Day 24 - Free Day 4 (Procrastination)
Sequel to my last free day fic, Erenville and Kaida get sushi.
25 - Call It A Day
Kaida delivers a parcel to Aymeric and maybe jailbreaks him.

26 - Last
After a bad visit home Kaida's cheered up by the combo of Lyse, Hien, Alphinaud, and Alisaie. Shenanigans!

27 - Sole
Kaida goes to visit Leofard and he decides it is time for shenanigans. She's unfortunately better at hide and seek than tag. Post-EW somewhere but no real spoilers or timeline! just shenanigans!
28 - Blunt
The one with Y'shtola in it. She and Kaida talk after realizing they may have matching wounds. HW spoiler sorta is it really spoilers anymore idk
29 - contravention Post a certain event, Kaida and some friends sit at Camp Dragonhead feeling anything but normal. Normalcy is something her friends excel in. Ft multiple WoLs!

Between saving more worlds, fighting gods, and running around helping anyone who needed it, Krile's summons for coffee felt like a reprieve. Post-EW, some actual spoilers.

Skystone Co. : A brand new Mateus FC
- A medium rp-fc on mateus / crystal dc. Officially open and recruiting both IC crew and OoC / regulars type alts. - Discord available. CWLS available.
Skystone Co. dabbles in shipping, travel and trade. The airship is small but goes just about anywhere for business. The Skystone, as an airship, provides a mobile home for the crew, and an easily accessible reoccurring rp location for those just passing through.
With members and rank, Skystone will aim to obtain an FC plot, vs it's current private plot, and expand both in airship and in rp. It aims to be a small FC with no more than ten to fifteen members, but will remain alt friendly in terms of a multitude of characters.
It's new and there isn't a whole lot going on just yet but come October things will begin to pick up with rp. In the meantime it'd be great to meet any new members, hangout in discord and work on some casual pve content such as job leveling or daily roulettes. Things like PotD / HoH clears, and helping one another grind out things like the Rathalos mount, will be regular available content for the crew oocly. There are no plans for IC events at this time but the hope is that with casual rp around the airship, and the crew getting a feel for one another, small events may become available in the future for things such as obtaining rare artifacts, transporting goods in new lands, air combat with other sky pirates, and more. Skystone Co. is a morally grey fc and flexible with allowing characters from a wide variety of alignments. There are plans for occasional in-game rp, as well as discord channels for more flexible rp, but priority will be given to members who can join the fc on Mateus as we need to work together to level it and expand down the line. Skystone Co. is 100% grown folks friendly in that there are no heavy activity requirements or expectations. People have lives. Rpers 30+, 40+, 50+ and so on are absolutely welcomed. LGBTQIA+ friendly as well.

Saint Coinach: Proving the Myth of Allag
The Raven - Dalamud Nigh: “’The future is but a reflection of the past’—so wrote Saint Coinach, who dedicated his life to excavating the ruins of the ancient Allagan Empire that the wisdom of ages past might be recovered.”
Encyclopedia Eorzea - Saint Coinach’s Find: “Nearly six centuries ago, a determined young man in Ul’dah by the name of Coinach would stumble upon what would prove to be the greatest discovery of the Sixth Astral Era - relics of the great Allagan Empire.
An Order of Nald’thal seminarian, Coinach was immensely clever, consistently receiving the highest marks amongst his peers. The Order had high hopes for the young prodigy and envisioned him a future leader in the church. These hopes crumbled to dust when Coinach became infatuated with stories of a long-lost empire briefly mentioned in holy scripture - Allag. Despite being less than a year from graduation, he abruptly abandoned his studies and began a fevered pursuit of knowledge on a subject most in the Order regarded at best as allegory. Turning a deaf ear to the pleas of his professors, Coinach was expelled from the seminary and eventually ostracized by his closest companions.This, however, only fueled the young man’s passion to prove his detractors wrong.
To fund his obsession, Coinach became a merchant - every coin earned put into the acquisition of ancient tomes and the overseeing of exploratory digs in remote locations across the realm. It was not until the year before he passed away - over five decades after his search began - that Coinach finally found what he was looking for in a sparsely populated corner of Mor Dhona. Once a laughingstock in academic circles, Coinach was now a hero. Universities begged him to join their staff, while sponsors from across Eorzea showered him with coin to finance future excavations. Further vindication was achieved after his death when he was canonized, not by the order which forsook him, but by the followers of Thaliak, the Scholar. Coinach’s name lives on to this day in the Sons of Saint Coinach - an organization dedicated to the continuation of the eponymous archaeologist’s work.”

This has been a massive undertaking that I have put off for a really long time. There’s just so much information woven throughout the world that ties back to Allag. Even after dedicating most of a week’s free time to researching, transcribing, and compiling everything below, I’m still not sure I’ve found everything about Allag that’s out there.
The scope of Allag’s influence across Hydaelyn, even today is incredible. From religion to modern technology taken from the ancients, to fashion and economy, or to entire races, cultures, even ecosystems which owe their creation (or inspiration) to Allag. There’s no way to fully encompass that in one post, but I tried.

Teleportation magic in FFXIV is actually the craziest thing
like, it's established so early on you don't have to think about it, and I expect the writers also didn't think too hard about it when they were first putting together the worldbuilding. but we teleport through the Lifestream. we dip in and out of the afterlife every time we go anywhere long-distance. and this is such a normal part of everyday life that major settlements basically all have giant crystals in the middle that are meant to facilitate this kind of travel.
and to be absolutely fair, in a world where the afterlife really was a place underground, we totally would build a subway system through it and put Hades in charge. it's not like it doesn't make sense, it's just. wild.
