     𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠  𝐢𝐧  𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬  𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞  𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞  𝐚𝐧𝐲  𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞  𝐚𝐭  𝐚𝐥𝐥.     they  still  had  no  idea  how  they  ended  up  here,  who  or  what  managed  to  bring  them  into  a  world  that  clearly  wasn't  theirs  and  having  to  come  face  to  face  with  versions  of  herself  that  were  so  similar  and  yet  extremely  different  at  the  same  time.     this  version  of  her  though?     she  was  dark  and  twisted,  powerful  in  a  way  that  made  her  curious  as  to  how  she  managed  it  but  also  felt  like  it  was  all  so  out  of  control,  but  it  just  made  her  more     𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝     to  make  sure  she  never  ended  up  like  her.     it  didn't  matter  what  happened,  she  could  never  let  herself  become  like  the  woman  in  front  of  her.     it  was  terrifying,  to  see  what  she  could've  become     .     .     .     or  could  still  become  if  something  really  terrible  happened.     she  would  have  to  try  to  make  an  active  choice  to  continue  to  do  the  right  thing  no  matter  how  hard  that  may  be.

     𝐬𝐡𝐞  𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝  𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐲  𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤  𝐚𝐭  𝐡𝐞𝐫  𝐟𝐨𝐫  𝐭𝐨𝐨  𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠,     it  was  almost  like  it  was  too  difficult  because  she  was  her,  but  she  wasn't  her.     it  wasn't  like  the  other  annie  she  had  met,  the  one  who  was  with  butcher,  they  understood  each  other.     this  version  of  her?     well,  she  was  a  nightmare  and  she  made  her  skin  crawl.     it  was  like  she  had  given  into  every     𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤  𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐬𝐞     that  she  had  resisted.     annie  could  only  imagine  how  much  destruction  this  starlight  and  her  homelander  had  caused  this  world.     was  it  possible  whoever  brought  them  all  here  was  to  stop  them?     it  was  questions  to  which  they  hadn't  quite  got  the  answers  yet.     but  she  was  determined  to  find  a  way  out  of  this  and  get  them.     those  answers  could  get  them  home,  though  she  also  knew  she  couldn't  go  back  until  they  had  found  a  way  to  stop  this  starlight  and  homelander.

     𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲  𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠  𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫  𝐚𝐭  𝐡𝐞𝐫,     dark  eyes  focusing  on  her  as  she  shook  her  head,  not  wanting  to  believe  what  she  was  saying,  despite  knowing  that  there  was  something  she  could  learn  from  this  starlight,     "     i'm  nothing  like  you.     we're  not  gonna  be  anything,     "     annie  snapped,  unsure  of  what  exactly  the  other  version  of  her  was  thinking  right  now,  she  was  just  angry  at  the  situation,  desperate  to  get  home  and  she  just  wanted  to  find  a  way  back  to  the  people  she  cared  about,     "     you  and  i,  we're  not  the  same.     you're  twisted  and  too  far  gone  to  even  realise  that  you've  become  something  that  you  should  hate,     "     she  had  always  wanted  to  be  a  hero,  surely  that  was  something  all  of  them  shared.     but  how  did  this  annie  become  so  twisted  that  she  lost  sight  of  that?     shaking  her  head,  an  almost     𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠     look  on  her  face  as  she  looked  at  her,     "     i  will  never  be  anything  like  you,     "
