The fact that the voice actor for Cassandra Pentaghast in Dragon Age is the same as the ex enforcer psyker in Warhammer: Darktide means that whenever she shouts "dead" after killing something, I always wait for her to say "in a wave of filth!" Like no, that is not a poxburster, that is a poor old bogfisher who made the mistake of having skin with good stats

Why Dragon Age 2 is so funny to me
It's so funny because legitamely, if you do not like something about it. If you think a characterisation of a companion was off, if you find dialogue at times cheesy, or romance scenes too angsty? You can just write it off as Varric lying for effect.
This game is the only one that is canonically told through the perspective of another person. We don't experience the events of the story through Hawke like we experience them through the Warden in Origins. We are experiencing a gameplay format of Varric's story. And he is not a reliable narrator. And has totally bullshitted to Cassandra numerous times.
Don't like that Orsino died? He didn't. Varric made that up to protect the First Enchanter. That's why it doesn't make sense for him to do a 180 of blood magic. That's why literally the only question Varric is dissapointed in you asking in regards to the events of DA2 is what the fuck happened with Orsino.
Thought it was wierd how angsty romance scenes between Anders and Hawke is? Well, Varric isn't there. He knows Anders is a hopeless romantic thus made up their love scene. Same with Fenris; broody angsty Tevinter elf with a tragic background? Varric is gonna EAT THAT SHIT UP.
Sad Varric himself wasn't a romance option? Bro he totally is, he just isn't about to go into detail about him totally railing Hawke in front of a Seeker of truth. The very title puts him off.

Do you remember my post about writing more fanfiction? I've written a fic in the Dragon Age fandom! It takes place during the Inquisition, so if you only played that game you can read it.
It is a friendship fic about Dorian and Cassandra, two noble pariahs bonding over Cass's family story and necromancy. They talk about the legacy of Cassandra's uncle, who was a necromancer, like Dorian. A bit of Dorian/Inquisitor fluff is also here.

Going through a fanfic draft, and now I'm just wondering...how much would Solas' departure/whole dread wolf thing impact Ghilara and Cassandra's friendship. Because Ghil and Cass hate each other at first, they do not get along. I always get the cutscene of Cassandra drunkenly complaining about the inquisitor as soon as I get to Skyhold.
But as I've been replaying Ghil, the two have managed to work out their differences. And I think Solas would have been a big reason why that happened. Cause Cass and Solas are really close, and their banter is really sweet. So there would definately be an aspect of Ghil bickers with Solas' closest friend (Cass) and Solas bickers with Ghil's closest friend (Dorian). And they help each other find the middle ground.
Because Cass and Ghil are such similar characters. Both extremely stubborn, driven women, bad at elite manners, reckless and sure of themselves. And that can be the basis of great friendship or great enemyship. It's such a case of unstoppable force (Ghil) meets immovable object (Cass). Because they have extremely different ideologies. Ghil is pro-mage, believes in the chantry having less political sway. And Cass is well...not that.
Because while they do become good friends and learn to accept the other's difference of opinions, they have such different opinions about what to do with Solas. Cass even slightly approves of picking the "I'll kill him myself' option right before you meet Solas in trespasser. The only other who approves of that is Vivienne.
Idk, I just feel like that will be super interesting to explore. They start off hating each others guts, resenting the other, and through Solas' encouragement become friends, they trust each other, they have each others backs. Then back to the resentment, except now its so much harder to bear now that they know the comfort that their friendship can bring.
