Here’s a bit of information about Chaos Deprived! Again, thank you for letting me talk about it, I think it’s pretty interesting!

So it’s part “Shadow was created by the Ancients” and part “chaos energy exists in the Boom Universe”. There used to be chaos energy around the planet, and a lot of it was used in technology. Everyone was used to feeling it flow around them, and some had more chaos energy in them than the average person. The more chaos energy, the better you can sense it around you.

When Shadow was created, he pretty much had the most chaos energy of any living being. He had enough to need four inhibitor rings on himself at all times to keep from self destructing and can still use said energy after all.

One day, the chaos energy from outside sources seemed to just… deplete. It started fading, and people started to panic because this energy could control the very fabric of reality. People who had chaos energy inside often took charge because being close to them brought a sense of familiarity and safety.

The thing is, it wasn’t disappearing. The chaos emeralds and master emerald felt that they needed to change places, and that’s what happened.

Over the decades, the chaos energy in bloodlines died, and it vanished completely from the planet. Well, almost. Shadow’s the only one who survived the downfall, and he most certainly feels the effects. Not physically, but more emotionally and mentally.

Not having chaos energy from outside sources surprisingly made him feel unsafe and that he had to put up a guard all the time. It was like being deprived of something essential. That’s where the name of the AU, “Chaos Deprived”, came from. He strongly believes that he’s the last that’s left of chaos energy because he no longer feels it anywhere on the planet.

But what if one day, a meteor with a small crystal containing the tiniest amount of chaos energy crashed on Bygone Island? What would happen if in an attempt to befriend Shadow and turn him to their side, Team Sonic gifted him the crystal?

You know what they say; A little kindness goes a long way. And this one just might rekindle a hope in Shadow that he lost long ago.

Honestly, this is mostly just my idea of why we don’t see chaos energy stuff in the Boom series, and say that Shadow’s attitude is all an act he puts up.

Honestly i never thought of seeing the lack of chaos and master emeralds that way.

Despite how annoying it is to me, I like the idea of chaos and master emeralds not mentioned at all because it gives freedom for interpretation and ideas.

Also shadow needing to live (?) off of it is just Muah
