Boy Erased
Boy Erased looks like such an incredible heart breaking film.
It's good to see Joel Edgerton directing again after doing such a good job with The Gift. I'm excited to see how he has progressed as a director and how he will handle such a different project.
I'm so happy Lucas Hedges is getting leading roles that show off his acting range. The cast is amazing and will most likely all do a stellar job also having Troye Sivan is always a plus.
The trailer made me cry but also made me wish i could see the movie right now.
P.S. - I think this is gonna be a great awards contender

For real though, I'm actually so proud of them both, I've cried multiple times over this already. The cutest, most talented, most loving, supportive family in the world. They deserve everything.

To answer your question...
I’ve gotten a few asks about a recent change to the Fanfiction Submission Form, about why those submitting them need to paste quotes from the fic(s) they’re nominating.
The answer is this:
I’m planning on doing something special for the ballot, and I got the idea earlier this week for it, where instead of just the “Title by Author” on the options under each category, there’ll be an excerpt from the fics as well! And hand-picked from the people who love them so much!
It’s just a way for people to have a visual while they’re voting, and to give a little extra love to the authors! It may even serve as a kind of mini-rec for people who aren’t familiar with all the fics nominated as well.
Just keep in mind that the quotes you pick for the fics you nominate need to be without major spoilers and SFW!!

The issue I have with awards these days, is that they are either highly political, or like an "in crowd" kind of thing. People aren't being awarded on merit, and so, they are making themselves irrelevant.
Guess who got disqualified from the Hugo Awards for unclear, most possibly political reasons!!
