massive shoutsout to @tomssobbingcorner for letting me use aspects of their zam design, which i LOVEEEEE.

the one good thing to come out of this is I have more ideas for my world au. fucked up.
zam never chose to join lifesteal. he was following leowook when the other took one further step and vanished. at this point, he was curious, and followed.
everything around him was so similar to the natural world but somehow seemed wrong. this sensation grew the longer he was in it, leading to his breaking point in s3.
being banned felt like a release. he was high off of freedom only to get dragged back. it wasn't so bad at first, being back, the air was permanently tinged with iron wherever he walked but if that was all, he could get used to it. he already was.
but because zam was never meant to join lifesteal, not all of him is able to reside in it. he can never tell exactly what is missing, just that his body feels too weak and it takes too long for information to reach him.
issues truly arrise with dupe war. repeatedly getting a taste of freedom, of being whole, only to be thrown back into the world. it wrecked zams psyche, made him crave the feeling of himself again.
so in s5 when he is given the chance to be completely dead, completely gone, no coming back, there is nothing he wants more.
he never told anyone about this feeling.

ZAM (reading chat): "'I mean you did corrupt them.' I did! I did! But they don't even see that so what's the point? What's the point of corrupting them if they're not even gonna see it? Not even gonna- Not even gonna acknowledge it. Like?"
ZAM: "I have to beat them in the way that- I have to beat them in a language that they speak, which is playing minecraft. PVPing. Tryharding. You know? I can't use concepts that are foreign to minecraft."
ZAM: "I thought Minute got it, like. I really thought he did- I really thought he did. I don't know. But in another sense maybe they just look past it. Maybe they just don't care. Maybe they just really, truly don't care at all. Which is possible! Maybe I've corrupted them so bad that they just don't give a fuck." [laughs] "Like, I don't get it... I don't get it."
