He can’t see you the same anymore. Baekhyun can’t see you the same in class, when you walk by him with your friends, and now he can’t see you the same at Suho’s party. 

He didn’t expect to see you there. He thought you were so invested in your studies that you didn’t have time to go out, let alone go to a party. 

Ever since the day you humiliated him and left him with a hard on, he couldn’t look you in the eye. He hasn’t spoken to you and you haven’t spoken to him. 

You assumed he finally understood the annoyance and extremity of his teasing after you gave him a taste of his own medicine. But little did you know that he had other things in mind. 

When he walked into the party with his friends, he came to view with a girl in a black dress across the room. She was surrounded by a group of people but all he noticed was how well the dress accentuated her curves. That was exactly what he came here for: a distraction to take his mind off of you. 

As he was about to approach the girl, she turned around at the sound of her name. He soon froze at the realization that that was your name. When he looked up, he came face to face with you. 

His eyes widen as soon as he had processed what had happened. He came here to get rid of his dirty thoughts about you and ended up checking you out instead. It was like the world hated him. 

And this is how he ended up sitting on the couch, watching you while you mingled with a group of people. 

How is it that he never noticed how popular you were? How did you even know about this party?

He then sees someone put their arm around you, and pull you close.  His eyes follow the length of the arm and comes to see it attached to none other than Oh Sehun. 

He rolls his eyes at Sehun’s attempt to flirt with you, watching with spite. After a couple minutes of conversation, you remove yourself from Sehun’s embrace and walk in the direction of the kitchen. 

Baekhyun’s eyes widen and without thinking, he immediately gets up and runs toward the kitchen. This might be the perfect opportunity to talk to you. 

He pushes past everyone in his way and manages to successfully get to the kitchen before you did. He grabbed a random drink off the counter and leaned against it as if he’s been there the whole time. 

When you entered the kitchen, you were surprised to see Baekhyun but nonetheless smiled at him.

“Hey, Baek,” you say respectfully as you walk properly into the kitchen. 

“Hi, Y/N,” he finally spoke for the first time since the incident. 

“How are you?” you ask out of politeness. 

“I’m good,” he mumbles. “And you?”

“I’m pretty good. I’m having a good time,” you say truthfully as you reach for the refrigerator. 

“Going to grab a drink?” he asks, stating the obvious, mentally face palming himself. 

“Yeah, I think I’m just going to grab a coke.”

“Not into alcohol?" 

"I am. I’ve just been drinking all night that I think I should just take it easy for now." 

"Wow, I didn’t expect you to be the partying type." 

"There’s a lot you don’t know about me,” you wink playfully as you open the refrigerator. You bend down to grab a can of coke as Baekhyun’s eyes roam to look at your ass. 

When you bend back up, you notice him staring. You quirk an eyebrow at him causing him to cough awkwardly. 

“Umm I didn’t know you knew Suho,” he stutters, trying to change the subject. 

“I don’t. I was invited by Sehun.”

“Oh, you guys came together?" 

"No I came with my friends.”

All of a sudden Baekhyun bursts into laughter, leaving you feeling confused and insecure. 

“What?” you question.

“God, you’re so oblivious,” he continues to laugh. 

You wrinkle your eyebrows at his vagueness. “What are you talking about?”

 "Sehun obviously asked you out and you friend zoned him by bringing along your friends.“

"What? Really?”

“Yeah. God, he even put his arm around you a couple of minutes ago. How can you be so clueless?”

Your blood begins to boil as Baekhyun belittles you. How can he speak to you as if you’re stupid?

“I wasn’t clueless about you liking me.”

Suddenly he stops laughing and his eyes widen as he swallows nervously. 

“I-I don’t like you anymore,” he attempts to say convincingly. 

“Oh yeah? After just two weeks?" 

"Those were a long two weeks.”

“Then how did you know that Sehun had his arm around me earlier? Hmm? Were you watching us?” you tease as you step closer to him slowly. 

“N-no, I just happened to look your way at that moment.”

You continue walking toward him slowly, never breaking eye contact. “Fine, then why were you staring at my ass when I grabbed my soda?”

“I-”

“Why did you run across the room to enter the kitchen before I got here?”

Baekhyun’s eyes widen at your accusation. How did you know?

As if you read his mind you answered. “How do I know? Well it’s not hard to notice a fast moving figure in this small space.”

You’re finally in his face, not much space between the two of you. 

“So are you really going to tell me you don’t like me after all that?” you cock your head to the side. 

He stays quiet, staring at your eyes nervously, not knowing what to say. 

You hang your arms loosely around his neck, sudden confidence running through your veins. Your eyes flicker from his eyes to his lips as you lean in slowly, lips inches apart. 

His arms then wrap around your waist as he leans in as well. 

Before the gap can close between your lips, you slide your arms down his chest stopping him from getting closer. 

“I thought so,” you say before removing yourself from his embrace and walking away with your soda in hand. 

What the fuck just happened? Did you just play him? Again? And in public?! That’s it. That’s the final straw. He was not going to let you get away with this any longer. He walked into the living room and saw you dancing with your friends. God, he hates how you can move! 

He tries to show you he can give two shits about you by grabbing a random girl with a short dress and dancing with her. He’s near your friend group dancing and sees that you’ve noticed the girl grinding on him. When he thinks you’re going to react the way he expected, you just smirk. Smirk?! 

He carries out the plan and sees where this goes. 

All of a sudden he sees a guy go up to you, and begins dancing behind you. You feel someone’s chest press against your back and you turn around to see a guy you used to tutor. 

“Hey Xiumin! How are you?” you lean in and say to his ear, hoping he hears you over the loud music. 

He does the same. “I’m good. I see you’ve been doing good too,” he says looking you up and down. 

You continue talking in each other’s ears and completely forgot about Baekhyun until you felt someone’s hands behind you on your waist, pulling you back.

“Sorry to interrupt but I’m going to need her real quick,” says Baekhyun as he takes you by the hand and leads you to one of the rooms. 

Once you’re inside, you go straight to the bed and spread yourself out while Baekhyun closes the door. 

He turns back around and sits on the edge of the bed awkwardly, not knowing what to do. He actually didn’t have a plan when he dragged you in there. His jealousy got the best of him and all he knew was that he had to get you away from that guy. 

You sit back up and wait for Baekhyun to say something. When he wouldn’t speak, you took initiative. 

“Is there something you wanted?" 

"Yes,” Baekhyun blurred out. “I want to know why you keep doing this to me.”

“Doing what?” you tilt your head to the side, feigning cluelessness. 

“Ugh,” he groans. “Why do you keep teasing me like this?”

“Really because I thought I was just getting revenge for all the annoying shit you’ve done.”

“Well it’s worse on me.”

“Baekhyun, it’s only been two weeks of teasing and you can’t handle it. Try three years.”

“Yeah but I have it harder.”

“How so?”

“Because I like you.”

It was silent. You paused. You didn’t know what to say to that. “Oh." 

"I realized why I teased you so much. I didn’t know at first. I just thought you were a fun target. But I couldn’t stop thinking about you.”

Your mouth opened to say something but nothing would come out. So he continued, “I wasn’t thinking of ways to tease you, I was thinking about us together and how pretty you are and how much I liked hearing your laugh. I thought that the only way you’ll notice me is if I stole your attention and annoying you was the easiest way.”

“I hope you know that is a stupid mentality to have.”

“Well I do now,” he chuckles. You begin to smile too at his genuine being. 

Once he feels that the mood has lightened, he takes one of your hands and engulfs it in both of his. “I know you’ll never like me because I’ve made your life a living hell for the past three years,” he begins. “And because I’m not Sehun or that other guy and-”

“Stop,” you say, removing your hands from his. 

“What?" 

"Don’t do this.”

“Don’t do what?”

“Stop making me feel guilty.”

“That wasn’t what I was trying to do.”

“Well that’s what you’re doing." 

You see that his mood became more gloomy so you tried taking it back.

"Listen Baekhyun,” you begin. “I’m not trying to hurt you. I didn’t even know you liked me until recently. But forcing all this information on me all at once is extremely overwhelming. I can’t give you what you want if I don’t even know what I want.”

He looks down at his lap before speaking. “I understand Y/N. I’m sorry I wasted your time. I won’t bother you again.” He begins getting up. 

“No Baek, that’s not what I meant-”

“No I get it,” he continues. “I’m a burden. I know when I’m not wanted.”

“That’s not it at all,” you get up as well. 

“It’s okay, you don’t have to pretend-" 

You cut him off with a kiss. You leaned in and captured his lips to stop him from saying anymore. It was too much for you to handle and too much for you to hear and you just did the first thing that came to your mind. 

You appreciated Baekhyun for being honest and genuine and putting himself out there for you. His vulnerability made you feel bad for him, the way he spoke so lowly about himself that you just kissed him to shut him up. 

Maybe it was the alcohol but you didn’t do anything when he kissed you back and placed a hand on your waist.

"You’re so beautiful,” he says against your lips, as he continues to kiss you feverishly, tongue massaging yours, eliciting a moan from you.
