Jealousy - Lucien
Lucienâs turn! He gets to deck someone, as a treat. The full thing can be read over on Patreon!
He has no right to jealousy. None at all. What right does he have to your life after the way he treated you?
Still, it eats at Lucienâs heart. You were the most important person in his lifeâŠif heâs honest with himself, you still are. Thereâs a pedestal in his heart and heâd tried desperately to knock you off of it to no avail.
Now youâre a stranger he loves dearly, and heâs a stranger you canât stand.
The jealousy heâd like to deny still lives there, burning in his heart despite how heâd like to deny it. Itâs even worse at times like these.
Youâre walking only steps ahead of him. Itâs a coincidence; you both have an afternoon class and you live in the same hallway, after all. Thereâs a guy walking beside you, and Lucien can tell itâs not Viktor. The lack of horns is a dead giveaway there.
He leans toward you, your shoulders brushing, and he turns his head. Lucien can see the smile curling his lips as he leans down into you space and says something.
Heart lurching in his chest, he tries valiantly to keep his head down and continue marching on. He hopes against hope that you donât glance back and see him; he knows heâs the definition of pathetic at the moment.
Then, the second after the guy leans into your space, you cringe back and shuffle a few steps away. Lucien realizes then just how tense your posture is, and how your fingers are curling around your keys like a weapon.
No. He canâtâŠthis canât happen. Theyâll rake you over the coals for an assault even if youâre just protecting yourself.
Lucien promised he wouldnât intervene in your life anymore for your sake. This, though? Heâs doing this for you, too.
âHey!â He barks the word out, watching the both of you freeze in place.

Somewhere, in the middle of nowhere...
A young girlâs cries rang out through the dimly lit camp.
âOh for my sanityâs sake, the frog is fine so please stop crying before all the coyotes gather to eat us.â
But the girlâs tears persisted unabated, her gaze piercing through the man with an accusatory glare. In her eyes, the man had become an emblem of guilt, the embodiment of her pain and torment, âYou hurt her.â
The man sighed and ran a hand through his disheveled hair. Handling such situations, especially when it involved teary-eyed children, was far from his comfort zone.
âLook, Fadiya, I didnât hurt your precious amphibian friend,â he said, trying to sound reassuring but failing miserably. âI merely... conducted a few experiments on it.â
Fadiyaâs tear-streaked face contorted in confusion. âExperiments?â
âWell, yes,â he admitted sheepishly. âBut it was all in the name of the arcana! And perhaps a touch of curiosity. But observe!â He gestured towards the frog, which was now the size of a cat and changing colors every minute. âIsnât it amazing?â
But his attempt to evoke wonder only deepened Fadiya's despair.
The young girlâs sobs intensified, her voice choked with anguish, âWhy is she doing that? You have ruined her!â
Just then, a loud noise came from a nearby hammock. The abrupt noise had jolted Naima out of her slumber, she let out a groan of irritation, her desire for the comfort of a plush bed evident in her grumbles.
âWhatâs going on? Why are we crying at this ungodly hour?â she grumbled, rubbing her eyes and squinting at the unusual sight before her. âWhat is that?â
âHe hurt her.â
âHer?â
âOh, Fadiya, do you know how many frogs she hasââ
âI cannot believe you hurt her, that is unacceptable.â Naima interrupted with a glare, she refused to let Fadiya hear about any of her less-than-virtuous acts. Naima tried not to laugh at the sight of the frog but she couldnât help but smile a little at the strange sight.
Fadiya hiccuped, her tears subsiding momentarily as curiosity mingled with her sorrow, "Auntie, why did he have to experiment on my frog? Canât we change her back?"
âFirst of all itâs my frog. Secondly, she is now far better than a regular frog.â
Naima shot him a glare once again then turned her eyes towards Fadiya. She softened her gaze, realizing the depth of Fadiyaâs attachment to the now-transformed creature.
Naimaâs wavy black hair cascaded around her shoulders like a midnight waterfall as she crouched down to Fadiyaâs level. Her pale skin, softly glowing in the light of the lanterns, accentuated the depth of her amber eyes.
âWell, sweetheart, sometimes things donât go as planned, especially when magic is involved. But let us look at the bright side. She doesnât appear to be hurt, and she possesses a magical allure unlike any other frog youâve encountered.â
Fadiya sniffled, wiping her tear-streaked cheeks with the back of her hand. She glanced at the vibrant, ever-changing frog and let out a small giggle amidst her sorrow.
âI suppose it is sort of amazing,â she admitted, her voice filled with a mix of wonder and sadness.
The frog hopped closer to Fadiya, its bulbous eyes fixated on her. It seemed to sense her shift in mood and croaked cheerfully, as if trying to comfort her.
The man scratched his head and mumbled to himself, âMaybe I should have experimented on a different animalâŠâ
Naima gave him a sideways glance, her eyes twinkling mischievously, âWell, thatâs what you get for meddling with life without considering the consequences. Next time, maybe think twice before turning a frog into⊠that.â
âI wasnât trying to turn it into that.â
âWhat were you trying to do?â Naimaâs curiosity got the better of her, and she motioned for the man to explain while they moved away from Fadiya and the frog, leaving them in their own quiet world.
Fadiya reached out a trembling hand and gently stroked the frogâs smooth, damp skin. Its delicate webbed toes tickled her fingers, causing her to giggle once more. The frog responded with a contented croak, basking in the affection it received.
Her tears had dried up, replaced by a newfound curiosity and a glimmer of hope. She looked into the frogâs round eyes, filled with wonder and innocence, and whispered, âIâm naming you Asha.â
âSeems like Asha is quite fond of you,â Naima remarked as she walked back to Fadiya, her voice filled with warmth and affection. âJust like how youâre fond of her.â
Naima crouched down beside Fadiya, her eyes filled with admiration. âYou have a gift, Fadiya,â she said, her voice filled with pride. âItâs a rare and beautiful thing.â
Fadiya nodded, her gaze returning to Asha, who had nestled closer to her side. âI love her,â Fadiya admitted, a radiant smile spreading across her face. âSheâs my favorite frog.â
She then turned towards her aunt, âBut donât worry, youâre still my favorite person.â
Naima chuckled softly, her eyes twinkling with affection, âOh, Fadiya, you always know how to make me feel special. Youâve been my favorite since the day you were born.â She reached out and ruffled Fadiya's hair playfully, her touch filled with warmth.
âYou werenât there when I was born,â Fadiya narrowed her eyes, âHow come I donât remember seeing you?â
âYou may not remember, but I held you in my arms shortly after you took your first breath. Your mother was exhausted, and I was there to welcome you into this world.â
Fadiyaâs brows furrowed as she tried to recall the distant memory. âReally?â she asked, her voice tinged with curiosity.
Naima nodded, a soft smile on her face. âYes, really. I remember the way you looked, all tiny and fragile. You were my little gift from the world, Fadiya.â
Asha, as if sensing the conversation had shifted away from her, croaked loudly, as if to say, âWhat about me?â
The sudden interruption made Fadiya and Naima burst into laughter, Naima gently patted Ashaâs head, âYouâre my favorite too, Asha.â

I'm going to draw this. When? I don't know, but it will happen. You have my word
What if... what if cheek kiss? đđ
đđ !!! I suppose it depends on the stage, but I'll assume you're in a relationship? (And if you're interested in how they'd react while crushing... it's đđ feel free to send a separate ask for that!)
I accidentally wrote this with the caveat that it was a sudden cheek kiss... but I hope you enjoy, anyway! :)
SALVATORE would startle, eyes bursting open with light. They turn to you swiftly, grinning ear to ear, and would lean in to kiss you back on the cheek, assuming that is something that you want. If not, then if you're at least comfortable with this much, they'd reach out to hold your hands and squeeze them. Giggling, they'd say that it was niceâthank you, MC!
LUCIEL would blink, going deathly still. Their finger twitches, the only movement they make for a few, long moments, and then they turn to you slowly. It's now that you realize that the ends of their ears have turned red, now that they're facing you with a small and diffident smile. If they know it's something you'd like, they'd lean forward slowly and press one to your temple as well.
CIOCANA would suddenly tense, having lost all control over their senses or movements that even their eyes turn blank for a moment. They clear their throat as they recover, turning the charm on once more and looking to you. What was that about? Did they suddenly seem kissable at that moment? If so, MC has to commit to it. (Internal screaming)
ALESSI would blink, but they only need that moment to process it. Provided that they already know it's something you're comfortable with, they'd surge forward to kiss you on your cheek, maybe two or three. MC launched a covert attack on them, and they're only rising to the challenge! If MC is not one to receive, though, they'd just scoff playfully and roll their eyes. What underhanded tactics to catch them off-guard; they're lucky they can't counter it.
Thank you so much for the ask!! đđ
