Our Contestants:

A drawing of the Pokemon Doublade. It's a Pokemon that resembles two brown swords with a pink gem in its hilt, followed by two white circles and a white marking that resembles teeth before extending down to a sheath with a triquetra pattern. Attached to its pommel is a purple sash that ends in a lighter pink swirl.
A drawing of the Pokemon Spewpa. It's a small, cocoon-like Pokemon mostly covered in white silk with a black body. Several squares in black, red, and yellow surround the silk, and it has large tan markings around its eyes and on a triangular patch on its forehead.

Moving right along to the next book and non-human important character, let's talk about HAL 9000! It is just so interesting to me how the narration is immediately...neutral about Hal. So many modern books (definitely including my own) have this obligatory wariness about AI characters, and yet this book immediately refers to Hal with he/him pronouns, talks about his "childhood," repeatedly stresses that he is a member of the crew, etc. It goes out of its way to personify him, and it's clear the two awake humans treat him as a person, too, in a way that wasn't as striking in the movie.

shedinja's face is a weird shape, it would need special-fit safety goggles

Official art of Shedinja. It is a bug Pokémon, with its eyes being protrusions on either side of its head.
The same picture, but with the item Safety Goggles drawn onto it, modified from the official depictions of the item in order to fit Shedinja's face. The bulbous, semispherical lenses make it look rather silly.
