My Last Entry ForKeiiii And Ladyfox's Contest On Gaia.

My last entry for Keiiii and Ladyfox's contest on Gaia. 

I do not know what subtlety is, and even if I did, I wouldn't want to use it. That said, I think what this picture needs is a few lensflares and explosions. Maybe a helicopter blowing up in the background somewhere. Yeah. That's the stuff.

I continue to be unsure what Sif's shoes look like but I drew this from training at work and didn't want to test the instructor's patience with my bad habits by pulling out my phone to check.

Typically, the whole idea for a painting for me springs from the lighting and the color scheme more than anything else. So I usually start with a really strong, very singular idea as far as those elements, then have to come up with what.. well, the subject even is. That wasn't the case with this, and it was really disorienting trying to work in a way that felt backwards as a result.

I'd like to say I went with the one I did because it presented really strong value contrast and shape definition but that'd be a reaaaaally big lie~.

More playing-with-markers. They're all just prismacolor warm, cool, and french greys, so nothing too wild. I need to get better at the idea of painting with them, since I'm still stuck in that very... anime way of using them to just make everything super shiny.

I could read an entire comic of her punching the faces of people who mouth off to her.
