dante's inferno idk I never read comedy

yaknow dante’s inferno is basically just fanfiction of historical and religious figures that is set in hell

Don't know if any of you've read Dante's Divine comedy, but yeah.. In the books this is an inscription above the gates of hell. Felt fitting as to the way they view their homes I thought..
Shoutout to childhood! ..no wait... 💀

francesca by hozier is easily one of the best love songs out there.
the fact that she is suffering an eternity of torture which includes being stuck in a hurricane but still loves paolo just as much as she loved him when they were alive
the fact that hozier said in an interview: "there's no punishment in spending an eternity arm in arm with the person you'd die for"
the fact that she admits that she would do it all again (go through a terrible death and then litreal hell and torture) just to hold him for a single minute
the fact that the song ends with the lyrics "heaven is not fit to house a love like you and i" and were the song played on repeat the end would flow perfectly with the beginning in order to mimic the hurricane

1/3rd of my triptych for Dante’s Inferno, It’s all Brush Pen and Graphite and like huge so i’m kinda killing myself for this. This is my interpretation of the 9th ring
all of a sudden francesca has become my favorite unreal unearth song just from learning the story behind it. its like actually so incredibly tragic and the way hozier describes that then flips it on its head, saying how they would do it again just to have a minute with each other. that heaven was not fit to house a love like theirs? im gonna go cry now

“Do you think I'd give up
That this might've shook the love from me
Or that I was on the brink?
How could you think, darling, I'd scare so easily?
Now that it's done
There's not one thing that I would change
My life was a storm, since I was born
How could I fear any hurricane?”
“Heaven is not fit to house a love like you and I”

Christianity is actually really cool
I just got done binging Wendigoon's old series on Dante's Divine Comedy, and I have to say, it really gave me an appreciation for just how awesome Christian writings, and by extent the bible really are. It's so hard to appreciate the cool aspects of Christianity these days because so many people in Gen Z associate it with right-wing politics and annoying preachers. It's much easier when you are allowed to take in these ideas without people pressuring you to believe a certain thing about it.
And sure, there are still many ideas I disagree with, but the ideals of virtue in helping others and the way it's explained in the Christian cannon are really inspiring to me. The reputation of Christianity would be so much better with secular people if there were more Christians willing to explain Christianity in a manner that wasn't so pushy and judgmental.
Anyways, I just felt inspired to write this post and put my thoughts out there. Check out Wendigoons videos on Dante's Divine Comedy if you ever get the chance.
