Hey check this out. This made me cry my own tears and almost jump out of my skin when my therapist facetimed me. I was like shit, they're going to know I've been crying. But here, look:

He’d never experienced true love like this—a kiss on the forehead each morning kind of love. A ‘have you eaten?’ kind of love. A missing him even when he’s just popped out to get milk, kind of love. A hold me when I’m frightened, without even needing to ask, kind of love.

More on this. I was supposed to do a bunch of stuff today. I was supposed to! I didn't. Instead, I cried a lot over this fic. It's a beautiful exploration of love and grief and the masks we have to put on when we're grieving. The complexity of mourning someone who is sick, who we know we're going to lose. The joy of coming back home to them.

I think it's easy for longer Wireless fics to go under the radar, so definitely just pause and read this excerpt and go and check this out if the tags speak to you. It's absolutely cathartic and genuine and beautiful and really the heart of why I love this ship.

It's got: banter, angst, more angst, hurt and hurt and COMFORT, hotness, sweetness, Ginsy, cute kids, more hurt and comfort, and some really splendid world building with a very interesting curse.

MOST OF ALL THOUGH, it has this passage:

He’d hardly cried before he met Draco. He cried when he lost Sirius, then again when he locked himself inside Grimmauld Place directly after the war, discovering old letters and polaroids of his parents and his godfather and Remus. He’d cried a lot that summer; when there were funerals every other week, or when Ron Floo’d to the house late one evening, sobbing over the Fred’s death. He’d shed tears as he held his best friend, mourning not only the loved ones, but their old life that would now be forever changed.

Then, it stopped.

A few tears of joy at the occasional wedding, or the stinging of emotion behind his eyes when he first held Penelope at 4 days old.

Since then, nothing. Because until now, he’d never known what it was like to feel this deeply, to be unequivocally out of his mind with joy. He’d never experienced true love like this—a kiss on the forehead each morning kind of love. A ‘have you eaten?’ kind of love. A missing him even when he’s just popped out to get milk, kind of love. A hold me when I’m frightened, without even needing to ask, kind of love.

Until Draco, no one had ever stitched up his wounds and kissed his scars. Then along he came—picking up all Harry’s broken parts, tending to them, piecing him back together until he was whole again—fragile, but whole.

Worlds best dad

The Professors. (aka I do have more than one fandom… sometimes)

Draco and Harry in the future AU where they are the Potions and Defense professors at Hogwarts. (Whether you ship them or not I do enjoy them having a future tempestuous friendship!)

Harry’s design is inspired by the idea that his adult look evolved from “carbon copy James” and take into account the other people who helped define him (Sirius and Dumbledore specifically. He has quite a few questionably coloured robes in his wardrobe.)

Also the idea is that he looks very unimpressive. Anyone who meets him expects an image of a powerful wizard and end up with “that’s Harry Potter? no way!?” vibes. His students like him because he’s that cool professor, not because they are particularly impressed that he’s Harry Potter. Bonus he very much enjoys driving Professor Malfoy insane with his extremely casual appearance, often with additional Weasley jumper.

All in all he looks like he got dragged through a hedge backwards. If his hair was unruly before it just gets worse as it goes.

Draco however is never seen with a hair out of place. He’s a professional don’t you know? Unlike some professors.
