both johnnie and i didn’t want to be here. i glanced at tara and jake, my older brothers friends who were already chatting with their friends and beelining to the drinks.
i sighed and glanced at johnnie. he awkwardly rubbed my shoulder with one of his bony, pale hands in an attempt to comfort me.
“you okay?”
i sighed and nodded reluctantly. parties weren’t my scene at all, and they weren’t his either. i fidgeted with the neon fishnet gloves i was wearing and shifted uncomfortably.
i wanted johnnie to stay with me, but the next thing i know he was following jake like a lost puppy. whatever, it was fine.
i noticed my brothers friends larray and tara chatting away with a brunette boy a little taller than them. he had a nose piercing and earrings, and he was just as talkative as the other two.
i turned around and decided to join jake and my brother to get a drink to take my mind off of my anxiety.
i grabbed a cup when i felt a hand graze mine, also reaching for the cup. i looked up to see a brunette who looked nearly the same as the one talking to tara and larray. except he wasn’t the same. his tattoos were in different spots, his hair was a little messier, and he didn’t have a nose ring.
i couldn’t deny, he was hot.
“sorry..” i apologized swiftly, letting him take the cup
“no worries..” he replied, a soft smile on the boys face. he took the cup and i expected him to just pour his drink and walk away, but he stayed. he looked a little awkward and just as anxious as me.
“i’m matt,” he introduced with a warm expression, putting out his hand for me to shake. that wasn’t something you’d see in most guys these days. i couldn’t help but smile back.
“y/n,” i replied awkwardly, taking his hand and shaking it swiftly. he looked at me with his blue eyes, as if he were examining me.
“i like your uh.. your hair..” he complimented, pointing at my teased pink hair and my striped extensions. i smiled. not many people were fond of my appearance, my hair being the deciding factor.
“thanks.”
we conversed for a bit. i learned that he was a triplet brother from boston who had a youtube channel with his brothers, and he also really liked pugs. during our entire interaction, he could sense my discomfort and was sweet about it.
“you wanna go somewhere more quiet?” he questioned. i nodded, the music becoming deafeningly loud.

we found an empty room upstairs and locked the door, sitting on the bed and leaning against the headboard.
i glanced at his lips, then those pretty blue eyes. it was nearly impossible to pull my gaze off of them, but i managed.
“you feeling okay?” he asked. i nodded.
“i hate parties. that’s all.”
he nodded in agreement and placed a hand on my shoulder in an attempt to comfort me.
“you’re tense..” he observed, rubbing my shoulder and neck. i leaned my neck to the side, giving him better access and sighing.
“i know. i just.. get really anxious at parties. i didn’t wanna go but my brothers friends dragged me over..”
“my brothers made me go.. i get it,” matt related with a nod.
we stayed in silence with his hand on my neck for a bit. i felt his hand travel from my shoulder to my bra strap, and my breath immediately hitched in my throat.
“is this.. okay?” he asked. i gave him a nod and before i knew it, his lips were against mine. time slowed down when his tongue entered my mouth
