studyblr intro post!
Who am I?
My name is Ellie. I’m 16 years old and will be going into my junior year of high school in September. I’m a scorpio sun with an aquarius moon and I’m an INFP. I plan to study nursing in college, specifically psychiatric. I am a native English speaker, and took two years of German classes, but decided to stop taking the class, despite still wanting to learn the language.
What am I into?
I really like finding new television shows to watch, astrology, and learning about interesting topics.
Why did I make a studyblr?
I am not very good at school. I pass by all means but I don’t always do my best. I’m unorganized, have sloppy handwriting, am lazy when it comes to small assignments, and procrastinate until the morning anything is due. I hope that by trying to make a studyblr, I will be more motivated to succeed.
What will I post?
I will mostly be reblogging helpful tips that I find, in no way passing them off as my own. I will be looking for studying tips, language learning advice, and some non-studying related tips, such as self care and playlists.
What are my goals?
1) To become motivated to succeed both school and in my social life
2)To be able to study effectively
3) To be happy with my ability to complete schoolwork

A kid once asked me a question in class and my answer was “Huh. Good one. Don’t know. I’ll check and get back to you.” The Deputy Head observing me devoted half the debrief after to this amazing occurrence, mostly in genuine shock and disbelief.
KIDS NEED TO KNOW IT’S ALL RIGHT TO NOT KNOW, and that the answer is to go look it up and find out. Whether you’re a teacher / parent / youth worker / whatever, if you interact with kids at all please, PLEASE admit that you don’t know everything. And then worry less about teaching them Stuff, and instead teach them how to learn.
one time in sixth grade i did my math homework and then because i was excited that i had grasped the lesson so well, i did the next day’s homework too
the next day in class i told my teacher, and she looked constipated for a second, and then said dismissively, “well, then you’re not very good at following directions, are you.”

Paleontology
I have a very real question for the folks of paleoblr. I'm very, very interested in going into the field of paleontology and have entered high school again as an adult student to brush up on the subjects that the course specified was crucial. I'm taking all the biology (U and C), chemistry (U and C), mathematics (functions, advanced functions) and high level English (Eng3U, Eng4U) I can. What subjects did the people of paleoblr need? What else should I learn? What's the learning environment like? Will reblog a couple of times for visibility.
pls pls pls if anybody has anything like this for bsl pls share i’ve meant to learn it for so long and i am learning (using an actually p decent app called ‘bright bsl’) but learning from a variety of sources is always best especially since there can be more than one sign for a certain word!!

今天學到的新字叫「BYOD」, 全名叫Bring your own device，查了一下後知道是歐美企業現在會有一種新的工作模式, 可以讓員工帶自己的機器到公司辦公, 通常是指手機, 現在手機在許多國家中已經是很普遍的現象, 尤其是智慧型手機愈來愈受到歡迎.
不過目前普遍遇到的問題會有 :
員工意願不高. 對啊, 我幹嘛拿我的手機或電腦來公司上班, 經常性使用會壞不是?
資訊安全. 這是企業方會顧慮的, 因為有些(大部份)公司資料都是機密性的, 若是洩露很容易讓競爭對手模仿, 若是用自己的機器來辦公, 出事的話責任歸誰?
也因為如此, 目前有看到的Solution是日本的NEC公司, 針對這些問題推出了NEC Cloud Smartphone , 看起來應該是透過APP的方式來管控. 把公司的一些系統或資料處理交由APP控制使用..
個人的感想是, 隨著Smart Phone的尺吋愈來愈大的情況下, 未來很可能我們的手機就幾乎是一台Mini iPad的大小, 那麼很有可能的是, 未來我們或許會有機會在家裡使用或更新一些公司資料, 不是透過VPN或其他Remote Control的方式, 而是透過App來處理, 拭目以待嚕.

i really hate my school and distance learning is a lot easier tbh
Okay so I don't know if anyone really needs or even wants to hear this but I thought I'd put my realization out into the world. So school and learning is fucking hard in a normal year and even harder now and that can be really disheartening. I am currently in my first year of college and I was definitely one of the "smart kids" in highschool. And while in high school I picked up this nasty little habit of every time I did something wrong be it a minor mistake like putting a negative where there's not supposed to be one or something more conceptual I would always say immediately afterwards "wow I'm so stupid." And it wasn't true but I really believed it. I thought I wasn't able to make any mistake.
It wasn't until I said that in front of a teacher after they explained a college level consepts to me again that I really had someone look me in the eyes and say "you're not stupid your learning" and ya it's kinda obvious but it never hit me till then.
So end of the vent here's some advice. That teacher corrected me every time I said that until eventually I started saying that was a stupid mistake rather than I'm so stupid. And now you're going to beat the thing that seems really stupid but it works for me anytime I make a mistake and I want to call myself for the things stupid I never play stupid with silly. It certainly gets me some looks in my chemistry class college when I say it but it makes the mistake fun and non-consequential if it's silly. And man has it improved my ability to learn.
The best way to learn, to really learn is to forgive yourself for your mistakes.
So call your mistake silly and then laugh about it and move on. What's a silly little mistake to the rest of your life?

Lmao It’s Been A While
Dear college freshman and sophomore me,
Remember the guy you had a major crush on and never talked to him because you were so nervous every time you saw him? The guy you would see at the student union looking all fine and smart minding his own business and just couldn’t help but want to get to know him? Yeah? Well…. Gurl…. He’s not worth it and is a major disappointment because the man is dry asf and is not the standard… he may look cute but do not waste your time.
We finally had our first relationship after years of being single from the ex from high school that traumatized us!! (Btw your bisexual). Look, it may have hurt us deeply, but we learned from it. It gave a us a new perspective on our first relationship and we learned about what WE truly wanted in a relationship. We learned about what we want when it comes to dating and getting into a relationship. I’m proud to say that we are able to say when enough is enough and stand up for ourselves. It was a great relationship, with many beautiful memories and you learn a lot from it. I don’t regret it, but it doesn’t end up hurting you in the end.
You have the greatest friends!! They were there through everything. They helped you when you felt lost, they were there when you had a panic attack for the first time in months, they were there to lift you up when you were down. They were there to support you in absolutely everything and I couldn’t be more thankful that they are in my life. They give you courage and confidence in our decisions, wishes, and dreams!! Heck you even reconnected with your longest friend after a year of no talking because you thought that she would leave you is she found out you were bisexual!! You couldn’t have more more wrong because she supports you and she’s so happy to see how confident you are in yourself!! That’s right baby me!! We are confident now😎 plus you are in such a better place than you have ever been in your life!! Your happy and making memories with the people you love and cherish!! Heck I got high last night with all of our friends and went to the zoo and it was the best experience!!
Also remember the one guy your ex friend did a show with and how she told you all this shit about him and ended up hating him for it? Well… you ended up working on a musical with him and you hated him even more!! But that’s not the point. You both ended up being in the same class… and that my friend, is where it all began. So who would’ve ever thought you would have a fat crush on the guy that you hated? We have read by far too many fanfics. Btw nothing has come out of it, except moments that make me question whether or not he’s being flirty or just a good friend, but let me tell you… it’s worth it. Liking him as been one of the most fun experiences because he treats you differently than does with others in his life. He genuinely cares about us. He has defended you to professors, your fake wife (hi Daisy🥺🫶), your close friends, ect… he has given us advice, he has calmed us down when we are angry and stressed. He literally threatened us that he would come take care of us himself if we didn’t take better care of ourselves when we were sick. He is able to read us like a fucking book and that makes us so happy. We don’t have to say a single word because he will say “what happened? Talk to me,” and we do!! Man do we talk. We have talked about so many different things, and each one I cherish because he is just as grateful to have me in his life like how much I’m grateful that he’s in mine. Whether this ends up becoming romantic or friendly, it doesn’t matter because we have gained someone in our life that makes us happy.
And now on to the star of this saga. You, me and Us. I’m so proud of us. We made it to 22, and who would’ve thought that. We’ve had it hard, life coming at us and throwing curve balls left and right, hiking up mountains and valleys to get where we are and look at us!! We were able to write a full 10 minute script that our professor loved!! We even designed the program that presented our class and everyone loved it!! But the biggest accomplishment was the fact that we are officially an actor!! We preformed in our first main stage theatre production as the main lead for a show that has never been produced before!! On top of that we got nominated to compete for the Irene Ryan this upcoming KACTF!! lol at us go!! All those late nights memorizing lines that ended up being 96 pages was all worth it. We also have made so many new friendships and connections through this experience. We are finally growing up into the person we hoped we’d be! Look how far we’ve come and this is just the beginning because now you’re trying to write a book and man am I having fun with it!!
Everything you’ve gone through led us to where we are now!! I know it was hard in the beginning, but I’m so proud of you for holding on!! And I’m so proud of us for how far we’ve come. Goodbye for now little me. I’ll update you in a few years!!
