You live in Deadwood, an old town forgotten by the world, as it is isolated by thick forests, a river and a mountain. It is one of those places that trap their residents, if you don’t get out as youth, you will likely never leave. It also has the reputation for attracting the weird and morally questionable. You had the misfortune of being born here, not only that — you work here as a detective. Granted, you only got the job a year ago or so, but you are the authority.

Now, many things start to happen all at once. Your best friend is acting more and more strange, an attractive and charming stranger moves into the town and starts to fund the mayor’s projects and takes an interest in your division. Your criminal informant is keeping secrets from you. You’re assigned a partner — one that would rather claw your eyes out than say ‘hi.’ A old friend from your past comes rocking your world in the most unpleasant way, and as strange murders start taking place — a vigilante comes to clean up the streets by any means necessary. The cherry on the top is when your captain orders you to take on a consultant on the case - the local psychic - whose first words to you make the whole world spin.

As they complained on being bored, they suggested working for you as a criminal informant. You agreed, and now they help you stop the crimes in Deadwood. As they work the street, they see a lot of what is going on and their knowledge comes at a price. For now, it’s always been reasonable, but you couldn’t help but wonder — how long before they become hungry for more?

“You had my interest, love, but now you’ve got my attention.”

Sage came to Deadwood from a big city, officially for a change of scenery, unofficially the whole town gossips about the real reason why someone so attractive, educated and rich would choose Deadwood of all places as their home. Sage has a close relationship with both the mayor and police captain, as they invest in many city and police projects. Extremely charming and seductive, Sage is one of the hottest topics in town — and fate would have it that they are looking forward to meeting the Deadwood’s youngest detective.

“I can respect your fire, little feather, but mine will get you burned.”

Ariel is a vigilante, taking justice into their own hands. As judge, jury, and executioner they rip through the crime in Deadwood, using questionable methods to achieve their goals. Legally, you can not tie them to anything, and they know it. Whatever mission they have — they are willing to die and bleed for it, and do not care for any human aspect of life as they do it. They do seem to respect you to a certain level, or just ignore your existence, as long as you stay out of their way. But what if you don’t?

“I work alone, kitten, I don’t make any exceptions, not even for you.”

Khari is your most recent headache, as they are your new assigned partner, and new to Deadwood as a whole. You know nothing about them, and they don’t exactly make it an easy job to work with them, as they would rather fight you and everyone in their line of sight. They do not like you and make it very clear from the start that they do not care for a positive relation with you. They prefer to work alone, and tend to keep it that way. But, you wonder, if there’s a chance to change that?

“It is good to have a little magic on your side, is it not?”

Roan is local good-luck charm, and coincidentally your best friend and your first kiss. You attended high school together, and went to prom as a date, on which the kiss happened. Neither of you spoke about it, however, and continued to be just best friends. They are always there when you need them, always text back, pick up the call from you, and never turn down a hang out session. You’ve seen them date many people after high school, but no one ever stayed for long, as Roan would always say they are looking for ‘the one.’ You can’t help but wonder, how would things be if you became something more?

“You make me want to go feral, and I just might let it happen.”

Riven is your childhood best friend. They used to live in the house next to yours, and would always sneak into your garden to escape their home. You never found out what made them want to run away — they never told you, and you never saw their parents nor the inside of their house. As a child they were quiet, even submissive, always wanted to please you and be on your good side, loud noises and too-fast movement made them flinch. They were, however, restless and would not sit in one place at the time, always multitasking, fiddling with their fingers, taking things apart only to put them back together. They were fiercely loyal to you, as much so that they were suspended from school for beating up a person who bullied you. When you were both 14, they disappeared along with their parents. Did they move and never said goodbye? Did something more sinister happen?

“The only happy ending we will get will be after our death, Detective.”

Morgan is a consultant, and assists police on more ‘strange’ cases. Most people of Deadwood call them the ‘Psycho Kid’ and prefer to avoid all contact with them if it’s possible. You’ve heard stories about them, it’s impossible not to. That they died as a child and now have a permanent connection with the other side — so much so that their own mother abandoned them as soon as she could, too scared of her child to stay with them. That they live in a haunted house full of spirits, and talk to ghosts, even see them all around. You never witnessed them doing anything too suspicious, but then again, you never worked with them, yet.

How it came to be is complicated. Or, well, it is for humans to understand. Like every other siren, as a dying and endangered specie, you are able to reproduce without partners. But now, bearing a child inside you and still on the run, you are much more vulnerable to Hunters.

You are aware that there is only one solution. You need someone to clam your child as their own, in order to shield you and most importantly the tiny being growing inside you from the Hunters.

You have set your eyes on the covens, in the hopes of finding a mate among the most well known and respected coven members. It will be a difficult journey, but one you need to take.

Balaar [M/F]:  a very far descendant of dymons, with only a few traits left of the being that tainted their bloodline. They are head of the biggest coven you know of, known for their stunning beauty and ability to either scare hunters away or gather huge masses to follow them till death.

They are very tall, lean, with pale skin, white iridescent hair, grey eyes and silver horns.

Kalyja [M/F]: compared to the brutal nature of sirens, lycans are no more than overgrown pups. This lycan descendant, though, seems to be even more docile than most. They thrive on praise, loyal to a fault. You wonder how far, though, their limits lie and if at one point they will snap back.

They have a powerful body, with a curly mane of auburn hair, hazel eyes and onyx skin.

Varie [genderfluid]: a kraken descendant, their mythical body horrifying, their appearance described as far from anything considered beautiful. Still, despite their public appearances being very rare, they are well known for having survived a total of eight hunts.

They have a full, soft figure, dark purple eyes, dark hair and dark skin.

The Rival: Angel Sinclair [M/F] — Ever since you arrived in Hollywood, Angel Sinclair has been there. You’re not quite sure when, or where, your rivalry even began, only that it’s made a ton of tabloids rich with the stories they’d print due to it, and you’re even less sure why you keep running into them on the same lot you’re shooting your newest movie. Is it another twisted form of punishment? With an icy exterior that puts the Arctic to shame, you don’t think you’ve ever seen them smile— at least when they’re not in front of the camera or interacting with fans. Will you uncover more as your random run-ins start losing some of their randomness?

Route: Rivals to Lovers.

The Manager: Kieran/Kiera Walker [M/F] — Probably one of the few reasons you’re still where you are. With a keen mind, a sharp eye for detail, and an even sharper tongue, K has never taken it easy on you, and they’re definitely not doing so now. While pragmatic about their approach, they’re not afraid to tell you what they think, when the time calls for it, which is something that’s definitely caused some tension in the past. Still, you don’t know what you’d do without them; as they’ve stayed steadily by your side through it all. And you don’t think they’re going anywhere anytime soon.

Route: Slow Burn.

The Director: Spencer Hale [M/F] — Last Laugh, the title of the movie you’re now part of, is the passion project that Spencer has been working on for years; trying tirelessly to get it to the silver screen. You would know— after all you were there when they began to write it back in college. Despite not having seen them in years, the gentle look in their eyes hasn’t shifted in the slightest; even if it is a bit more wary now, they don’t hesitate in offering you the same level of kindness as before. Something tells you, an almost bone deep intuition, that they’re an array of contradictions all rolled up into one package. Will you ever be able to uncover any of them?

The Bodyguard: Roman Locke [M/F] — With a penchant to wear nothing but black, sometimes with muted tones of gray thrown in, you don’t know much about the individual that’s been guarding you with their life for the last five years. Only their stellar history in the Navy, coupled with a possible connection to being a CIA Agent, though that’s never been confirmed, and the other rudimentary facets of their past that any employer needs to know. However, even if they rarely speak, you know that you’re in more than capable hands and that they take their job seriously. But what happens when that professional facade begins to crack?

The Assistant: Harley Park [M/F] — Someone who’s very good at their job while also being everywhere and nowhere all at once. You don’t know if they’ll ever get over the embarrassment of your first meeting— with them being in a fandom shirt from a project you had done a couple of years before, with you at center stage on it. With an undeniable charm, if a bit awkward in their approach, Harley is definitely someone that’d you miss interacting with once you got the chance to do so. You just have to get them to actually interact with you first.

DEMO (last updated january 12th) || Heavily based on and inspired by the “Folk of the Air” series, “A Court of Serpents” is a fantasy, character driven IF focused on the romantic aspect, created with an 18+ audience in mind. A retelling of the books written by Holly Black, it deals with heavy themes and topics such as mind manipulation, sexual content, kidnapping, swearing, violence, non consensual use of drugs, alcohol, questionable morals etc. (Wow, that’s a lot of words to say “fanfiction turned IF”.)

As the only human in the Kingdom of Faerie, you’re no stranger to shining eyes that hold looks filled with hatred, lips painted in the color of forest fruits whispering your name, heads with pointed ears turning at your every step. Though you long for their approval, for a place amongst the wicked immortals, they remind you with every breath you take that as you came from dirt, to dirt you will return.

Prince Ryzan and his friends, Nailea and Zale, are the worst of them all. Appearance: 5'11. Brunette with wavy hair (short for m, just below shoulders for f), tan skin, brown eyes, and a distinctive left brow slit. They've also got tattoos all over their body. Since the club gets hot quickly, you'll usually find them in something small and non-constricting, like a vest top and a pair of jeans. Personality: Unapologetically outspoken, they don't hold back. Blunt yet surprisingly charming, they've become somewhat of a local favourite in the area, rubbing shoulders with the right kind of people.

THE RIVAL [M/F] — Phoenix Ryder.

Appearance: 5'11. Black tightly curled hair (short for m, long for f & often styled differently), dark skin, and brown eyes. They sport a 90s-inspired style—often seen in loose-fitting denim jeans, a breezy shirt/crop top, and adorned with silver rings. Personality: Suave, charismatic, confident, and a touch cheeky—checking all the Hollywood boxes. As noted by many, "a legend in the making."

Patch things up with a (very recent) ex, who also happens to be your flatmate in Brooklyn—resolve the issues that had slowly caused a rift between you, or call it quits and move on.

Run into your first-love and find closure or rekindle an old flame. They’re doing ridiculously, absurdly, well—at least on the outside, but you wonder if anything has changed since you’d left Singapore for college.

Have a whirlwind romance with the sexy neighbour that your mom despises, mostly because they’re in an indie band (not a real job), have tattoos, and leave muddy mountain bike tracks on the common corridor.

Survive a week back home with family—and possibly even strengthen your relationships (or quickly lose your sanity when your aunt asks for the fifth time if you’re still single).

Watch the New Year’s Eve fireworks—and contemplate if your future still lies in New York, or if you should finally return to Singapore.

The game explores being in one’s late 20s, being torn between a place you’re born in versus a place you’ve chosen to build your life in, the tension between familiarity and adventure, duty and freedom, and asks: what does ‘home’ truly mean, and is it really where the heart lies?

Queen Elora (she/her): Queen Elora is the ruler of Vinia, a neighbouring kingdom to Cyre. Queen Elora is charming and attractive, but beneath her beauty is a cunning woman who wields her power with expertise.

Sir Oren (he/him): Sir Oren is the captain of the guard of the Vinian Royal Guard. While Sir Oren can come across as straitlaced, he can be kind and generous to those he respects.

Anu (she/her): Anu is a Priestess of Ehulla and believes that the only way to end the war between Ishari and Cyre is through bloodshed. Brash and unafraid of confrontation, Anu will fight for what she believes in.
