for my next art... a Merrywyn! 💛

I love this pairing for a bunch of reasons: they are best friends, they care deeply for each other, they diverge from the aesthetic standards, they are a biracial couple, they reverse gender tropes, he’s shorter than her, she’s the strong one, he’s the sweet one, and I’m definitely a sucker for slow burn.
