I Loved This Show. The Acting Was Atrociousmostlybut The Kids In It Were So Charming And The Characterization

I loved this show. The acting was atrocious mostly but the kids in it were so charming and the characterization was great. Because it was geared towards kids the writers blatantly showed you clues as to why the characters acted the way they did, and the obstacles they faced. I still own about 20 Goosebumps books.

James Franco is misunderstood. I think hes a genius, and proves that actors can be artistic and do different things. One of the things I like about him is he is very honest, and actually interested in people. I think this is what makes him such a conscious artist (as opposed to pretentious). I don't feel strange for trying to do too much now. Performance art is my newest fancy, Miranda July is my guide.

This may be just me, but I find this quote to be true satire in context of the film. In the film, Martha May is unable to find peace due to her traumatizing past on the farm. But I believe she has always been at war with herself. Her fears imprison her, and cause her to be in a perpetual state of unhappiness. To me, the film is about discontent. No matter where she goes, or who she's with, she is unhappy. She is always fighting something, always struggling. This is her glory in the film. This hypothesis may not explain all of her behavior, but it can give us some insight on how to explain the "intent" of her behavior (in the words of my acting professor).

Actual Happiness Always Looks Pretty Squalid In Comparison With The Overcompensations For Misery. And,

Actual happiness always looks pretty squalid in comparison with the overcompensations for misery. And, of course, stability isn’t nearly so spectacular as instability. And being contented has none of the glamour of a good fight against misfortune, none of the picturesqueness of a struggle with temptation, or a fatal overthrow by passion or doubt. Happiness is never grand.

I don't care much for Lana Del Rey anymore, but this video is so beautiful. Her vulnerability plays perfectly on the screen. This video gave some substance to an otherwise mediocre (almost comical) song. Her monologue at the end truly affected me, and I wouldn't doubt that she is a decent actress. The most beautiful scene was of her in the garden, surrounded by fuchsia flowers and the sunlight in the distance. She was wearing a creamy blue dress and it contrasted amazingly with setting. ASAP Rocky as JFK was a very cool idea, and the children in it were adorable! Brilliant.
