my head canon is that during all the days Liam and Keradin and the Pontifex, Keradin works out his religious crisis.

Liam and Keradin may never ever be friends or even allies, but those talks makes him think more and more about what he has done. And one day he asks to be taken to the Lapin shaped wish tree, and he sits there for a good long while in contemplation. and he says his apologies to the people he has done things to in the name of the Bulb. And to Lapin himself. And whether he is forgiven or not is not said, or spoken aloud, but when he is sat back in his cell, next to the plotting and angry Pontifex. He pays her no mind, and is finally closer to peace.
