Terveh teilä - hello all ! I haven't been very active on Tumblr as I'm more active on Instagram as of now, but I thought people here might be interested in this project of mine :) I've been working on this zine - "Brihačut on neičylöi, neičyt on brihačuloi" (Boys will be girls, girls will be boys) for a few months now, and I've finally finished it !
The zine consists of 8 short texts, in which I talk about my personal experiences & thoughts connected to a Queer & Karelian identity. I've attempted to open the topic in a manner understandable to those outside of our community, while of course keeping all my karjalazet čikkot, sizarukset and vel'l'et in mind <3
The main ideas of this project are to raise awareness to Karelian culture and to raise money for aid in Gaza. PAY WHAT YOU CAN per copy - keeping in mind 2,30-4,70 euros (2,50-5 dollars) will have to go to postage, the sum depending on your country of residence. The rest I'll send over to organizations offering humanitarian aid to people suffering from Israel's onslaught. Alternatively: if you've got a specific organization in mind, you can send a donation to them yourself - just be sure to send me proof of it alongside with the needed amount of money for me to send your copy to you !
