I want to know their story so badly.

Did they evolve together? Did the lantern-bearers find the woodlings, or perhaps the other way around? Could it be possible that the lantern-bearers were there for a long time and got the privilege of watching the woodlings grow? Are the lantern-bearers guardians to the woodlings, angels who dwell in the shadows? Can they not reveal themselves to the woodlings?

It seems that the lantern-bearers are enormous in comparison to the woodlings, larger than the Inhabitants even. Whatever that glowing blue well is, it's most definitely sacred to the lantern-bearers. It could be a temple, a rite-of-passage destination, or even just their home. What do the stones symbolize? They seem riddled with markings.

Whatever the case may be in this bright, new universe, there's this abundant essence of care and gentleness to these creatures. Like the lantern-bearers spiritually took up the mantle of the Inhabitants and righted every wrong they made. No more shame, no more disdain or hostility, no more pain. These beings approach the world around them with sensitivity and curiosity, even if they aren't quite ready to leave the comfort of the shadows, there's always the future ahead of them.
