I've Seen Bakugo Being Compared To Sanemi Surprisingly A Lot. The Reason Why It's So Surprising Is Because

I've seen bakugo being compared to sanemi surprisingly a lot. The reason why it's so surprising is because they're not similar ? The only way I see a similarity is their constant anger.

But their anger stems from different reasons which sets their characters completely apart !!

This is NOT a bakugo vs sanemi u reading the wrong thing if ur looking for that lmao I suck at analysing character fighting styles and how they could compare ( like wth is hax 😭) I DIGRESS

AND ALSO SPOILERS FOR BOTH MHA AND DEMON SLAYER (?)

sanemi's anger mainly from what we see is a portrayed as a hatred for demons which stemmed from his traumatic past (where he ended up killing his own mother due to her turning into a demon and killing the rest of their family.)

Seems straight forward but it's literally why everytime we see him it's like he has 10 sticks up his ass.

His whole career is based around killing demons so when he sees ppl with the same job slacking and not able to fend for themselves, he most likely thinks that no one is taking it seriously- as if they haven't had bad experiences; that they aren't fortunate to have had survived and are still able to get up protect others. His anger is almost encouraging if you think of it from this perspective.

You can see it as him basically forcing them to get better so they're not a burden to themselves and others in the battlefield (just in a really aggressive, violent, and not necessarily *right* way).

I'm convinced that some of his anger is also stemmed from fear. Obviously as a hashira he has the responsibility of protecting the lower ranks whilst fighting but maybe the training arc really puts into perspective just how many lives are actually at stake which makes him realise *how much* humanity is depending on him as a hashira. I feel like the fear is deeply rooted from his past of not being able to protect those he loves, his family, masachika, etc. So if he can't even look after his close ones, how's he supposed to protect a bunch of random ppl ? Ygwim ?

BAKUGO on the other hand -- >

This guy's anger stemmed from an inferiority complex that was so severe that he put on a facade to make himself seem so much bigger than he actually felt.

I think midoriya could always see this, which was why he never held him at Gun Point for an apology for the literal torment he put him through.

We can also see a small glimpse of his constant self-criticism during the fight against midoriya after all might's fight with afo, when he blames himself for all might's downfall.

This is key because it shows that he doesn't just direct his anger at others but clearly at himself, too. Using this, you could probably make the judgement that when he lashes out at his friends, he probably regrets it straight after. *especially* after his character development, where he acknowledges that he always felt inferior to midoriya and decided to bully him to make himself feel bigger.

Old habits die so hard, so he probably struggled to be less aggressive towards everyone around him.

The difference between sanemi and bakugo is that:

Sanemi is confident in himself but not so confident in others and their strength which is why he pushes them *so* hard. His training is definitely the most brutal out of all the hashiras'

You can argue its gyomei but his training hasn't given slayers black eyes and swollen knuckles. Tanjiro is exhibit A if you want an example. I DIGRESS (again)

Whilst bakugo is not confident in himself, which to, what I believe, is the reason for his aggressive attitude towards others.

BASICALLY the way I see it is that sanemis aggression isn't necessarily presented to show him putting other characters down unlike bakugo who's entrance was literally as a bully who told midoriya to kill himself setting in stone that his anger resulted in others feeling inferior to him.

I really like both characters - sanemi more tbh so if u think I missed anything out pls point it out šŸ¤ž

No srsly tho there's a difference between just SHARING your opinion and FORCING your opinion on others !!

It's okay to have headcanons of characters and to view dynamics differently (which is one of the reasons rarepairs exist). And it's also okay to have discussions about said ships and rarepairs it's called having an open mind and realising that others just don't see or favour characters the same as you !!

HOWEVER when you start telling ppl to 'kys' over an honestly harmless opinion that's when the problems start. The whole thing where you insult or belittle ppl who have different interpretations over relationships is pretty childish imo. THE RELATIONSHIPS DONT EVEN CHANGE THE PLOT WHAT ARE U EVEN MAD ABT ā‰ļø Some of the fandom are acting like we cant have opinions and imagination😭

The worst part is that this doesn't just apply to the demon slayer fandom it just happens to be one of the best exhibits for this behaviour šŸ’€

Can we talk abt how dumb ppl in the kny fandoms are acting rn? Likw why r u so pissed about the rareships when there’s proshippers everywhere? Like girl we should be talking bout them!

These toxic shippers (sry to say mainly shinogiyuu and sanegiyuu) are fr the reason why the fandom is so divided. Can we just chill out and let ppl have their own harmless opinions?? šŸ’€

What is I said after the first Agni Kai the healers tell Iroh Zuko's not gonna make it. What if Iroh drops everything and takes Zuko to the North Pole where he begs for help from the waterbenders because his boy, his son, is gonna die. What if Chief Arnook sees the same desperation he had when Yue was born dead in Iroh's eyes. What if after Zuko gets help from the Northern Water Tribe he stays because it's safer. What if Iroh had to go back to the Fire Nation and Zuko stayed back. What if Yue and Zuko became friends. What if Zuko from the Northern Water Tribe. What then, huh? What are you gonna do about it.

One of my faaaav things to do in fic is pair up characters that don’t get a lot of screentime together OR that feel like opposites and try to find some common ground between them. Most recently I did this with Sanemi and Shinobu because I could go on and on and on about their shared anger issues in completely different directions. How sanemi probably knew her before Kanae’s death and maybe even misses the hotheaded sarcastic girl she used to be, maybe misses their bickering and squabbles because now she keeps it all so close to her chest and puts on a smile . Anyways

This becomes a problem when I can no longer identify who is in possession of the brain cell.

Sanemi is trying to juggle his newfound crush on Giyuu with his hatred for Giyuu’s surrogate brother (Tanjiro) and his complicated feelings about Genya. Genya is too busy trying to get Sanemi to notice him/talk to him to notice that Tanjiro has an extremely obvious crush on HIM. Tanjiro is trying to support Genya in his attempt to win Sanemi over while also actively not respecting Sanemi at ALL, and poor Giyuu is trying to set a good ā€œbrothersā€ example by being protective of Tanjiro and trying to give Tanjiro advice on what to do about his crush on Genya, while ALSO juggling his OWN crush on Sanemi.

So whoS FLYING THE FUCKING PLANE

Minor kny spoilers (?) And rant

I'll never get over how well the character deaths are written in kny. Like you get introduced to this colourful and very characteristic individual, you grow attached to them, you learn their backstory and you just think that the character will see the end of the story. That's what you think.

NO, gotouge just kills them off but in the most heartbreaking and soul crushing way, and it never fails to make me feel sad.

Kny is just full of tragedies that take place for the greater good with a bittersweet ending. A lot of people hate on kny saying that the plot isn't interesting and it's only saved by the animation. How does that explain the manga being one of the best-selling manga globally then, huh?

But I like how there's a pure evil villain, not a sad, misunderstood character with a complex background(not hating on those plots). Simplicity is nice sometimes.

I have so much more to say but I'm not writing allat

Crackfic Idea:

30-year-old Zuko gets randomly flung back in time to his 16-year-old self. For a couple of hours at a time. At the most random times imaginable. Imagine the potential.

Zuko assumes that it's a dream or a vision, but definitely not real. He tries not to freak everybody out too badly, but he's also fully enjoying himself and seeing all of his friends as their young selves.

ZUKO, as he and Aang circle each other at the South Pole: I've spent years preparing for this encounter. Training, meditating. You're just a [Spirit Shwoop Sound] ... baby Aang!

AANG, confused: Well, more like preteen Aang. How do you know my name?

ZUKO, looking around: Wait, where are we?

AANG: Um... this is the-

SOKKA: Don't answer him! He's trying to get information out of you. You can't give away our location!

KATARA: Sokka, he's standing in the middle of our village. I think he knows.

ZUKO: We're here? This is so weird. I was just here for the Annual Penguin Race.

AANG: THERE'S AN ANNUAL PENGUIN RACE?!

ZUKO: Well, yeah, it was your idea... you gave a whole speech about cross-cultural cooperation and friendship, but I know you just wanted to go penguin sledding with a bunch of people...

AANG: Well, I-

SOKKA: Stop giving him more information! He already knows about the penguins!

Everybody else is confused, bewildered and even befuddled except for Iroh, who assumes that it's Spirit Shenanigansā„¢ļø and just fully accepts that his nephew likes tea and hugs and Pai Sho sometimes while being his usual shouty surly traumaball self at others.

ZUKO, stepping into the cabin: Hi, Uncle. I brought you some ginseng. How about a game of Pai Sho?

IROH, tearing up a little: I would love that, my nephew.

ZUKO: I wish we could do this more often, but you live so far away...

IROH, mentally calculating that he lives exactly three doors away from Zuko, and nodding sagely: The rat-viper may never climb the mountain that a hog-monkey can, but the monkey does not know what lies underneath it.

ZUKO, sighing sadly: I know, Uncle. I do appreciate my position in life, even if it has disadvantages.

IROH: Hmm. Your move, nephew.

The crew of Zuko's ship is terrified by the fact that whenever it happens, Zuko is somehow even more hyper-competent, seems to be weirdly calm about everything, and most unnervingly of all, he's polite.

SOLDIER: Here is a report on the best teahouses within three days travel of our current location, Sir. And, uh, Commander Zhao sent a messenger hawk.

ZUKO: Excellent. Thank you very much, Sergeant. I think we can ignore whatever Zhao has to say. In reply, I want you to send him a list of the most famous officers in Fire Nation history, and point out that none of them had sideburns. I want to see if he shaves them.

SOLDIER, sweating nervously: O-of course, Sir.

As a matter of fact, the whole fic could just be Zuko trolling Zhao. It would be glorious.
