Dragon Age The Veilguard - Tumblr Posts
it was TOO PAINFUL to hear "people are always dying; it is what they do" from Solas since he shares GDL's voice with Ianto
5 minute sketch young Solas with no reference
but i love him so much
What to read before The Veilguard drops
Yes people, we have homework. In case you missed it, or need to refresh that memory because hey, it's been a while, here's a quick short list of what to (re)read in preparation for this new entry in the series.
Books:
From Tevinter Nights: Down among the dead men (introduces Emmrich and Manfred), The wigmaker job (introduces Lucanis).
The Last Flight, last novel released somewhere around DA: Inquisition. Takes the action to Weisshaupt, Grey Wardens HQ, and jumps between that present and the past explaining how the Griffons became extinct during the Fourth Blight. Will explain where Davrin's griffon came from.
Comics:
Magekiller. It's pretty introductory overall, set around Inquisition but it introduces "magekillers" as a job some people do. While in Tevinter Nights Lucanis is introduced as an Antivan Crow seems he's decided to change careers so it can't hurt to learn a bit about it.
The missing. Gives us Varric and Scout Harding already working together, and introduces us to Neve.
Short Stories:
Posted a while back in the BioWare page for Dragon Age day as crumbs to feast on while we waited, and waited, and waited..I recommend reading all of them simply because most people may have missed them and they add to lore and characters that while not among the new companions may still make an appearance and be relevant in Veilguard.
Of course I recommend reading EVERYTHING if possible, it all adds more layers and flavor and we know Solas is in the details, we can't miss a thing, but I think if you're short on time this counts as light reading enough to know where you'll land when Dragon Age: The Veilguard finally arrives.
they stopped a whole ass blight. give them the griffon.
Seeing people whine about Dragon Age: The Veilgard in YouTube comments sections about the fact you can give your Rook pronouns and top surgery scars.
I am about to make the GAYEST most TRANGENDER Rook ever. That mf is gonna have blue hair and pronouns. He WILL be a mage, and he WILL be romancing Lucanis.
Bingo Sheets for everyone to print off My Free Space suggestion is “And the Warden still doesn’t make a fucking appearance”
— The world teeters on a knife's edge, but together you have the power to fight back.

Not a massive fan of how this came out but here’s Ms. Neve Gallus
Now where have I heard this line before? It just seems so familiar
Interesting lol
Ive heard that we'll be able to load our previous dai world state but maybe it said something in a different way and I misunderstood. We get to "make choices" but we can't load it exactly? What does that mean for the inquisitor? (I want to see my little guy lol) or maybe I'm just confused, I'm sorry
hello! ◕‿◕ All good! We will see the Inquisitor in the game. Worldstates will not be loaded directly, as in from save files or The Keep anything. They said that during the character creation process, we will "be able to customize [our] Inquisitor from the last game's story and make a few key decisions that will impact how DA:TV begins". [source, two] There won’t be any way to carry the Inquisitor's appearance 'data' over from DA:I into the game [source: the Discord] (because the tech is too different) so it sounds like it will be a case of re-creating them from scratch in DA:TV's new CC. For the world state, DA:TV will not use the Keep [source]. DA:TV will not read saves from DA:O, DAII or DA:I [source], because the technology is very different and they wanted this to be in the client. How we will 'tell' the game what our choices were will look a little different this time. They said:
"In an interview with IGN, Dragon Age: The Veilguard Game Director Corinne Busche says the ability to import your choices is “fully integrated into the character creator this time around.” “What’s not lost on us is that it’s been 10 years since existing players have played. They might not remember [what they did in previous games],” Busche explains. “They might need that refresher and we don’t want new players to feel like they’re missing out on those decisions. So in the character creator, I like to call it last time on Dragon Age, but you can go into your past adventures and it, actually through tarot cards, tells you what the context was and what decision you want to make.” Busche also confirms that The Veilguard players won’t have to link to their accounts for this option, as you’ll be able to play the game fully offline." [source]
This is just speculation on my part, but what I imagine is like - you know how in the start of DA:I, you select the Inquisitor's race and class from tarot cards? Something like that, but for certain choices we made in our past adventures instead, and for less choices than there are in the Keep (which has sooo many choices and tiles), so maybe mostly just major ones? the way it's described reminds me somewhat of Mass Effect Genesis, only instead of a 'comic' style, it's with tarot cards. (/end speculation ^^) I hope this helped. :>
IMO this is made even funnier by the fact that Varric literally says this exact thing to him, seconds before Solas fucks up plan 3
Solas trying to use "I have a plan" at the end of trespasser to reassure the inquisitor like he didn't just admit to fucking up his last two big plans literally seconds ago is made even funnier in light of the reveal that he does indeed fuck up that plan
These are the times in which legends are born or slain. DRAGON AGE: THE VEILGUARD | Release Date Trailer
Tiny baby aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa 🥰
Does this story have griffons in it?
DRAGON AGE: THE VEILGUARD dev. Bioware (2024) Assan the griffon
Can you imagine how many more fun interactions and snippets we could be getting about Dragon Age: The Veilguard if EA would just sign the damn contract with SAG-AFTRA?
i hope bioware releases outfit reference kits like they did for the companions and advisors in DAI
by the way artists did you know lol
Honestly as we reach halfway through the month towards Veilguard dropping it still hasn't quite hit that a new Dragon Age game is actually coming. The nebulous "Dragon Age 4" I've been wanting for ten years is actually going to be real. It's not called Dragon Age 4, it's called Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The Dragon Age 4 protag exists, they're called "Rook" and they have hair physics. It's not a dream anymore it's an actual game I will get to really play. After ten years of crumbs. Only 15 more days. Surreal experience
Lucanis Dellamorte!
I'm still trying to figure out his face structure 😫
