LESSONS IN VISUALISATION.
Reupload from my old account but with some changes! I was @fangwitch before.
Part two here.
Visualisation is incredibly useful in witchcraft as it is the base of energy work. From this, you can do all kinds of practices.
You can use visualisation as a tool for meditation, astral travel, and wider spellwork such as sending energy into objects among other things.
So, how do I start?
Here’s a few basic exercises for you to practice. They're very simple and many of you will probably be able to pick it up easily if you’ve already done visualisation techniques!
Exercise One
1. If you're new to visualisation, you’ll need a quiet area where you’ll be comfortable. Even lying in bed and putting white noise in your headphones works. Get rid of all distractions, put your phone on silent if you can.
2. Close your eyes, and imagine a mountain. It's important to remember that not everyone is capable of picturing an exact image in their head - some people only conjure the idea of a mountain or a blurry image instead. Don't get frustrated with yourself, these techniques can be built on over time but should still be personalised to your abilities
3. Allow any passing thoughts to float by like clouds, inconsequential to the strength of your mountain. Breathe slow and deep as they pass you by. Bring your focus back to the mountain each time your mind drifts away.
4. You can use this technique as a way to ease yourself into practicing regular meditation too. Try it for five minutes a day, and you can even expand on what the mountain looks like, what animals might be there, and what it sounds and smells like, in time.
Exercise Two
1. Begin again by getting comfortable somewhere quiet and without distractions. Take some slow, deep breaths and close your eyes.
2. Imagine an apple, any old apple. Slowly, focus in on the details. Does it have leaves, more than one colour? Consider each tiny detail of the apple you’ve created.
3. Next, imagine a knife. Consider the size, the weight of the handle and what kind of metal it might be made of. Once you have an understanding of the details of your knife, take it and cut the apple in half. Focus on the detail inside: the colour, how many seeds there are etc. The more detail, the better.
4. Now, use your senses. What does the apple feel like, smell like? Bite into it and taste it. You’re using visualisation to not only see the apple but understand everything about it, how it interacts with the world around it.
5. With regular practice, you should be able to visualise and interact with objects in your mind. Practice often with anything you like.
Thank you for reading. I am trying to write regular lessons again, so please reply or message with any witchy info you would be interested in learning!

VISUALISATION, CONTINUED.
A continuation from lessons in visualisation.
In this lesson, we will explore further techniques, how to maintain regular practice, and alternatives for visualisation for those who might find it harder than others.
Alternatives to visualising
Some people will struggle to visualise, whether that is because of their mental or physical health, an inability to sit still or to focus, or they cannot picture an image in their mind.
It is important to remember that we have other senses. Visualisation doesn't rely on sight alone, and though it may sound that way, it instead makes the basics of spellcasting and meditation inaccessible.
☆ Forget trying to picture things, that's not the be-all end-all. Try to feel things. To smell and hear and taste, to love and hate. Consider raindrops falling on every inch of your body, moving slowly from your head down to your toes; let the water cleanse you as it rolls off your skin. Even if you cannot see them, your body knows the sensation and the smell of rain on your body.
☆ If any type of sensory imagination is too hard, play music in the background instead. It doesn't have to be calming music in particular, just something you can enjoy and zone out to. (I have been known to meditate and even nap to breakcore). Let the rest of the world fade away as you absorb the music fully, listening to every note individually and as part of the whole. Alternatively, you can try counting. Just start counting, out loud or in your head, up from 1 or down from 1000, and let that be the only thing your mind focuses on - the steady rhythm of the numbers.
☆ Consider using white, brown, pink or green noise to help you focus too. White noise doesn't sound good to everyone, and the various types use different frequencies which can be soothing for some.
The whole idea is to move away from the focus of seeing things in your head, while still allowing you to build up energy when concentrating on an end goal like meditation or a spell.
How do I practice regularly?
Methods of visualisation can very easily be simplified to make them faster and easier for regular practice.
☆ You could try seeing or feeling the energy around you or around an object such as a crystal or a tree, or the energy moving through your body.
☆ Try closing your eyes when it’s sunny and recalling the feeling, smell and sound of rain. Or the other way around. Feel the warm sun on you in the winter, or a cosy fire in your hands.
A good idea is to practice during meditation as often as you can. Remember, being able to visualise in some form is incredibly useful for energy manipulation. (Including but not limited to shielding, centering, grounding, manifestation and wider spellwork).
As always, thank you for reading. Please drop a message/ask if you want to see anything particular in future lessons.

Introduction to Shielding
If you haven’t already, check out my lessons on visualisation for the basic knowledge you’ll need to begin practicing shielding.
So what is shielding?
Shielding is a manipulation of energy, used to create a barrier between yourself and unwanted, usually negative or malicious energies. It’s a basic aspect of spellwork that everyone, beginner or experienced, should use to keep themselves safe.
What can I use shielding for?
Some beginner-level uses for shielding are drawing a circle, or casting a spell. A more experienced individual might use shielding in astral travel or spirit work, where there are a lot more malicious energies involved. Personally, I use shielding as often as possible, for instance when I do tarot readings, spells, spirit work, shadow work, and especially cursing. It gives that extra guarantee that you won't flood your personal space with unwanted energies.
Other uses include shielding against real-life dangers, to a certain degree. I often shield when I am walking through town at night for extra protection. But please remember to take other measures too! Call someone, pretend to be on the phone, plan your route, and even carry pepper spray if it's legal where you are.
An easy shielding method:
The easiest way to explain this is to think of your energy as a physical manifestation. Think how power attacks are shown in anime or cartoons - a streak of colour or light, or an element. Make it personable to you: fire signs (Leo/Aries/Sagittarius) might visualise fire, or a red energy or light etc.
Firstly, some people prefer to cleanse before shielding. I don't think its all that necessary but the choice is yours.
Begin by easing yourself into meditation. Get comfortable, and use whichever technique works for you. I have various methods for this in my visualisation lessons if you are struggling.
Attempt to visualise the energies surrounding you in your mind. It might be a swirling colour of light, almost like a cloud of dust. It could be flames, it could be water. Maybe try to see it held within your hand.
Now, attempt to shape this energy around your entire body. You might want to start with a bubble or a cube surrounding you. Feel this shape surrounding and protecting you. Visualise negative and unwanted energies being held back by it.
You can also layer shields, so if you are working with a particularly malicious energy you might want to have multiple shapes surrounding you, all within each other. You can also work with deities or spirits to ask them to shield you too.
Shielding Incantation
When I am shielding, I recite a spell as well as using visualisation techniques.
The shield of protection, I carry it strong, No ill wishes or trouble shall come along, You cannot harm me, or weaken my soul, My light is my weapon, and peace is my goal.
Try it out for yourself and let me know in the comments how it went! Thank you as always for reading. Please message for requests.

Grounding versus Adjustment
Puella Magi Madoka Magia Side Story: Magia Record introduces the idea of Adjustment: a procedure performed by a Coordinator or Adjuster that can be done to ‘enhance’ a magical girl’s Soul Gem. This enhancement can come in the form of removing impurities or unlocking further magical potential. Adjustment is also necessary when a magical hero uses their Doppel to avoid succumbing to despair.
Adjustment, as it is portrayed in Puella Magi Madoka Magia Side Story: Magia Record, is not a replacement for professional and personal therapeutic practices or experienced Shadow Work. I would strongly advise any magical hero to have a strong foundation in grounding and shielding practices before engaging in any serious work. If you’d like, imagine that your therapist, social worker, or other professional therapeutic practitioner is your Coordinator—they are there to provide you as a magical hero an essential service.
Grounding, on the other hand, is something any magical hero can do and is a foundational technique for any practicing magician. To put it simply, grounding is a way of eliminating excess energy and tempering high emotions that you may have stored up during a ritual or a working. If you have practiced centering as an energy technique, the fundamentals of grounding are simple: remember how you learned to manipulate energy when you learned to center? That's what you'll do to ground, only instead of drawing that energy inside you, you'll push it out—whether that is into the void, into an object, or to be carried off by the elements. Strong visualizations certainly help with grounding but also try something physical or tangible to strengthen its effects; try using your hands or your feet to push out that extra energy and feel it drain into the earth. You can also engage other senses in your grounding like by using cleansing herbs as an incense or spray, or by eating a comforting and antioxidant rich food like dark chocolate.
I often shield as well as part of my grounding practice. This helps protect my magical and physical body that may have become raw from high energy and emotions. Shielding is a way of protecting yourself from psychic, mental, or magical attack by creating an energy barrier around yourself that others cannot penetrate. When shielding, I do not completely close myself out from the world and others around me—I’m simply fortifying my defenses while I am recuperating.
This is my first post in a series of Magi Praxis writings I have planned. If you have any suggestions for future topics, please send me a message! I am always happy to go back and provide further explanation as well. ☆
420 Friendly Witch Tips
Just so you know, I’m of age in a state where weed is legal. If you’re not in a legal area or age range, I wouldn’t recommend this. And it’s not for everyone! If you’re not interested that’s more than okay! It’s YOUR craft for a reason! I’ve just tailored mine to me a little bit here too.
I smoke on a pretty regular basis, both recreationally and for things such as anxiety and other mental health reasons. I’ve realized that there are a lot of reasons it has such a calming effect. It could be breath work, could be visual stimulation from the smoke swirls, it could be that it’s easier to let my thoughts come and go without lingering on them. Either way, I realized that I could incorporate that zen into my craft. Here are some of the ways I do that!
1. Moon water in your bong
2. smoke cleansing your space/crystals,etc
3.Visualizing internal cleansing as you inhale and exhale
4. Add intent to each hit. After all, you’re taking a deep breath, why not focus your energy on something you’d like to come to fruition? I manifest a clear, level head.
5. I haven’t quite worked with deities yet, but I’ve seen many others say that sharing or dedicating a bowl to your deities can be something they like, depending on who you work with. I don’t know much about deities, so I’ll stop here.
6. Ashes. Weed ashes can be used in spellwork, similar to incense ash and other forms.
7. I personally like to smoke a little, meditate for a moment, and then do a couple of tarot readings. I find I’m more open when I smoke
8. In reference to number 7, I also bought a smoke blend meant to be mixed with weed (or tobacco but that’s not my vibe), that has things like mugwort, lavender, valerian, and more that’s specifically used to help open the third eye and your senses. I bought through the company called Bear Blend (not a sponsor, I honestly don’t think they know I exist). I chose this brand since it’s a small indigenous run business, and as a small town native person, I tend to support as many indigenous businesses I can.
I hope this was helpful, and remember to please make wise decisions based on the laws in your area. I don’t recommend this to anyone underage or in a place where it is illegal. If you choose to make an unwise decision, please don’t hold me liable. And again, if its not your cup of tea, don’t worry about it! Your craft is for you to enjoy.

Let’s talk about grounding
To be grounded and centered is necessary to be mindful in your daily activities. It is also crucial, as we know, after a spiritual practice or after magick working. And in an overall view, to be grounded is good for you, as you can be a better version of yourself. So let’s tap in. Here are some grounding techniques which works for me:
The basic grounding technique is mindful deep breathing.
Wherever you are, preferably in a quiet place, close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Feel the fresh air filling your abdomen, your lungs, and your throat, then exhale slowly. Repeat until you feel connected.
If you’d like to deepen the effect, add a visualization.
Sit or lay down comfortably, eyes closed, and imagine that you are on the ground. Feel the soil beneath you, and imagine a flow of energy coming down your body and connects with Earth’s depths. The element you’ll be working with is obviously earth, so you may imagine yourself as a tree, deepening its roots into the ground.
Another option is using crystals.
Basically, any black, brown, or red crystal will do the work, as they refer to our first, root chakra which connects us to the physical plane of being. Personally, I prefer tiger’s eye, black onyx, and red jasper in my practice. As you meditate, place the crystal of your choice in your left hand (the ‘energy receptive’ hand), take deep breaths, and sense the crystal’s energy, let it ground you.
Note – make sure you’ve cleansed the crystal before use.
Foods and herbs for grounding:
Grains and their products.
Vegetables and berries.
Basil, oregano, thyme, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, and rosemary.
Bonus –
Grounding herbal tea recipe:
1 cup of boiled water
1 cinnamon stick
3-4 slices of ginger
1 lemon slice
1-2 tsp. of honey
Mix the ingredients (except the honey) and leave it under a cover for 5 min. (so the essential oils won’t evaporate). Add the honey and enjoy your tea.
Stay centered and blessed be! ✨🌟✨

Here are some tips for you to keep your energetic field strong and bright ✨☀️✨
For the confidence boosting ritual - You should carry the Carnelian with you, like in a pocket or bra.💜🖤💜
Energy Work 101: Basic Shielding
"Shielding" is an energy work technique that puts a protective sphere of energy around you. This technique is basic at its core, but can be continually evolved and upgraded to become very advanced and powerful indeed.
Concepts & Theory
Most all shields are spherical or egg-shaped.
Shields are often sized to be an outstretched arm's length away from your body, plus a foot (30cm) or so extra all around. You can make them any size you like. Because they are made of energy, the bigger they are, the more energy they take.
Shields fade away. Depending on how stable they are when you make them, they may fade within hours or days.
Shields can and will affect your mood and how people perceive you.
It is a good idea to practice dismantling/undoing shields as often as you practice creating them.
While the most basic shield is a bubble of white light, they can be endlessly modified.
You can have more than one shield at once. They can be stacked concentrically. Think about which shields you want to be closer to you and which you want on the outside next to others.
One of the most useful ways to modify a shield is to specifically choose what kinds of energies you want to bet let in, and what kinds you want to keep out.
The basic technique used for energy shielding can also be used for other techniques such as glamours, energy cleansing, object charging, and some forms self-care. Because of this, shielding is a good place to start practicing practical energy work.
Shielding is a cousin of aura-imprinting. The technique I am talking about here puts a bubble of energy on the outside of your aura. Aura-imprinting/strengthening techniques refer to changing your aura itself.
Methods of Shield-Raising
There are as many methods to accomplish shielding as there are people. Here are a couple:
1. Make one hand into a fist and place it over your heart. Place your other palm on top of it. Gently push down on your chest to create pressure - not so much that it hurts. Imagine, feel, believe, or know that within your chest is a wellspring of energy. This energy pools around your fist as you create pressure there. When you are ready, move your fist away from your body (experiment with both fast and slow motions). Imagine, feel, believe, or know that an energy sphere grows from that place in your chest and expands until it surrounds you. It stops expanding about a foot away from your outstretched arms.
2. Breathe in. As you breathe in, consider that you are pulling pure energy out of the air and into your body. Hold your breath for a beat and decide that when you exhale, that pure energy is going to start forming a sphere around your body. As you exhale, imagine, feel, believe, intend, or know that this energy flows around you to start forming an energy shell. Continue breathing in and out with intent until you can easily imagine, feel, or believe that the shell has become solid and complete.
3. Consider a pop-culture method that a character uses to shield themselves. Steven Universe can do that rose quartz thing, for example. Or, imagine Captain Picard of Star Trek saying, "shields up!" and the Enterprise being surrounded by powerful protective energy. Copying a pop-culture technique can be extremely effective for shielding. Put your intent towards causing real power to flow, and let culture be your guide.
4. Consider that your body is permanently connected to your environment and there is always free energy exchange passing between you and the world around you. This process is automatic, but like your breath, you have the ability to take control of this process if you so choose. Feel the parts of you making contact with the world below (your feet, or bottoms of your legs if you are sitting). Decide, intend, choose, or will that the energy passing into your body at those points will instead rise up and surround you in a shield. You may need to actively stay with this process and continually will it to occur; with practice you may need to only check in every now and then.
A Method of Shield-Dissolving
1. Consider that you have placed energy around yourself which exists there whether or not you can feel it. Decide, intend, choose, or will that this energy breaks up and dissolves. You get to choose what to do with the energy. Options include:
Drawing it back into yourself
Pushing it down into the earth
Releasing it into the air around you
Would you like to do a fun experiment? Release the energy into the air around you in a closed room with no open doors or windows :)
Consider drawing energy back into yourself until you feel your storage containers are full, then pushing the rest of it downwards and into the earth.
Basic Shield Programming
For practice in raising and putting down energy, the form or shape your shield takes doesn't really matter. If you need to know what form it will take in order to complete the exercise, the most basic shield is considered to be a smooth bubble of white light; you can choose to practice with any form you like.
Programming a shield basically means to choose its effects. Common effects include limiting emotional intake from others, and blocking out environmental energy.
Form should follow function. If you want an energy shield to totally completely block out 100 of environmental energies, its form may take an opaque, solid black orb. If you want the shield to limit some energies but not others, it may take the form of a chain-link fence, be semi-opaque, or be like vines with gaps-inbetween them.
Experimenting with what forms work best for you is worthwhile. You do not necessarily need to choose a specific form: simply putting willpower behind your intent will also suffice.
Two Methods of Programming
I recommend trying the first technique for initially creating the shield, and the second technique for making adjustments once it exists.
1. Choose the intent of your shield before you even begin making it. As you begin gathering power, hold your intent in the forefront of your mind. Understand, believe, or know that the shield will not be created in general, but that it will be created within the specifications of your intent, like pancake batter poured into a cookie cutter mold. Hold your intent at the forefront of your mind while energy is gathered and released into the shield. (This is what you're doing automatically if you choose a pop culture technique with specific shield purpose and form)
2. Create a general/basic shield in any way you prefer. Observe, believe, feel, understand, or know that this basic shield is under your control and will respond to your intent. Select an intent. Pour your intent into the existing shield. This may be done through the vehicle of the breath, hand symbols, eye gazes, chanting, or any desired method. Observe, believe, feel, understand, or know that the shield responds to your will like a pond rippling when a rock is thrown in. Maintain your focus until you sense the work is complete, or until you're tired or bored.
How To Sense Your Own Energy

Energy Work 101: Sensing Energy
When first trying to sense energy, it's suggested you try on crystals and objects first. The first step to learning to sense crystal energy is to discover which is your sending hand and which is your receiving. Although some ambidextrous people can sense energy equally in both hands, most people find they have one hand in which they feel energy more strongly. Typically, your receiving hand is your nondominant hand and it draws in universal energy. Your sending hand is your dominant hand (the hand with which you write) and moves energy out of the body and back out to the universe after the receiving hand has drawn it in. The process of sending and receiving energy is constant, but you can also consciously direct the energy flow, during healing and meditation, for example.
SENSING YOUR OWN ENERGY FIELD: A simple way to become familiar with energy is to learn to sense your own. Start by rubbing the palms of your hands together to activate the tiny energy centers located here. Then draw your hands apart and slowly move them together, palms facing one another until you feel the quality of the energy shift or change. Continue moving your hands together and apart to become familiar with the feeling of your energy.
Don't get caught up on if you can or cannot feel it right away. Use visualization if it helps you. You aren't imagining it and you're doing great. Take a minute to just play with the energy. Make it grow larger, make it tiny. Envision it turning into different elements, different shapes, moving around away from your hands using your will and intent to guide it. Play with it, see or sense it in your mind's eye, and roll with it. It may seem silly at first, but I promise it works.
For some, sensing energy is difficult, it may come more naturally to others but don't get discouraged. Keep practicing.
SENSING DEITY AND SPIRIT ENERGY: One great way to get a feel for the energy of your spirits or deities is going to be to have them come to you and put their energy on your back or hands or whatever you feel is right for you. What does the energy feel like? Do you get any images from it? What color do they feel like? Hot or cold? What makes their energy different from others? In my practice, Bast feels like red velvet. Hades feels cold but fatherly. Rhiannon feels like the color yellow and pale flowers, Medusa feels like staring up at the sun through a lemon tree. See how the energy of the deities feels to you. It may be different for everyone.
Signs of Energy Change
When you do spiritual work, such as drawing a sigil, invocations, evocations, cleansing, working with particular elements inside anad outside the body, there is energy moving around and working. The energy sometimes may not be working how the magus would perceive it to be but there are signs that take place around the magus and within the magus.
For example, working with the fire element, inside or outside, could cause feelings of warming up, you might feel it in your lower body or your chest, becoming much hotter and almost sweating.
Working with the water element would cause feelings of coolness and coldness or sometimes like you're in a pool.
If you're working with spirits, you might feel a pressure or a change in a particular spot. Maybe one spot becomes colder or warmer, maybe one spot feels like there's electricity.
if you're doing works where you're invoking, you may feel things internally. Pressures in the head, the chest, the arms, feelings of heat or coldness, the weird vibration feeling where your body feels like TV static, you might also feel like you're moving away from your body and someone else is there.
A few other signs that I've experienced are things like - after a cleansing, it feels like the air in a hospital - that clear, clean air.
Workings with sigils, the sigil may feel more electric when you hold it, when you hold your hand over it, you might also feel vibration, warmth, or magnetism.
When you're projecting energy out of your hands or when there is an increased energy flow, some people have dilated blood vessels which show through the skin, or their hands start to have more red blotches as energy and heat cause the capillaries to start to dilate. Alternative things include feelings of immense heat, vibration or electricity in the hands.
During healing rituals, you might experience warmth or buzzing in the area of note. If it is a ritual relating towards emotion, there may be a slight period of stillness ad peace or sometimes it will induce a cathartic release.
You might also feel, depending on the nature of the ritual, a pressure or heat in the third eye area, or in the chest. Your hairs may also stand up on end.
If you worked too much with your own energy, after the ritual - you may experience more hunger, fatigue, sometimes it will come with a period of emotional and spiritual burnout.
If you did an invocation, you might experience a euphoric headframe as well as a feelig of rejuventation and revitalization.
in the removal of hexes or in cleansings, I have noticed that some people do more purging activities such as more peering, more shitting, more sneezing, yawning, drinking more water or sometimes even vomiting.
Spirits of a more sexual nature may induce feelings of lust or cause erections and arousals upon their entering of the space.
Working with death energy may induce things such as fatigue or sometimes health issues but as you work more alongside it, it becomes easier to process and refine it.
Checklist for potent spellwork
Here is a list to use as a reference when creating a spell for yourself or when appraising a spell guide. All points that are absolutely necessary for spellwork will be colored blue and all points labeled red are big red flags if missing from a spell guide.
Concepts
Intent; a truth that is held by the caster, not desire.
Passion: a related emotional state that is channeled and felt during casting.
Gnosis: a singular point of unbroken focus, which becomes mores specific the more details it includes. Includes having enough presence to build up and channel all energies and emotions required.
Target: A specific target, not a broad generalization or area of effect that is too large to be conceptualized.
Means of actualization: a realisitc and probable path for the spell to follow in order to cause the desired outcome.
Path of least resistance: the combination of the target and means of actualization that, in combination, are the most efficient options.
Circumstance: the moment in time in which the spell is cast was chosen carefully with the path of least resistance in mind.
Theory: the underlaying properties of the magic employed do not attempt to break known physical laws, use defunct concepts such as the law of attraction, or rely too heavily on personal narratives.
Practice
Energy work: the energy work is clear, conscious, and is in no way reliant on visualization.
Nodes: all correspondences are unique and accurately relate to the purpose, target, and means of actualization of the spell.
Spirits: spirits involved (if any) have ample reason or purpose to act in concordance with or in aid of the spell.
Culture: the spell and it’s components do not involve aspects of traditions to which the caster has no claim and no thorough contextual understanding up.
Experimentation: the concepts, practices, and other aspects of the (final) spell have been tested thoroughly enough to determine how to best apply them.
Physicality: the use of tools, Sigils, incantations, etc do not interfere with or break the state of gnosis required for casting.
To be fair, very few spell guides include any of the following. However, I think it’d be prudent for the community to start doing so.
Recording
Logs: an accurate and detail log is taken about the working.
Guide: (applicable only to guides) the language used adequately relays all necessary information to reproduce the spell to some degree of precision.
Language: the language used accurately and precisely represents the concepts and practices that take place during the spell.
Verification
Perspective: the inclusion of possible mundane explanations for the outcome, such as (but not limited to) placebo, statistical inevitablity, and/or mental illness.
Divination: readings are done about the working as objectively as possible, from third party diviners without spoiling details of able.
Bias: all possible biases are noted and considered when reflecting on the outcome.
Witness: the testimony of all witnesses to the results include the weight of their personal biases in relation to the caster.
Energy Work Masterpost
Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am a stickler for energy work. In my personal experience, energy work is the single most important thing that a witch can practice. It brings so much to the table, both in practical everyday matters and in witchy stuff! Here is my complete masterpost of all of the posts from my energy work series:
Part 1: Grounding
Part 2: Centering
Part 3: Shielding
Part 4: The energy ball and programming energy
Part 5: Sending energy to objects
Part 6: Sending energy to people

What is energy?
Energy is the medium that carries the intent for spell work. It is utilized in every spell any practitioner has ever done or will do. I postulate that “Energy” is the equivalent of the multidimensional field of virtual particles (See quantum field). This is to say that energy is the smallest permeable fabric in which the most minute manipulations can take place. However, energy, when worked with consciously and knowingly, can create waves of effects over great distance. A butterfly effect starting with the observation and projection of a singular intent.
What is energy work?
Energy work is the manipulation of energy through use of the subtle body and the psychic mind. By “Psychic mind” I refer mostly to one’s energetic awareness: A practitioner’s ability to know where energy is in space and time, what its properties are, its trajectory & velocity, and its form. With this awareness, a practitioner can use their subtle body to manipulate energies that exist around them and within them. Energy work has significantly more to it than practices like Reiki, and other appropriative New Age practices, will lead you to think.
Why is energy work important?
Energy work is absolutely crucial to all spell work and any sentiment against that grain will hinder your craft. Every magical action you do has an energetic interaction. Without consciously practicing energy work, the energetic process behind it will be reactive instead of proactive. This allows your subconscious to have influence over the spell, which rapidly hinders the accuracy and precision of your casting. When energy work is employed purposely the conscious mind has significantly more influence, which improves the likelihood of the success of your spell.
How should energy work be practiced?
Energy work should be used intentionally in every single working you do as to have further control over the spell process. However, it should be practiced on a regular basis in order to keep up your energetic awareness. At first, energy work will be something that'll take a lot of concentration; however, after a while you’ll be able to practice it while doing tasks as well.
Important & beneficial concepts in energy work
Visualization is a helpful guide when first starting, but that’s all it should be as visualization is not doing actual energy work. If you lean too hard on visualization, you’ll stagnate as well as lose your sense of energetic awareness over time. Energetic awareness is very similar to the sense of touch. While these senses are very different from each other, touch is the closest physical analog to energetic awareness. You have to feel the energy more-so than see it. Visualization should be used to create a 3D mold of the construct you’re trying to make, and nothing more.
Getting started
When setting out to try energy work for the first time I recommend setting aside some time where you can sit in a quiet place for at least 30 minutes. For neurodivergent practitioners, it may be more beneficial to start off while out on a walk with some stimulating non-vocal music. For spoonie witches, It would probably be best to do this while laying down- just remain mindful as to avoid falling asleep.
Improving Energetic Awareness
Begin by closing your eyes and trying to reach your awareness out of your body. Energetic awareness is the same sense that you use to detect that someone is looking at you from behind. It should be less visual and more feeling. Try to trace the energies that exist in your environment.
Releasing Energy
The first step of learning energy work is to be able to release energy. Everyone releases energy from their subtle and physical bodies all the time when they are experiencing emotions. The stronger the emotions, the more energy is released. Whatever emotion is being experienced also modifies the types of energies that are released. Sit and focus on a time when you’ve felt a strong emotion and the energetic sensations that you can recall experiencing during that emotion. Then, if you’re able, try to start using that same path or application in order to start gradually releasing energy. Once you’ve got the hang of it, try to release energy from a single body part only. The goal here is to gain enough control of the release of your energy to a point where you can release energy from a tiny region of your body and be able to control the rate in which that energy is released.
Absorbing Energy
The process of absorbing energy is equal and opposite to releasing energy. The practice for this is also the same but opposite. The main difference is that it is important not to let the energies that are absorbed, are not taken into the subtle body. This is because some environments have energies that aren’t that harmonious with our bodily energies. Be sure to use your practice in releasing energy to redirect what you absorb and let it back out into the environment as you proceed.
Giving Energy Form
This is the point where visualization can be a helpful guide; however, if you lean too hard on it you will likely not be practicing energy work to the extent that would be required to master this step. Visualization can be used as a mental mould for the energy work. Visualizing the energy itself will not yield any progress. Hold the mould in your mind as you use the digits on your right hand to project controlled streams of energy into it. If any energy starts to escape the mould, pull it into your left hand or use the pulling motion to get it back into the shape. This will slowly help you develop the ability to control energies outside of your subtle body but within your fields. Once you can create a basic shape, try to solidify it in space before moving it around. Do so without adding or subtracting the amount of energy that makes it up. You know that you’ve mastered this when you can create a simple construct of any platonic shape, as well as a sphere, and move it around through space with axial rotation without the shape changing size or the amount of energy changing within it- all while maintaining the construct’s integrity.

Elly’s Energy Weapon Workshop
I’m doing an energy work competition on a server I’m currently on (The Salem Coven), so this is a guide to how to create energy weapons for everyone who needs a hand.
1. Creating The Shape
The shape of the energy weapon is the basis of how your weapon is going to be used. If you make a revolver, it’s going to work like a revolver. If you make a staff, you’re going to need to hit the target with it, because it’ll act like a staff.
I usually find it easiest to draw the energy I want from music, I’ll add a small list of the songs I use to create weapons at the bottom. The shape isn’t the most important aspect but it’s pretty high up there in terms of the creation of the weapon. Forming the weapon is mainly about visualisation, feeling the energy and shaping it into what you want.
The shape doesn’t have to be a weapon, for example if something has offensive capabilities but is shaped as, say, a bracelet. That’s still a working weapon.

2. Elemental Programming
Elements are the main method for giving energy weapons their powers, there are a lot of elements out there and as a result, a lot of different powers you can give to your weapons. Anything from using spirit to cut off energy, to using wood to mess with the enemy’s emotions. Light for cleansing, shadow for mesmerising. Elements are one of the most amazing and multipurpose tools in an energy worker’s arsenal.
It’s best to use elements you know you can work with, like for example air and chaos are elements that I can use easily, so I tend to use them in a lot of constructs and weapons.
To imbue an energy weapon with an element, first you need to summon the element, which can be done a variety of different ways but as per usual, there is no exact right way to do it. Do it however works best, I do it by imagining the things I associate with it to find it then pull the element to me.
After it’s been summoned, then you need to wrap the element around, or push the element into the weapon base. Then comes the most interesting bit, you need to program the element. Imagine that the elements are lines waiting for code, and you can telepathically give the element the lines of code that are needed to finish the energy weapon.
After you’ve finished putting as many mixes of elements and their code onto the base. You’re done! The energy weapon has been successfully created.

Elly’s Energy Readings
This is a lesson write-up on my method of doing energy readings, along with issues I’ve run into over time, and a little on how to interpret energy readings once you start them.
1. Starting The Reading
So, for starters my method requires bilocation. So that’s a quick heads up otherwise most of the rest of this will make no darn sense.
First, bilocate to the target, then this is a strange thing to say but it works for me and for my students oddly enough so at least have a little laugh at this methodology. It is pretty funny.
The next steps are to run headlong are the target, when you feel resistance from their energy you need to try and break the tension in front of you like punching through glass. Then jump down into the gap in the energy left behind, that’ll take you to what I call the Energy Environment.

2. The Energy Environment
This next bit is where interpretation comes in, for me when I arrive I’ll see my surroundings as a desert, or a city. Something that really is a location, but others may see a short video or simply objects in space. Interpretation works mainly by interpreting metaphors or the emotional energy attached to the surroundings. Sometimes it’ll be obvious, sometimes it’ll take interpretation.
What you see doesn’t need to be something that the person you’re reading will understand. In fact, usually it’ll be something created so that you, the reader understand, this is because your brain is trying to interpret stuff you’re sensing about the person. For example, if you see something that reminds you of a specific memory you have, then that’s a part of the reading, as your mind is trying to make you think of something associated to that.
The energy environment is a land of metaphors and emotions, interpreting these the right way is the hardest part of the energy reading. Sometimes it’s good to ask for input from the person you’re reading, as they may have something going on in their lives which makes things clearer.

3. Parasites
So, an energy reading by this method is usually a good way of checking for parasites. A parasite is an entity that latches onto someone (usually a witch’s) energy and feeding off of it. I use an energy construct to check for and track down parasites, it’s shaped like a bell and ringing it causes parasites to be outlined in a certain colour (of course an outline may not work for some energy readers, given that you may have a different reading style.)
If you find a parasite, it’s best to inform the person you’re doing a reading on before removing it. Sometimes, and I have no idea why (I’m guessing most of the readers don’t either), people want to keep their parasites. Which is potentially dangerous but it is best not to remove the parasites in that case, if only because it’s what they want.
If they give you the go-ahead for parasite removal, my method for parasite removal is to grab the parasite, summon fire, and burn them. It works well to get rid of any trace of them. After that if the energy is looking really bad, then it’s best to get an energy healer to look them over afterwards, that is, if you yourself aren’t an energy healer.

4. Dangerous Energy Environments
Here are the three types of dangerous energy environments I’ve run into:
1. The Parasite Overload The parasite overload is what happens usually when someone allows too many parasites or demons into their energy. Once this occurs it’s unlikely they’ll allow you to get rid of the parasites in question. It’s best to get out of this energy environment quickly and to always be armed.
2. Opposing Energy Sometimes people’s energy just don’t match with yours, and that can cause an energy reading to become dangerous. It’s best to leave these and get someone else to do a reading, they aren’t dangerous in the same way as the parasite overload but they’re even more dangerous to the individual doing the reading.
3. Dangerous Read-ee This is the worst one to come across, if the person you’re reading is unkind or manipulative then the chances are you’ll get hurt trying to make the reading. You usually can’t see this danger coming, and it’s extremely rare to come across, the best thing you can do if you notice that kind of behaviour is to leave. If you feel like you’re getting hurt, leave. Then always get checked over by an energy healer.

Element Study 1: Air and Art
Each week I’ll be putting up a study of two elements, a natural one like air, and an abstract one like art. These are what I discussed just this morning with my delightful students! So I hope you like them.
1. Air
Air has many different uses, and I personally use it in almost everything I make. This element is one of the ones I’m most attuned to, so I do tend to favour it over other elements. Hence why I’m starting with it.
Air is an element related to communication, curiosity, freedom, and intelligence. In weapons, air can be used in ranged weapons to give projectiles perfect aim, in melee weapons to give them lightness and ease of movement, and in both of these types of weapons to boost the user. It’s also possible to use air to fly, but it takes a high level of practice to learn how.
When it comes to assistance, air is extremely helpful. It can be used to assist focus (curiosity and intelligence), break you out of a panic (freedom and breathing), track certain objects (curiosity), and deliver excellent public speaking or debate (communication).

2. Art
Art is an interesting abstract concept, and while we were exploring it we figured out its main uses were extremely similar to air. Communication, curiosity, freedom, and intelligence were very high up there.
Although, when we played around with it a little more, the art element enhanced any emotional energy we tried using. Any kind of sadness ball became strong enough to make sensitives cry upon opening them, putting art up there with water in terms of emotional strength. Although I’d argue its enhancing effects are stronger than water can produce.
Some students pointed out that art can be used in weaponry as a martial arts enhancer, because martial arts is, in fact, an art form. I’m inclined to agree with them and as such I’m including it here.

What Is Magic
Now, I haven’t made a What Is Magic post yet, and I always like discussing the philosophical background of this kind of thing. So I’m making one now, but I’m going to say something important. This is how I see magic, so it may be very different from other people.
1. The Basic Concepts
I have ideas about how magic works, and although they may not line up with other people’s, I think it’s important I put them to paper. Sometimes seeing theory like this can help people understand magic better or assist in their paths or craft.
In the end I believe magic can be thought of as a combination of the workings of four different things: Will, intent, energy, and sympathy.
These four aspects of magic put together form the basis of most magic I know of, in a way even talking to spirits could be seen as having all of these components to them. I’ll be describing each part of it in this post.

2. Will
Will is the base component all of magic, nothing works if you don’t have the will to make it work. Some things take a little will, some things take a lot of will, some things will take less and less will to make it work. For example bilocation becomes a simple matter when you’ve done it enough, and drawing elements becomes easier and easier over time.
In a ritual it’d be the power you imbue each component with, and in energy work it’d be the force with which you pull the energy you need to you.
So in my opinion, will is the force behind any form of magic. It’s the magic inside you, the drive that keeps curiosity on track, the drive that brought you to magic to start with, and it’s in more parts of your life than just magic.
Will pushes power into what you’re doing, it’s the electricity which gives life to a carefully programmed machine.

3. Intent
Intent is the shape you give to magic, in a ritual it’d be the words you say to give the ritual meaning, in knot magic it’s what you ask the knots to do, it’d be energy work it’d be the codes you give to elements and emotions when making constructs, and the meaning behind every oracle or tarot card.
Intent works best when the intent and the element or sigil line up, which involves the sympathy component of magic, so I’ll cover how they interact later on in this post.
Intent is probably the most important part of any magic, without intent a sigil is just a drawing, a knot is just a knot, and a bone is just a bone. The will would be there, but without intent there’s nothing to direct it, it’s like trying to make tea without any ingredients. All you’d have is a cup of hot water.
Intent creates the path through which willpower can flow, giving shape and purpose to what you’re creating.

4. Energy
Energy is something I count as different to willpower, mainly because although it can be seen to work in a similar way, it has even more uses and works on a slightly different plane.
Energy is the force which moves your magic and allows your magic to continue running. If you’ve cursed someone or performed a binding on someone, energy continues the effect after you’ve completed the spell. Energy is what’s around you at all times, you can be a natural producer of some elements of energy, like I produce chaos and air, making them easiest to call on for me.
If you’re performing a ritual using resources, there’s a chance you’ve used things charged with or made to represent different energies. Such as moon water, crystals, herbs, you get the idea.
Energy continues the effects of magic after you’ve completed the initial work, and sometimes assists in creating or affecting the world around you.

5. Sympathy
I call this component sympathy, because that’s the basis of the word for sympathetic magic. The idea of sympathetic magic is that the energy of something can be mirrored by something else, for example a voodoo poppet is sympathetic magic, because it’s mirroring the energy of a person so that they can be affected by the witch using it.
Sympathy is the shape of a sigil, the crystals corresponding to different elements in a ritual, the physical form of the tarot card, and the taglock you use when trying to help another witch. Sympathy works together with every single other aspect of magic. It’s the method by which people can move energy vast distances, and it’s the visualisation used in bilocation. It’s the most abstract concept I’ve ever theorised in magic, and it’s what I spend a lot of time trying to isolate and work with.
Sympathy is the translator of magic, the connection between everything. It works to allow you to interpret as well as, in a way, speak the art form known as magic.

6. Working Together
Will and Intent These two work in unison and are often hard to seperate, when you put your will into magic, using intent at the same time is natural. If I wanted to bind someone then I’d put the will to bind in with the intent, I don’t really know how to do it any other way.
Will and Energy These components work together by being the driving force that keeps magic going. Will causes the magic to work during the initial actions, energy takes it on after the initial setup is done. Take a ritual, you use willpower during the ritual but afterwards the energy takes it over.
Intent and Energy Energy in some ways can be used to shape intent, for example in energy work you often use certain elements with certain intents because those elements already have a similar intent. Chaos will want to cause chaos, air will want freedom, earth will want to be grounded. Intent and energy work hand in hand to shape the world around you.
Sympathy Sympathy works with practically every component of magic. There’s sympathy working together with energy when you use objects to correspond to elements. Sympathy working with intent when you use music. Sympathy working with willpower when you fortify yourself with tea and emotional strength.

Energy Balms and Bandages
Holy Wowsers.
There are a LOT of you guys now. What Is Magic took off beyond my wildest dreams, in fact I thought it was going to be my least popular post. Instead we’re only a little less than 24 hours in and already over 150 notes! By the time I post this we’ll probably hit over 175 and I will die of Positive-Reinforcement-Overload.
This morning, before I logged on to see a sea of amazing people coming and reading my posts, I did a lesson on Energy Healing. Specifically in relation to creating balms and bandages, knowing what to use for each situation, and how to triage them! Without further ado, the lesson!
1. Balm Types
I call it energy balm because that’s sorta what I make it as, it feels like a balm to my hands when I use it. Before I show you all how to make the balm, I thought I’d tell you a little about the types I combine when I make it.
I use 6 colours to represent the types of energy for mixing the balm, and 1 colour to make the bandages afterwards. The energy types are: Burning (Burns out bad energy) Protection (Protects the wound) Cleansing (To cleanse the energy of the area without burning) Healing (Heals the wound) Soothing (Astral painkillers/aloe vera) and Restoring (Sets the patient’s energy to rebuild itself).
Between these six colours you can pretty much mix together a balm for almost any problem, and I’ll be talking about a few mixes I use later.

2. Making The Balm Pt 1 (Colours)
I always get people to make the balm by first taking white light energy, then splitting it into the traditional colours of the rainbow. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet.
The reason that I use this system is because it lets me use six of them for the six types of energy I want to use, then the remaining one I can use for bandages. It all depends on what you associate the colours with or what colours you want to use! One of my students used a blue-green spectrum instead of a rainbow, and then related the energies to that. I’ll put my system below as a quick guide on how you can relate colours and energies.
Red: Burning, I associate red with burning so I just picked that. Orange: Protection, I don’t know why but I always think of magic shields as orange. Yellow: Cleansing, it’s a very pale yellow which I normally use for cleansing myself. Green: Healing, it’s just a heal-y colour. Very life related. Blue: Soothing, blue is always a mentally soothing colour to me. Indigo: I use it for bandages. Purple: Restoration, again, no idea, but it always felt like the right colour for it.
As you can see, I use emotional associations, but I don’t really know where all of it came from. So do what works for you, it’s all about giving intent the easiest path.

3. Making The Balm Pt 2 (Mixing And Changing)
To make a balm, start by picking out which energy types you need. Then, I get the colour spectrum my splitting an energy orb of white light into the colours of the rainbow in the spectrum. Then, pick the colours which you associate them with. Make sure to keep them as energy and not a balm consistency for the next bit.
Take the colours one at a time, we’ll start with how to do the first two: Pick the colour orb and use your intent to encode the command into the energy, a lot like when you’re making energy constructs. Then get the next colour you need and do the same thing, now you have to mix them together. Merge the orbs but make sure they stay different colours, a mottled, spiralled, or striped effect will work best for this. Then take the other required colours and mix them in!
The energy ball you have now should include everything you need! But it’s still not a balm, so you have to change it into one. I change them into a balm by visualising the energy slowing until it’s a balm-like consistency. That tends to work.
Now you have an energy balm! To apply it to people simply use some bilocation to put it on their wounds.

4. Bandages and Triage
To make bandages, start by taking the leftover colour of the rainbow, or by taking any colour you associate with bandaids, and start spinning and stretching it out into a long piece of cloth. After that, you should have some bandages to put on someone if needed.
I have a triage list when it comes to a group of injured witches. Mainly because I act as an emergency astral first aid and protection contact. It goes like this:
1. Unknown Unidentified Pain 2. Parasites 3. Extremely Bad Cuts 4. Cuts and Scrapes 5. Burns 6. Broken Bones.
The first one can be treated by looking for reasons behind the pain as quickly as you can. It’s best to deal with this early, it could be anything from void energy, to a curse, to a continued attack from an entity. Parasites can be removed, burned, and then assisted with the Burning energy to make sure you have everything related to them out.

5. Some Quick Recipe Mixes
It is always best to make the mixture on the spot rather than keeping it. But here are a few recipes to remember.
Burns: Cleansing Healing Soothing Restoring
Parasite Care: Burning Protection Soothing Restoring
Cut and Stab Wounds: Cleansing Healing Soothing
Happy energy healing everyone! I hope it’s fun.
