Had to add another one to Jack's category that I forgot
- "Don't"
Reasons why I hate each of the main 5 Torchwood members (these are the entire list of reasons unless I specifically say otherwise):
Gwen
- cheating on Rhys then retconning him to forgive her for it
- the speech at the end of the episode Meat
Jack
- making Ianto feel insecure about where he stands in their relationship (yeah ik why but he should have told Ianto that)
- trying to force Ianto at gunpoint to execute what was left of Lisa
- not bothering to check on Ianto after the cannibals
- the way he dealt with Mary then didn't comfort Tosh
Tosh:
- the comment in the episode Meat about feeding the world, disregarding the amount of pain that the creature was in
Owen:
- his sadistic enjoyment of trying to make Gwen and Rhys' relationship fall apart
- the stuff he said to Ianto in the episode Captain Jack Harkness
- the way he completely disregards Tosh and her feelings for him, they were obvious and Owen is smart enough to not be blind
- kicking Ianto when he'd already won the fight in the episode Captain Jack Harkness
- his general treatment of Ianto and Tosh
Ianto:
- literally nothing, everything he did that was morally grey/wrong was at least mostly justified
Can you tell my ranking of characters? I'm not sure if my no.1 is obvious at all, most definitely not clear, such a mystery.

For the good of Camelot.
Arthur x reader/Gwaine x reader/Arthur x Guinevere / platonic Merlin x reader
You and Arthur are told you are to be wed by the end of the month the only problem is your respective lovers Gwaine and Guinevere.

Anybody else still obsessed with a show that ended in 2012 no just me? Okay. anyways the is a BBC Merlin fic because there is simply not enough of it out there

âYou canât do this father!â Arthur exclaimed hands slamming on the table as he stood from his seat.
âI am your father and the king of Camelot I can do as I wish!â Uther yelled back standing from his seat as well âAnd you and y/n are to be wed for the good of the kingdom and its people if you are to be king one day you must realize that you have to make sacrifices you are no longer a child you are a man and I expect you to act as such!â
Arthur opened his mouth but quickly shut it when his father brought his hand up telling Arthur to silence.
Uther turned his head to you âAnd what say you of this arrangement?â
You sucked in a sharp breath as much as you wanted to speak out you were not in such a position as Arthur to speak out against the king so swallowing the lump in your throat thickly âI will do as you wish sireâ you replied as a silent tear fell down your cheek.
Arthur scoffed not at you but at his father and what he was proposing âFath-â Arthur started.
âSilence I will have no more debate about this matter!â Uther shouted âI will begin making preparations with y/nâs father tomorrowâ he stated walking out of the room.
As soon as Uther left the room Arthurâs shoulders slumped âWay to have my back thereâ Arthur scolded you as if you were a child.
âYou think I want this? I do not have the luxury of speaking against the King Arthurâ you snap back storming out of the room to your chambers.
âY/Nâ you heard him sigh as you exited you ignored him.
You had been staying in Camelot as a guest for about a year you canât help but think that this had been your father's plan this whole time. You and Arthur had met in your childhoods and had always been close though not in the way your fathers wanted it would seem.
âY/N?â you heard a knock and Arthurâs voice pulling you from your thoughts.
âCome inâ
âIâm sorry about earlier,â Arthur told you eyes turned towards the floor âI know you can not speak against my father and it was wrong of me to be upset with youâ
âItâs okay Arthurâ you replied patting the spot on your bed beside you.
âSo we are to be wedâ he sighed taking the spot on the bed.
âIt would seem soâ you chuckled dryly. âWhat are we going to tell Gwaine and Gwen?â You asked softly.
âI will get us out of the Y/N I swear it,â Arthur told you.
âAnd if you canât?â You questioned as the tears you were holding back began to fall
âThen I also swear this to youâ Arthur started moving to kneel in front of you grabbing your hands gently as his eyes found yours âIf I can not get us out of this and we are to be wed I will make you comfortable all the days of my life and I will do everything in my power to make you happy I canât make you love me but I will love you I swear itâ Arthur finished eyes never leaving yours.
He brought a hand to your cheek gently wiping the tears from your eyes and offering you a small smile before standing and leaving your room.

You were awakened by a knock on your door you had fallen asleep in your clothes crying.
âCome inâ you replied rubbing the sleep from your eyes as Merlin entered your chambers.
âArthur told me what happened last night heâs gone to try and reason with the king he sent me to check on you I figured youâd be hungryâ Merlin fumbled as he sat the plate on the table making himself busy.
âThank you Merlin youâve always been kind to meâ you offered him a small smile as you sat.
âOf course, youâre my friendâ Merlin shrugged.
âAnd you are mine please sit I couldnât possibly eat all this by myselfâ You gestured for him to take the seat beside you.
The two of you ate in silence for a minute before Merlin broke it âHow are you doing?â He asked.
âAs well as I can beâ you paused taking a deep breath âI only hope Arthur can get us out of itâ You sighed as if summoned Arthur burst into the room.
âMy Father wonât listen to reason he says we will be wed within the monthâ Arthur paced the room.
You bit back the tears refusing to cry again.
âWe must tell Guinevere and Gwaine before it is announced they should hear it from us,â you told him as his pacing stopped.
âVery well,â Arthur said walking out of the room.
âGoodbye Y/N,â Merlin told you exiting to follow his master.

You and Arthur had decided to tell them together thinking that it might be nice to have the support so Merlin arranged for you all to meet at Gwenâs house Arthur had practically begged Merlin to come with you making an excuse about how a prince needs his servant at all time but you knew he just wanted him there Merlin was after all his closest friend.
When you arrived Gwen and Gwaine were sitting at her table they had been talking as you entered but quickly stopped when they saw you.
âDarling, are you alright?â Gwaine rushed towards you checking for any injuries or something that could be physically wrong with you sighed in relief when he saw nothing pulling you In for a hug âMerlin said it was urgentâ When you didnât respond he pulled away eyes widening when he saw the tears falling down your face âY/N?â He questioned grabbing your face in his hands.
âGwaine I think you should sit downâ Arthur spoke as he pulled a seat out for Gwen.
âWhat did you do to her Arthur?â Gwaine asked moving towards the prince.
âGwaine please sit,â you said grabbing his arm before he could do anything. He looked back at you before hesitantly taking a seat as you went to stand by Arthur.
âThereâs no easy way to say this so Iâll just come out with it our fathers have arranged for us to be married,â Arthur said letting out a breath.
âThen refuse!â Gwen yelled standing up and surprising all of you with the outburst âIâm sorryâ Gwen apologized as she sat back down.
âDonât apologize Guinevereâ Arthur sighed
Before explaining âI tried my father is having none of it he says we are to be wed by the end of the monthâ
As Arthur was talking to Gwen Gwaine stood from the table going to leave.
âGwaineâ you called moving towards him
âI just need some time,â he said walking out you went to follow him before Merlin grabbed your arm gently.
âGive him some space,â he said gently.
Gwen and Arthur were talking in hushed tones before Gwen turned towards you.
âIâm so sorry Gwenâ was all you could manage before a sob racked your body.
âI think itâs best if you all leaveâ Guinevere whispered holding tears of her own back.
Merlin simply nodded leading you out of the house back to the palace Arther following behind.
Once Arthur and Merlin got you back to your quarters and made sure you were okay they left you.
Now you were left with your thoughts tossing and turning trying to escape them long enough to fall asleep sighing when you had no such luck.
You only found a semblance of relief when you heard a knock at your window knowing it was Gwaine's as this was a regular thing he did the relief was quickly replaced with anxiety as you walked to the window to let him in.
âMay I come inside my lady?â Gwaine as you opened the window stepping aside to let him in walking towards the bed.
âI was worried about you,â you told him in a whisper.
âI know darling Iâm sorry I just need some time to cool down itâs not every day youâre told that the woman you love is marrying one of your closest friendsâ Gwaine chuckled dryly, Trying to bring some semblance of humor to your predicament.
âWe could run away,â you said.
Gwaine sighed as he sat beside you âThe king would find us execute me and force you to marry Arthurâ
âThen what are we to do?â You asked helplessly.
âYou have to go through with it for your sake I could not bare anything happening to you because of my foolishness,â he told you arm wrapping around you as he kissed your forehead gently.
âYou have to promise me youâll move on and find happiness with someone else for I cannot bare the thought of you spending your days in misery for my sake,â you told him gabbing his face in your hands and resting his forehead on your own.
âIâm afraid I can make no such promise for a fear I am destined to love you all the days of my life,â Gwaine said tears finally making their way down his face
âAnd I you but you must tryâ you started biting back tears of your own âFor me pleaseâ you finished.
âI will try for youâ Gwaine finally agreed.
You sat like that for a while foreheads rested against one anotherâs as silent tears fell down your cheeks.
You donât remember who made the motion to lay down only that you had fallen asleep holding each other for perhaps the last time.
You awoke to a thumb gently stroking your cheek Gwaine's soft scratchy morning voice filling your eyes âWake up darling Iâm afraid I must goâ he kissed your forehead lingering for a moment before pulling away eyes finding your tired ones before he looked away leaving the bed.
You got up to follow him to the window opening it for him hesitantly as he slipped his boots on.
He kissed your forehead once more before he began climbing out of the window.
âGwaine,â you said making him pause his movements to look back at you as soon as he did you pulled him in for a kiss.
A kiss you hoped would convey your affection and feelings for him tell him how much you loved him and how much he meant to you and as he kissed back you felt him saying all those things too.
âGoodbye Y/Nâ Gwaine whispered as he pulled away.
âGoodbye Gwaineâ you offered the biggest smile you could muster he simply nodded eyes lingering on you before he turned and made his way out of the window.
It was your understanding that Gwen and Arthur had had a night much like yours a last calm together before the storm Arthur never asked you about your night nor you his. It was something only you lovers would know and you both intended it to stay that way.

After a long month, the time for the ceremony had come. Your father and mother had traveled from their kingdom for this.
âYou look beautiful my love,â your mother told you as the maid finished getting you ready it was the first time sheâd seen you in your dress âPlease leave us Iâd like a moment alone with my daughter,â she asked the maids noticing your discomfort.
âI am sorry you were born into this my darlingâ she spoke once the maids had left âItâs not fair and I wish it could be different but I am so proud of you and the woman youâve become and I know you will make an excellent queen one dayâ she finished kissing your forehead.
âI love you, Mother,â you told her hugging her tightly a few stray tears falling.
âOh come now you shouldnât cry on your wedding day Iâll give you a moment to yourself,â she told you leaving one last kiss on your cheek before exiting.
There was a gentle knock on your door as Merlin peaked his head in the room âI was told to come to fetch you the ceremony is about to startâ he said stepping inside and offering you a hand âI know it doesnât help but you look beautiful my ladyâ Merlin said as you walked down the hall towards you father waiting at the door.
âThank you Merlin you are a good friend to me and Arthur,â you told him kissing his cheek softly as you made it to your father his cheeks burned bright red at the gesture bright smile never left his face.
And with that, you took your father's arm walking through the door towards your soon-to-be husband.
Arthur could not lie his breath hitched when he saw you you looked absolutely breathtaking.
As you made it to the alter your father let you go shaking Arthurâs hand with a whisper to take care of you before joining your mother and Uther on the front row.
âYou look beautiful,â Arthur told you kissing your cheek and offering a head to help you up the altar.
âYou look handsome as wellâ you smiled. Before the officiant cleared his throat starting the ceremony.
You blacked out at that moment your brain only coming back in to focus as the officiant asked Arthur if he took you to be his wife âI doâ Arthur answered eyes never leaving yours as the man asked you the same âI doâ You said trying to show as much confidence and bravery as Arthur had and has throughout this whole thing.
âBy the power vested in me by God and the church of Camelot, I now pronounce you husband and wife Prince Arthur you may kiss you brideâ As the man finished speaking Arthur took your face in his hands gently as if you would break were he to rough and pulled you in for a kiss.
The kiss was soft and surprisingly sweet it
it was a kiss that conveyed that while this may not be what either of you had planned you were still going to do everything in your power to make the other happy.
As quickly as it had come this kiss was over as you both pulled away surprisingly sad that it had ended so quickly but you both gained your composure as you turned towards the crowd hand in hand ready to face this new challenge with the other by your side.
âI give you Arthur and Y/N Pendragon prince and princess of Camelot!â

A Thought: Merlin learning how to carve wood after Balinor leaves him the little dragon carving in âThe Last Dragonlord.â
It takes a while before he can look at the tiny wooden figure without it just hurting, but after weeks and months, the ache eases into something almost bearable.
One night, heâs lying in bed with the little dragon balanced on his chest (heâs named it Charlie) and has the thought to maybe try it for himself. The first few times he tries, he canât even start because thinking of his father makes his eyes sting too much to see, but he gets past it. His first few attempts areâŠnot so good, but lucky for him, there is literally never a shortage of wood to be found in this castle, so he has plenty of supplies to try again.
The first carving he make that actually comes out mostly right is a dragon, of course. He calls it Thatcher, and it goes on his windowsill next to Charlie. Then he makes a teeny-tiny baby dragon, calls it Kite, and puts it between Thatcher and Charlie to make a family, see?
Once he gets better, he starts colouring them a little, using bits of whatever he can find to act as a stain, even nicking the occasional bit of paint. And he starts giving them to people, too.
Gaius gets a stern-faced owl, complete with little feathery eyebrows. âBecause youâre so wise, see?â Merlin gets a full dose of the Eyebrow then, but the owl goes on the mantelpiece and stays there.
The next person to get one is Gwen, a cat with a crooked tail and a little notch taken out of one ear. She almost cries when he gives it to her because she had told Merlin about her childhood pet so long ago, she hadnât thought he would ever remember. It looks just like Buttons, too. He even remembered the missing whiskers on one side.
Leon gets a lion for his nameday. Not a roaring, ferocious lion, but one that is stretched out for a nap with its head on its paws, and it even looks like itâs smiling a little, too. Thereâs little markings to suggest its mane is curly, too. âYouâve still got the better hair, though,â Merlin teases. Leon doesnât say anything, but after that, he counts Merlin as his friend, not just a companion.
When Lancelot finally returns to Camelot, he gets a gryphon, of course, exacting down to its hooked beak and tufted tail, eagle wings spread and crouched as if ready to pounce. Merlin doesnât say anything when he gives it to him, only smiles and hugs him tight. Whenever Lancelot looks at it, he remembers blue fire and murmurs, âBregdan anweald gafeluc.â
Elyan gets a hart with majestic antlers, carved from pale wood thatâs almost white, somehow stately and elegant in stillness. It makes him smile every time he sees it; no one else believes him when he tells the story of the time he saw a white hart in the Darkling Wood, always say that heâs making it up. The hart goes on a shelf next to a cat with a crooked tail and a notched ear.
Gwaineâs carving is a fox, made from reddish-brown wood, and Merlin has somehow made it look fluid even though it doesnât move, sleek and playful and mischievous and cleverer than anyone thinks. Gwaine isnât a man to get attached to material things, but he never goes anywhere without it and even tucks it in the bottom of his saddlebags when they go on patrol.
Percivalâs is the only one that has more than one piece. Itâs actually three: a bear and two cubs, made to fit together so they look like theyâre embracing. Merlin doesnât say why, but Percival understands anyways, and for the first time, he can think about his family without it hurting so much.
Arthur notices that the others have each been given these little gifts, heâs heard them talking about it whenever another one has been given, and he canât help but feel a little hurt at his lack of such a gift. Even though it bothers him, he never asks, because princes donât ask for things, and he isnât going to order Merlin to give him something when his manservant obviously makes them with such careful affection and gives them with equal thought. So he says nothing of it and lets it be, ignoring how it makes him ache.
It isnât until months, years, later that Merlin finally comes to him one night, head bowed and feet shuffling, turning something small over in his hands, and it takes him almost ten minutes before he can step forward and set it on the desk. Arthur says nothing, knowing the importance of stillness and silence, and picks it up with care.
Itâs his motherâs seal, replicated with such exacting perfection that were it not for the grain of the wood, he wouldnât be able to tell the difference between the two side-by-side. Until he turns it over, that is. Because the other side bears another seal: a triskele, like unto what the Druids mark themselves with, except this one is formed not of coiled spirals, but three snarling dragon heads.
âMy fatherâs seal, sigil of his house, my house,â Merlin says softly, so low it couldâve been imagined.
For a long time, thereâs silence in the chamber, broken only by the muffled crack and pop of the fire, the faintest sound of their breathing. Arthur sweeps his thumb over one dragon-head, tracing the sharp sweep of its horn with his thumbnail, then holds it out to Merlin. âPut this somewhere Aithusa wonât chew on it, will you?â he says softly, curling his fingers around the other manâs hand, strong and warm and familiar, smooth-carved wood pressed between their palms. âAnd come to bed.â
I know Arthur had gone after Merlin in The Moment of Truth to save Ealdor then get Merlin back to Camelot so everything can be back to normal. But we need to consider another option:
Gwen and Morgana, also fearing to lose Merlin forever, huddled in Arthur's chambers.
Morgana: Did you give him the sword?
Gwen: I did.
Arthur: He did manage to hold it upright, I hope.
Gwen: He did, but...
Morgana: Oh dear, he did not slash himself, did he?
Gwen: No, his still has every limb. But I asked him to tell me how the sword felt, and he said it was... "very swordy".
Arthur: ...
Morgana: ...
Arthur, dropping his drumstick.
Gwen: My Lord-
Morgana: It's worse than we thought.
Gwen: I know, my Lady.
Arthur: We need to go with him.
Gwen: I know, Sire
Arthur: He's going to kill himself before his friends could say hi to him.
Reunion of Albion
[This is just a short headcanon that I had about BBC Merlin. Hope it helps you somewhat forget the pain of the finale. :)]
Nearly 1500 years after the death of the Once and Future King of Camelot. There is a shift in the air. The birds of Camelot seem more cheerful than ever. Everything seems as if shifting. The sun is brighter than before and the Queen stands in her room looking out in wonder.Â
"Merlin! What is happening?" she called out. "I have no idea Gwen, but whatever it is I feel strangely happy." "You were looking for a counter spell, did you find it? It has been the same of years now." "No Gwen. Even the Great Dragon has no answers." said Merlin.Â
Neither of them had aged a day. For 1500 years they were the same as they had been on the day when.... Some strange curse had befallen Camelot. The Queen, Sire Leon, Sir Percival, Merlin and Gaius had not aged a day. Nor had a lot many people. The world around them had reached many heights but how much ever Merlin tried he could never bring that change to Camelot. How much ever he tried he couldn't reverse the curse. It was as if Camelot was stuck at one place in the loop of time. Each year Merlin would try to do something to reverse it but nothing has worked.Â
"Your Majesty! There is something happening at the Lake of Avalon." said Leon bursting inti the room. It wasn't far away so all of them set out immediately.Â
"Merlin, Gaius do you know something of this?" asked Percival. "No. This is not something I know of." replied Gaius. The Lake was shining with a bright light. The trees were swaying to an unheard tune. There was some sort of movement in the middle of the Lake.Â
Merlin stepped closer. In his heart, he knew what was happening. He had known a day would come when they would be reunited. A day when they all will return. All of them stared open mouthed. A bright light blinded them all. When they opened their eyes, it was a sight to behold.
Middle of the Lake their stood Arthur in all his might with the Excalibur glinting in his hand. Beside him stood Gwaine, strong and smiling his own sword in his hand. Elyan stood beside him, grinning from ear to ear and Lancelot, stood there smiling at his long lost friends.Â
The Once and Future King has returned and with him have returned the Knights of Camelot. They were welcomed with open arms and flowing tears. There was a banquet and a feast. There was laughter and love. Camelot had returned to its full glory. But Merlin had not shed a single tear all day. It didn't seem real to him. To him, it seemed another of his many dreams. To him, it would all end. He had seen this before it ended with Gaius waking him up but as he decided that his going to sleep would end this, Gwaine came up behind him and said, "Merlin! There you are at last! I have been looking all over the place for you. I am a bit rusty, point me to the Tavern?" "Sir Gwaine has forgotten where the tavern is !? I must be dreaming!" said Percival. Leon entered behind him laughing followed by Elyan and Lancelot. Then came Gwen and then Gaius. Last of all came Arthur. They all laughed, and Merlin stared at them, tears finally prickling his eyes.
"Merlin, you idiot! What are you staring at?!" said Arthur smiling.Â
He had them all back. He had them back and now he realized what had happened to Camelot. Albion was no other than Camelot. He was Albion and because he was awaiting the arrival of The Once and Future King with his Knights, Albion waited as well. And now the wait was over for Albion had finally been reunited.
[It's not enough to remove the pain, but I hope it's enough to give you hope that all was well after all. Hope you liked it!!]

Poll time!
While I'm finishing up my archeologist Merlin fic, I'm debating which au to post next and want your input! Au's featuring Lancelot and Gwen got the least votes last time, so I figured that I'd give them another shot here!
All of these au's will probably be posted eventually, but this will just help me decide what to write and post first. I'm excited to see what you'll choose!
Happy voting! :D
Ohhhhh, I like this!!
Merlin ensures that Arthur stays alive long enough to become king because he may be a complete prat, but he makes Gwen happy so he has to keep him in one piece for the sake of his bestie!
I'd imagine that Merlin just straight-up kills Uther in season 3, when Uther's thrown Gwen in the dungeons when he found out about her relationship with Arthur.
Uther is trying to kill Merlin's bestie and Queen? Bam, Uther's dead, and now Arthur can fulfill his true destiny as Gwen's himbo trophy husband.
Merlin AU where Merlin is told that Guinevere is the Once and Future Queen, the Savior of Albion, etc.
And he's like "yeah that checks out. She's the greatest. But how's she gonna get on the throne since she's a commoner?"
And Kilgarrah says that she's going to have to marry Arthur and he's like "Really?! That idiot? Ugh fine"
Merlin still has to save Arthur's life occasionally and he's always muttering "do it for Gwen. Just til she's on the throne. Then I can let him die. Maybe I'll kill him myself"
