🐭🥋☯️ Day 11: Favorite Splinter ☯️🥋🐭

@tmaynt

 Day 11: Favorite Splinter

I love this man. Have you seen 87 TMNT? He's simply so precious. A real sweet guy. A warm hearted softy.

There's an episode where a ray can demutate him and he personally destroys it to protect his turtles. There's an episode he showed up guns literally ablaze to save his boys. He calls the turtles "my turtles" or "my sons". There's also an episode where he cures the turtles by giving them moth balls and gaslighting them. He let's them call him 'Master Splinter' because that's their nickname for him because he's really good at splitting wood. There was an episode where Donatello made an anti mutagen and Splinter told them he'd rather stay with his boys. He's the ultimate found family dad.

🥰💕🥰💕🥰💕

Close up!

Writing challenge Day 11: write about your siblings

Okay so, I have two sisters, one is younger than me, I'll call her M, and one is older than me, I'll call her R. They both look a lot like me. I don't see R very often, only around Christmas, Eastern, sometimes Halloween and on her birthday, because she lives kinda far away. She's pretty nice and a little bit clueless sometimes. We always used to play together and watch videos on her computer. She'd also let me write my first stories on it. M on the other hand may look like my twin (except for the eye colour) but we're completely different. She cares a lot about how she looks and stuff while I always look like a sack of potatoes. She also loves math and sport which I hate, while she on the other hand hates history and languages, which I love. People always confuse us, even my friends. I still help her and I am still nice to her though. We all get along very well.

I started Moriarty the patriot btw👍

Inktober 2019 #11: Skaepara Plant

The fruit of the Skaepara Plant is well-known for the map-like patterns on its surface. It is favored for decorative purposes and dyeing for its magnificent blue color. It is edible, but not particularly favored by Amicans. The leaves also may only be good for filler in tea, and are instead preferred for decorative and fashion purposes.

I Forgot To Post These Yesterday, So Heres The Next Batch!

I forgot to post these yesterday, so here’s the next batch!

Kanebomi Plant A tall, leafy plant found sparsely in places such as coastal Furheart Iiah, some islands near Warminia Songlianne, and the nooks between Laykia Layna and Amicaia on Wing Alayna. The Kanebomi is a delicious, somewhat savory fruit on par with the Spotil in popularity. It is often imported for cooking, and since it is so rare, is rarely enjoyed raw, even though some may argue it's just as good raw as it is cooked.

Sweetflutes Deep in the Great Buddy Forest, one may happen upon a number of colorful Sweetflutes growing. They are rather hard and glass-like, but when plucked and carved their sound is top-notch. Little maintenance is needed, but they are very hardy and may try to grow back, especially if left in a damp place or abandoned somewhere. They have been known to replant themselves if left on the ground a while, so replucking as well as recarving might be necessary for such a wayward Sweetflute.

Vin Vinia An odd little vine with even stranger fruits. They might go good in a salad, and dried they can be used to make string or thread. They can also be used to make green dyes. It is a fairly rare plant in Wing Alayna, found only in some parts of northwest coastal Amicaia as well as deep south near (and past) the border of Laykia Layna. It is fairly common in the Reline Ah archipelago, but only found deep inland in its southern counterpart, the Fuline Ah archipelago.

Oisha Lalan Though perhaps a somewhat ordinary appearance in the forest, the leaves of the Oisha Lalan are quite well-known for their use in brewing a most exquisite tea. The center of the leaf has a strange, sour, almost sweet taste, balanced by the dryness and slight bitterness of its frayed edges. The plant is rather prolific, such that its leaves are rarely in short supply. It can be found in both the Great Buddy and Pachimori Forests, as well as places in Fuline and Reline Ah.

Belia Lunala A fluorescent flower found in Crescent Minoria. In its bell grows an epiphytic Yelia Radiani flower which helps it convert lunar light into a kind of white liquid, which gathers in its bell. This liquid serves to amplify the energy of the lunar light enough to serve the needs of both flowers, while also looking like quite a sight. The white liquid, when stored, can be used to provide light for a long time, though it is not preferred for its bright white light so much as the softer illumination from regular Radiani blossoms or other luminescent flora. The petals also have a rather sour taste, and can add an interesting flavor to tea when brewed. Being so bright yellow also makes its rather unusual slight in Crescent Minoria, as many of its flowers instead have glassy or black petals, so it can also be used as a wayfinder in the dark.

Miniwingola Lifernandes A curious flora that grows in the cloud grounds of Caela Amicaia. It can also grow in soil, but may not sprout its characteristic pair of wing-like leaves there. As such, the wingless variety is usually called by a different first name, such as Thinfrond instead of Miniwingola. Either way, they are fragrant herbs that make a great addition or garnish to any dish. The taste varies depending on the species and where it goes. The sky variety may take on a flavor like rosemary or thyme, while the ground variety sage or even parsley in wetter climates.

Omu-omu Plantai A very long-leafed plant similar to a succulent. It is often kept like an outdoor houseplant, the long leaves being tied up so they don't run along the ground and risk being trampled. In the rainier months the leaves become more cocoon-like unless intervention is made, sealing them off from receiving too much water in the rainier months, as it prefers a more arid climate. The plant can be found in Amicaia, colloquially named The Buddys’ Land, or the northern half of Wing Alayna, and on the continent of Warminia Songlianne, particularly away from the coast where it can get lots of sun without too much moisture. It is thought to originate from the latter, or perhaps a less rainy place in Wing Alayna.

Bigleaf Mineep (a.k.a Okipla Mineep) A small flower with a singularly large leaf. It is said that the Mineep puts all its love and care into its leaf, and neglects its flower, resulting in its pale petals and overall wilty appearance. Okipla leaves are favored in leaf-boat making for their size, and are cultivated in the palace garden to help faster production, as Buddys are strangely inept at farming, preferring to seek and gather rather than create large agricultural areas (something about liking grass too much, who knows?) A single leaf can also be broken up and used for salad, though there are some who take pity on the beloved leaf and refuse to use it.

Seafaring Mamolia As the name implies, the Seafaring Mamolia is a strange little flower that grows in the ocean (some may also be found in lakes, but then they'd be lakefaring now wouldn't they?), protecting a tiny flower with its colorful, petal-like bracts. It has a large root-float system to help keep it upright, even in boisterous waves. Strangely enough, they have seldom been seen to wash ashore naturally, and even in rare cases, never run completely aground. Though some still may help a near-washed up Mamolia get back to sea, independent as others claim the flower to be. With its many roots, bundles of them are sometimes dried and used for ropes and strings. The bracts, usually already salted by the sea, can also make quite a nice snack when dried.

Lesser Cloudia Founta (a.k.a Miniature Skypalm) A small tree-plant with palm-like bark. It has very shiny, almost metallic leaves that can be used in the creation of decorative armors, or else just as decoration. It will only grow in Sky Alayna, though it has been found in the cloud lands above Fuline Ah and it's islands as well. It is fairly easy to cultivate, but does not grow well with other plants, preferring the cloud to itself or at least with minimal nearby competition. Otherwise, it can make a fairly nice outdoor plant in one's yard or garden.

Honeydrop Flussom

Honeydrop Flussom

Thought to be imported from Crescent Minoria, though it is also speculated that it is a crossbreed of a Rinrin Boubou flower for its nectar-dripping quality, or else a distant relative of the Wingilana Skyplantona for the similar quality of its nectar. Found in the Pachimori Forest, it prefers shady places, and the yellow points on it are thought to change color depending on the conditions it’s in--whether hot, dry, moist, etc--and/or to denote the ‘mood’ of the plant. Its Crescent Minoria heritage though is evident by the sheen of its stem and leaves, as well as the glowing quality the yellow bits have. It is distinct from a Crescent Minoria native flower however in that it does not produce lunar liquid, but only sweet nectar that can be boiled to create a honey-like substance, or consumed raw for a more watery but still sweet taste. Though it has been shown that exposing it to a lot of moonlight will cause the nectar to become milkier, and keep that quality until it has gone without moonlight for a good long period of time. In this way it is thought to be capable of at least blending a lunar liquid-like substance with its nectar, but as it does not seem to consume the lunar liquid like native Crescent Minoria plants do, it is thought perhaps that the need for it was bred out of it, allowing it to freely share whatever substance it creates with whoever is willing to put a container under it. During the Tea Festival, it is common to find wanderers place tea cups under it to collect its nectar to sweeten their tea. The steam from fresh tea is also thought to stimulate nectar production, but this may have more to do with condensation from the steam loosening up crystallized nectar that gathers on the surface of the antennae-like stamen. The petals are also sometimes used as temporary pillows by wanders, as they are quite soft, though usually damp. They can even be sticky from nectar that gets trapped between the petals, so washing and drying them might be the best to produce a feather-like quality.

Riciani
Riciani
Riciani

Riciani

A small, mushroom-like tree that can be found on the outskirts of Pachimori and the Great Buddy Forest. Other varieties of it can be found in the Fuline Islands and certain southern Reline Islands. There's even a variety to be found on the coast of Furheart Iiah and in Warminia Songliane. Riciani and other rice-producing plants are a popular commodity with Neonya and Kitonya owners, as the kernels that the Riciani grows are an essential food source for domesticated pets like the Neonya and Kitonya, so its cosmopolitan nature lends itself to being a fairly reliable food source for these pets. That, and, so long as it is near water or is fresh out of the rainy season, it can regrow it's supply fairly quickly, so as long as one is willing to make the trek to the nearest wild Riciani or the nearest shop where the kernels can be found, owners of Neonyas or Kitonyas seldom have a lack of supply. However, these two species must be fed portions rather than left to free-feed, as they are known to devour what would usually last them a week in one meal if left to their own devices. Perhaps this is why Riciani adapted to fruiting so prolifically in a short time, as wild Neonyas or Kitonyas would seldom spare them if found.

Heleh Lifurloa

Heleh Lifurloa

If the Clera Fula signifies the start of the rainy season, the Heleh Lifurloa signifies the end. Its root system works tirelessly to help drain the land and stabilize the ground in the wake of the rainy season. In the dry months, however, it's nowhere to be seen. By what process it disappears has yet to be directly observed, but in particularly wet years when the Heleh Lifurloas are far and few in between, they are sometimes seen all year round, vanishing only when the ground around it is sufficiently drained.

It has long, string-like sticky pistils with which to collect wind-blown pollen as Heleh Lifurloas tend not to grow close together. It stores water in its stem, leaves, petals and tubers, which, aside from the petals, all share a glassy appearance. The leaves and tubers swell the more water they collect and shrink as the plant uses it up. The tubers can be shaped to create beautiful, decorative pieces. The leaves and stems are not so easily manipulated, but nevertheless make elegant, decorative pieces if caught before their mysterious disappearance.

The corolla is sometimes plucked to be used as a decorative container, similar to a Jara Flora. The nectar is used to sweeten tea themed around the flower during the Tea Festival. The leaves, stem and tubers can be melted and boiled down to create a slightly sweet syrup as well, but as the initial melted plant is full of water, it usually takes quite a while to boil it down to a syrup, and few parts of the plant are edible without processing. The pistils are trimmed and used to add a sweet, herbal note to tea themed around the plant.
