Villain was staring at the ceiling. They forgot again. They forgot Villain's birthday.

They're used to it. Of course they are. But they hoped that at least Supervillain would remember it. After all, they love them.

Supervillain was working late. Again. As if this day wasn't special at all.

They're not going to be home until midnight. At least that's what they said. But the opening of the front door suggested otherwise.

Villain raised their head. Footsteps echoed through the house and stopped behind them. Before Villain could do anything, someone pulled a sack over their head. They kicked and punched, but the other one was much stronger than them.

"Happy birthday, darling"

Supervillain pulled the sack off of Villain's head. As their eyes adjust to the light, Villain finds themself in front of a set table. In the middle of the table is a black cake with Villain's name on it. Next to the cake is a covered tray.

Supervillain steps next to the tray and lifts the cloth that covered it.

On the tray is the dead body of the Hero, dressed in beautiful clothes, as if smiling. Tied on their wrist is a red bow.

Viialin's eyes fill with tears.

"You don't like it?" Supervillain sounds a little worried.

"That's... the nicest thing anyone ever done for me..."

Supervillain sighs in relief.

"Anything for you, darling"

Villain hated winter. The snow, the cold. Everything was so white and bright and... clear. They hated it.

Yet they are still here. In the knee-deep snow. Looking for the Hero. And they don't really know why.

The Villain haven't seen them in a few days. They started to worry when they didn't come when they blew up a building. They usually do. But not this time.

Villain hated to admit, but (if only a little) they cared for the Hero. Their Hero...

They didn't want them to get hurt. Not if by someone else.

So they were out in the cold forest almost for hours to find that idiot. Their idiot...

The villain got more and more annoyed and cold with every second. They were thinking about going home and letting the Hero be wherever they are.

Suddenly they blood froze. And not from the cold.

They see bloody tracks in the knee-deep snow in front of them. Their worst guesses are confirmed as they follow the tracks.

A few meters away, they see the Hero's body. Covered with deep wounds and blood. They don't move, not even wince when Villain squats down next to them.

This can't be real... This can't happen...

The Villain's heart sinks as he turns the Hero on his back to get a better look at the wounds. Their first thought is to help them. To embrace them. To take them home. To tend to their wounds. To take care of them.

So they carefully reach under them and lift them up, being careful not to cause pain. As the Hero's body twitches from their touch, a huge, unstoppable, pure rage overwhelms them. They want to know who did this. A name, an address, anything information about that bastard that dared to hurt the Hero. Their Hero...

Hero hides their face in villain's chest. They continue to sob and draw even closer to the criminal. Villain strokes their head soothingly.

"I love you..." Hero murmurs.

"You can't..."

"But I do..."

Villain sights painfully.

"I know…"
