appalachia is devastated. towns i loved, towns i visited all the time, are gone. not damaged, GONE. they are leveled to the ground. there is nothing left but rubble and ruin. people are dead. appalachia is poor to begin with and relies on tourism for a lot of its income, and multiple of those tourist locations are just...gone.
my town is okay, but it's flooded and wrecked. trees are blocking all but one way out of our neighborhood. power lines are hanging limp in the roads. we've been without power for over 24 hours and will continue to be without power for likely another 24+. disabled people and poor people are GOING to die from this. gods save appalachia.
The mind numbing anger of chronic fatigue is getting irritable because you're so fucking tired but you really feel like you SHOULDNT BE.
You SHOULD be able to sit at a desk and do work. You SHOULD be able to just watch a freaking YouTube video. You SHOULD be able to just eat fucking lunch.
But you can't. Because your eyes are closing and it's like temporary death is taking you.
Where is the flavor? I'm not trying to dog on y'all but.... give me Tav/Astarion love and understanding.. give me Tavs who haven't fallen for the facade and who LISTEN to what him. Give me Tavs who KNOW he's exhibiting trauma responses and who don't just want him because he's hot vampire guy.
Don't get me wrong I love a good durgestarion "I can make him worse" trope. But we are severely lacking in the "this man is broken and I want to see him thrive" trope.
BG3 is just a game, and Astarion isn't real so it doesn't REALLY matter I guess ;/. But ignoring such a WELL WRITTEN story about a traumatized person using their sexuality to play people into making them feel safe is so disheartening to see. This is the reality for so many survivors. Including myself, and that is why I think it is so important to fully understand his romance/friendship plotlines.

It's really funny watching people who have only seen the animated show be like... I really think Keyleth is the avatar. This feels like an avatar rip off. What's up with that?! Being too disabled to work is not a “rich person thing.” People who are not allowed to have more than 2k in their bank accounts are not rich lazy upper class people lol. And if you try to argue that “well if you aren’t rich how do you expect to survive without working” I’d like to remind you that lots of disabled people who can’t work don’t actually survive.
