Man it took me a bit to figure out how to color lava, I think it came out pretty well in the end! I also think I'm going to make a post of my favorite background shots.

When drawing some of these panels it was really leaning into "You have to trust the process." I'm glad I did, but man there was some moments where I was on the fence.

today I learned shy guy is a California girl

I was playing Mario party with 2 friends, one picked shy guy, the other Rosalina, I picked boo. The one who picked Rosalina didn’t play it before so we had to gang up on our bestie :)

anyway he had to leave early, I was stuck playing 2 characters and we started listening to California gurls. And my friend plying shy guy got a huge boost in luck, managing to narrowly snag a star last turn after the computer managed to roll a zero right before the star. And then proceeded to get both of the bonus stars.

point is

shy guy is a California girl, play the song on loop while singing it and playing shy guy probably a guaranteed win

In Mario Kart 8/Deluxe, mining Shy Guys have been added to the Wario's Gold Mine track that were not present in the original Wii version. Just like in Shy Guy Falls, the music gains Shy Guy voices when driving past them, though the area where the voices can be heard is a relatively small segment of the track.

The Shy Guy voices are harmonized with the music for the entirety of the song, which can be heard by idling next to them for long enough. Here is the Shy Guy version of the music, extracted from the game's files.

Yoshi receives a bonus star for walking the least amount of steps.

Me: "It's probably because they didn't have any allies to add to the dice rolls."

My sister: "Leave it to yoshi, he had no friends!"

I feel kinda bad for the guy lol

Started playing Stela recently, and these enemies immediately made me think of SCP-096 (The Shy Guy), except these guys are a lot less socially inhibited. (Still homicidal, though, and possibly anthropophagus.)

Maybe he’s a related species?
