Roadtrip

I mentioned a few posts back that I would going out of region to retrieve a patient, well I have an update, as of Sunday Night I will be flying to the Alola region and heading to Seafolk village, if any of you guys would like to meet up while I am there feel free to get in touch, I will be in Alola for about three weeks, Stay safe out there everyone.

Wanted to add my own thoughts plus a photo, so Ditto attemping to turn into people isn't that uncommon, they just tend to not be very good at it, often including traits or features from humanoid pokemon, last I heard there's a lab in Johto currently studying this. Anyway I wanted to share my favorite photo of a ditto doing this. I know this photo made the rounds again pretty recently so you might have seen it.

If you dont see it, third row from the bottom, fourth person from the left. This is a crowdshot from the oh so famous battle between Agatha and a challenger using a poison type team, the famous one being his Nidorino. Anyway this ditto sitting in on this battle was noticed a while back and people have also spotted them in several other events at the same stadium. Anyway sorry for the ramble.

My Ditto keeps trying to turn into people. Any tips? It's really uncanny...

Don't we all love Greg haha. Though I would be interested in seeing what other slowpoke themed stuff you have? Also if you ever go to Azalea town in Johto make sure to check out the thrift stores they always have tons of slowpoke themed stuff for very cheap if you don't mind it being a bit scuffed or old. A friend of mine who lives there has a massive collection of Slowpoke themed kettles, she has like ten and they are all different.

Packing Day

Getting stuff together for my trip, Sandy keeps trying to hide in the clothes I'm sorting and it is adorable. I'm going to see about sending out some more berries today since I wont be able to send any new ones while I am out, but with mail-time it shouldn't feel like I am away for too long.

You receive a package, it's a jar about the size of a large pickle jar, inside is a red liquid, in which floats red orbs about the size of a golfball. Tied to the jar is a note.

I hate the TSA

Okay so my flight had a layover in Unova, was able to get on the plane no problem in Ohrken, just regular screening and I was off. In Unova I got taken aside for questioning and was held up for three hours being interrogated about my prosthetics (apparently the fact I have three is suspicious) Needless to say I missed my flight and the next one isn't until Tuesday morning, so if anyone in Unova wants to say hi I am currently in a hotel in Driftveil so feel free to hop over, I don't have much planned other than seing about getting lunch in Castelia which should be nice.

Hello! I was just wondering if you had any advice to rangers new to the field? I just got back from my first mission and I can already tell I have lots to learn ^^;

Congratulations! A lot of stuff you will learn in the next coming months will be from the station you work at this varies from station to station is location highly effects the kind of work you will be doing most of the time. But I can give some more generic-ish advice that applies everywhere. During a mission people can be just as dangerous as the pokemon, especially to themselves. A lot of films and other media like to depict a group of rangers calm down a raging pokemon while a crowd looks in awe, don't do this if you have a team member with you one of you should focus on crowd control, keep bystanders away from danger, and prevent anyone from getting ideas about playing hero and getting hurt. If you have one of those newer Styler's that can gain buffs from pokemon captured with it remember your type charts, and learn the types of the pokemon in your local area. Learn the locations where water pokemon like to hang out in the area you serve in, we are often called to deal with fires while the actual fire department makes their way over, so knowing where the closest water-type is can be very useful. Keep your styler charged whenever possible. Prepare for negative reactions, while most people respect the work we do there are some that have the opposite view, so be prepared and be ready to continue with your tasks anyway. This is another reason to do crowd control whenever possible, it becomes harder to stop a rampaging Ursaring when your being hit upside the head with a cane haha. Bring survival equipment with you, this is more pertinent to rugged regions like Sinnoh but Its still good practice to keep dried foods, or MREs in your pack for emergencies, if possible I recommend enough for you, your partner pokemon and one other person for three days. Keep water on your especially in dry areas, and pack flares.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, treat pokemon with respect.

Finally got to Seafolk and got to meet our patient, a ralts. Very shy but still adorable, I will be spending the next few weeks visiting and getting her ready to travel back to Skjøldur, so if you live in the area and want to visit I'll be free for a decent bit of time each day.

I figured since you sent me some berries, I should return the favor. It isn’t much, but these berries grow frequently around where I live. but I hope you find them helpful. Maybe you can pickle them and see how they taste.

I just got to meet the words oldest shuckle (finally someone I can relate to haha) Ill show some pictures today or tomorrow when I get a chance, its a big ol' boy.

This is one of the better pictures, he weighs almost 1k lbs. and his shell is six feet long.

Its shell is home to 24 species of mold, and if you have asthma do not come within like 100 ft. you will probably die. We had to wear masks because of the spores.

He's 184 this year. He's not with us I am in Alola right now on business and a group working a reserve here on Poni are tending to him, I got invited to come and see. Yes, he has trouble moving both due to age and size, which also limits what moves he can use. Otherwise most of his issues are due to age since shuckle usually live about 100 years so he's setting records and exploring new territory every day. Lil fun fact ol' Una (probably spelling it wrong) here and the previous holder of the record both have highly alcoholic juice. Shuckle berry juice usually contains some alchohol but not much, Una here has a lot (about 60%, normal shuckle juice is about 0.3%) and so the researchers think that this might have something to do with the longer lifespan, possibly a form of mutation, the previous oldest (I think they called him Ha'o) had a whopping 80% alcohol in the berry juice he produced and lived to be 140 years old. I mean does the reminder part still apply to me since I am almost 10 years retired? Plus most of my NDA's are expired so I can talk about all sorts of things now, like how the Union was going to have a ranger base in Fuchsia City about 30 years ago, but it was completed as the family who owns the land around the town wanted an insane amount of money for it. Still don't understand why we weren't supposed to talk about it when the press were informed from like day three. Sorry for the ramble.
